Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!
Chapter 846: Have You Always Been This Rude?
It was like a dark upheaval.
The black mist, along with the surging tentacles, had almost filled every corner of this village.
And facts had already proven that in the face of immense fear of the unknown and extreme survival pressure, the states displayed by various living beings still tended toward the same thing, because even conflict and hatred required first staying alive before one had the means to fight!
A group of people desperately ran wildly through the streets like headless flies (〃´皿`).
That pitch-black surging mist had not retreated in the slightest. Instead, it still unhurriedly followed behind them, as if playing a game of cat and mouse.
Toying with them!
This was absolutely, undeniably, a form of toying!
Just like how a cat, after catching a mouse, is in no hurry to kill it, but instead plays with you viciously, leaving your body and mind riddled with wounds, before satisfyingly and cruelly screwing you over bit by bit, thereby sating that crazed and twisted addiction.
"Dead end!"
The moment this fleeing group turned the corner of a street, they immediately looked ahead with terror. This was already the end of the village. Because it was located in the south, the buildings here were generally tall and upright, and this time what blocked their path was clearly a dead end.
But it was also at this moment that the Demon Hunter suddenly drew his blades and roared:
"Everyone move aside!"
Almost instantly.
He gritted his teeth and leaped up, raising the blades high in his hands, and in an instant they fell upon the towering wall ahead.
Boom——
A thunderous crash.
The entire tall wall collapsed with a thunderous roar under the power of that single strike. The surrounding soldiers' eyes once again flickered with trembling hope.
But it only lasted less than two seconds before their gazes instantly turned hollow.
The dust settled.
Behind that tall wall, as if they had been waiting here for them all along, countless viscous tentacles, like wriggling oversized dicks, gurgled and squeezed in through the windows and doors of that building, completely sealing off the path ahead.
They immediately turned their heads, looking back the way they came.
The massive black mist had also sealed off every corner of their original path, and faintly visible as the mist spread was a even more sinister massive tentacle creeping toward them bit by bit.
"No escape!"
The crowd retreated in terror toward the center.
Black mist billowed, and that indescribable immense fear seemed to be staring directly into your soul.
Front and back were blocked. The twisted massive tentacles surrounded them in the center, and from within the group came the ceaseless terrified wails and shrieks of wandering souls.
But honestly, the soldiers weren't much better off. Even though they had received the harshest training, when had they ever seen such an unknown and twisted existence? They were on the verge of tears, because didn't the reports clearly say that only wandering souls and Evil Spirits were haunting this place? But this thing didn't look like an Evil Spirit at all!
Had a max-level boss descended upon the noob village?!
And as if toying with them, from within the writhing black mist, a long tentacle like a giant python slowly extended. Under their terrified gazes, it coiled and meandered toward them, sweeping over every one of them, and finally came to a slow stop in front of the Demon Hunter.
Breathing rapidly.
The Demon Hunter gripped his blades deathly tight, his pupils trembling violently, cold sweat nearly soaking through his clothes.
As if examining them.
Smack——
The tip of that tentacle suddenly opened a single eyeball.
"Waaaah ah ah ah (ΩДΩ)!!"
The surrounding soldiers and wandering souls immediately let out bursts of terrified screams. The Demon Hunter, by pure reflex, let out a roar and instantly swung his blades at that tentacle.
"Hey, aren't you all—"
Squelch——
Almost before that eyeball could finish speaking, the blade had already come down. With a squelch, the tip of the tentacle was severed, and viscous fluid instantly splattered all over the Demon Hunter.
Everyone held their breath, staring at the scene in terror.
The Demon Hunter stood stiffly, gripping his blades with both hands, the slime on his face dripping steadily from his chin.
"Sir... did that tentacle just say something..."
A soldier swallowed hard, trembling, and asked nervously.
The Demon Hunter stiffened and said, "I don't know. Probably just an illusion..."
"......"
A brief, eerie silence.
The tentacle that had been partially cut off twitched, then with a gurgle, a new tentacle sprouted from the severed spot with a splash.
As if pausing slightly in silence.
And in the very next instant, countless tentacles burst forth from the black mist, rushing toward them with a whoosh whoosh whoosh, and amid their shrill, terrified screams, they unstoppably surged into their midst. The nimble tentacles wrapped up from their ankles with a splash, instantly cocooning soldier after soldier and wandering soul.
"Open fire!! Open fire!!"
"Help!! Sir!!"
"I don't want to die!!"
For a moment, accompanied by the rat-tat-tat of gunfire and shrill screams, one figure after another was hoisted up by the tentacles and drag into the mist before them with a splash.
The entire group had fallen into complete chaos.
And the Demon Hunter who had just cut the tentacle earlier immediately received the greatest retaliation. In an instant, his entire torso was wrapped up and he was whipped into the air. Amid that terrified shriek, the tentacle gripping him split off two new tentacles.
Aimed at his backside.
Whap whap whap whap, striking from left and right.
A relentless thrashing.
"I ask you one question and you cut me with a blade? Didn't your mom ever teach you to be polite when talking to others? Hmm?"
Those tentacles spoke in human language, whipping the Demon Hunter into a series of humiliated howls.
Each strike hurt like death.
Whap——
The Evil Spirit, seeing this scene, trembled even more, retreating continuously.
With almost no hesitation, taking advantage of the chaos, it quickly turned its head, wanting to flee at top speed while it could.
But almost the moment it moved.
Tentacles instantly shot toward it from all directions. It frantically dodged, but only avoided one or two tentacles' pursuit before its legs were instantly wrapped by a tentacle, its entire body losing balance and being violently yanked into the air amid shrieks.
"Run! Run! Weren't you good at running? Why aren't you running anymore?"
Then came the massive crashing sounds of its body being slammed onto the ground again and again by the tentacle wrapped around its ankles.
Every swing was face-first into the ground.
Whap——
Under the left-and-right violent slamming, the Evil Spirit's flesh-and-blood body was smashed into a bloody pulp, and one after another of the wandering souls it had devoured were forcibly screwed right out of its body.
"I won't dare! Never again... I'll never dare again! Please, have mercy and let me off this once!"
It shrieked endlessly from being thrown, begging continuously.
But it was completely useless.
In just a brief moment, everyone catchable had been caught. Looking out, soldier after soldier and wandering soul hung upside down from the dense tentacles, like brilliant fruits growing from twisted trees.
All the soldiers had hollow gazes, already knowing their inevitable fate.
And even now they still didn't know.
What this terrifying monster actually was, and why it had appeared in this tiny village...
Could it be...
That this was their fate!
