Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!
Chapter 872: Just Fail a Few More Times, and You’re Bound to Succeed!
Buzzz—
Almost the instant Lynn finished speaking, the massive door facing the Matriarch’s underground hall exploded. Countless golden spears of light shot toward them in the plaza at an unimaginable speed. Before anyone could even react, the spears detonated with a series of violent blasts.
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom—
Amid a chorus of screams, the entire plaza was flipped upside down.
“Lynn, you bastard! You set us up!”
“Older Sister, stop blowing things up! Please, stop! We’re just standing here! This has nothing to do with us!”
…
Half an hour later.
On an open helipad outside the city, Lynn solemnly stuffed the fold-jumped Scythe in his hand into the System Space. He adjusted his Monocle and gazed at the ridiculously awesome device in his hand.
“What an impressive device! Looks like my formula isn’t as useless as I thought. I actually managed to modify it into such a high-grade creation. It really is a little wicked.”
As he spoke,
Lynn solemnly and seriously tucked it away.
There was no other choice.
This device was simply too dangerous!
If it accidentally got out and fell into the hands of those shameless, perverted peeping toms, it would be a disaster for every girl!
To protect all those young girls from the device’s wicked harm, and from the perverts who might use it, this shameless device had to be handed over to him for safekeeping! He really had no choice but to bear the terrible backlash it brought all by himself, for everyone’s sake!
There really was no other way!
He turned around and looked at Sir Aiwen and Wushen Auntie, both of them covered in dust from the explosion. Lynn clapped his hands and said earnestly, full of determination:
“As you can all see, the city is far too dangerous. It really isn’t a place to linger! So let’s pick up where we left off right here. Where were we…? Oh, right. As you all saw, my ability can indeed perfectly repair any damaged object. But if my luck’s bad, it can also produce some minor modifications. And that’s where I need to ask for your help!”
Colossus’s Brain fought to keep herself calm. Grinding her teeth, she forcefully brushed the dust blasted into her hair.
Her fists clenched with a crack.
She was furious!
Furious!
The urge to punch someone was becoming impossible to ignore!
That shameless bastard!
Sir Aiwen was covered in dust too. His eyes squeezed shut as he twitched, then he pulled off his glove and briskly shook the dirt and stones out of it.
They were Root-level beings, so the blast hadn’t really hurt them all that much. But that kid had run off ahead of time, leaving them with nothing but the mental humiliation. It made them so furious they wanted to pin him down and beat him senseless!
After all, that kid was standing there in pristine clothes, without a care in the world!
“So what are you planning to do?” Colossus’s Brain asked through gritted teeth.
Lynn adjusted his Monocle and sat down cross-legged. He took out the fragments of his Cursed Eye again and said seriously:
“Here’s the thing. Today’s start really was unlucky. Using more powerful Strength would definitely boost the success rate by a lot, but I’m currently under hell’s Gaze. It hasn’t taken effect yet, but it’s bound to be affecting my luck to some extent. If I don’t make every possible preparation, even with a 99% success rate, I might still hit that 1% jackpot!”
Colossus’s Brain clenched her fists with a crack and gritted her teeth.
“Stop the buildup and get to the point!”
Lynn immediately nodded again and again.
Then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, Lynn solemnly pulled out a pile of potions from his clothes and laid them out on the ground one by one.
“Take a look, everyone. These are all top-grade restorative potions I scavenged from Leviathan. I have no idea what their formula is…”
Then he fished out a bottle of bright green potion marked with a skull and gave it a serious shake.
“And this is a highly toxic pesticide I developed specifically. It’s extremely poisonous.”
Click—
He pulled the stopper out.
A wisp of green smoke, shaped like a skull, immediately bubbled out of the bottle.
Then, under everyone’s wide-eyed stares, he tipped his head back and gulped down half the bottle. He wiped his mouth with a satisfied look, gave a thumbs-up, and said seriously:
“It really is incredibly poisonous! It also easily destroys the ingredients in other potions, rendering them useless. So as long as I mix this bottle of pesticide with these restorative potions, I’ll be able to get some…”
He solemnly and attentively opened the bottle and added a few drops to each restorative potion.
As the potions mixed,
Pop—
The restorative potion, which had been a soft pink, instantly turned green, then black, and finally began bubbling out wisps of green smoke.
Lynn adjusted his Monocle, picked up one of the bottles, and smiled.
“Now we’re set. I just need to use these potions with their ingredients ruined as practice. Since my formula probably won’t make me fail several times in a row, if I fail a few times while repairing these potions, the odds of succeeding when I repair the Cursed Eye right afterward are bound to go up! I came up with this method after thinking for half an hour. I’m sure it’ll work! What do you think?”
Everyone stared stiffly at the green fumes billowing from above his head.
Then they looked at the bubbles gurgling out of his left hand around the potion bottle he was holding.
There was no way they could focus on what he was saying.
At last, Sir Aiwen swallowed and said stiffly:
“You… are you sure this isn’t some kind of superstition? I really don’t see any basis for this method of yours. It’s way too far-fetched…”
Lynn looked at him, adjusted his Monocle, and replied earnestly:
“But isn’t this a fantasy world? Isn’t it normal for things to be a little fantastic?”
“…”
Wide-eyed silence!
Ah! Well, fair enough! That makes perfect sense! There’s absolutely no way to argue with that! I’m speechless!
So if he just deliberately failed a few times first,
and used up some of his bad luck,
then his chances of succeeding next time would go up. Was that how it worked?
Ah!
Coming up with a way to improve his luck like this really was a stroke of genius! Damn it!
Had he really gotten completely into the mindset of a gambler?!
Seeing that nobody had any objections to his plan, Lynn smiled faintly and rolled up his sleeves. A confident gleam flashed in his eyes as he showed his white teeth.
“In that case, let’s not waste any more time. We’ll start right now. When I use my ability, I’ll be counting on all of you!”
In an instant,
a faint golden glow shimmered once more across Lynn’s hand.
Without the slightest hesitation, he reached for the bottle of restorative potion mixed with deadly poison in front of him and shouted through gritted teeth:
“Activate!”
