"I don’t think so," Su Wen said. "In fact, when Fighting God saw the scene you recorded, his face remained completely calm and unchanged."

"After all, Fighting God has been through a lot. How could he possibly change his expression just because he saw his own tombstone?"

Hearing this, the Wind God silently withdrew the power of the wind that had been recording the surroundings.

If he remembered correctly, hadn’t Fighting God been tricked by the Arrow Realm and ended up killing the God of Wealth over a woman in one of the sub-timelines?

Hmm… compared to that, what did the Tomb of the Fighting God even matter now?

"I can sense that this remnant soul of Fighting God is badly injured," the Star God said gravely. "But it seems like there’s some force protecting it…"

As he spoke, the Star God suddenly paused.

He was all too familiar with the force shielding Fighting God.

After all, in the last sub-timeline, he had risen to the position of high priest of the Remnant.

Even though he hadn’t retained the memories of infiltrating the Remnant’s territory, all infiltrations had to start somewhere.

His prior interactions with the Remnant and his understanding of their energy rules were what had allowed him to thrive among them.

"Is it the power of the Remnant protecting Fighting God?" Su Wen asked, looking directly at the Star God.

A force that could make the Star God this quiet had to be from the Remnant, no doubt about it.

"Yes," the Star God nodded. "And I know who’s behind this power."

"The Remnant’s…"

He didn’t finish the name.

After all, he was still just a Demigod. If he were to casually drop the name of a true king of the Remnant Universe, it could stir up unnecessary trouble.

He had some understanding of how the Remnant operated.

"So, our Life-and-Death Enemies are protecting Fighting God?" the Wind God said, half-laughing, half-disbelieving. He’d considered this possibility before, but seeing it play out in front of him still felt surreal.

Sometimes, his own side wanted to kill Fighting God, while the enemy was willing to protect him at all costs?

Just thinking about it felt bizarre!

"I’ll start by reviving this remnant soul of Fighting God and see if I can create a physical body for him," the Star God said.

As he spoke, a radiant glow of nurturing energy—the power of stars—began to emanate from his fingertips.

Soon, the incredibly weak remnant soul of Fighting God, which had been suppressed beneath the Tomb of the Fighting God, slowly floated out, guided by the power of stars.

"Mm…"

The remnant soul of Fighting God let out a soft breath of turbid air and slowly opened his eyes.

When he saw the Wind God standing before him, his eyes widened in intense emotion.

To an ordinary person, the scene might be baffling, but he grasped everything in an instant.

He hadn’t forgotten about the fallen God of Wealth in the main Time and Space, his comrade from not long ago.

In fact, he was the one who first pointed out the differences between the main Time and Space and the sub-timelines.

Most importantly, the Wind God from his timeline was dead—killed by his own hand, or so he was certain.

Yet now, the Wind God, Star God, and God of Wealth stood before him again, radiating immense power.

In that moment, he pieced together the tangled web of events.

These three comrades before him must have come from the main Time and Space!

The return of the God of Wealth confirmed that his gamble had paid off.

The main Time and Space must have achieved a great victory!

The Only Profit clan and the Huahuaz clan—had they been dealt with by the main Time and Space?

Yes!

They must have been eliminated!

If the main Time and Space had distrusted those clans and acted on the God of Wealth’s hints, he wouldn’t have been brought to this dire state.

"Xiao Feng, I’m sorry."

Once the remnant soul of Fighting God gathered his thoughts, he immediately apologized to the Wind God.

From his earlier encounter with the God of Wealth in the main Time and Space, he had sensed that he’d been manipulated by the Arrow Realm.

Though the God of Wealth hadn’t outright said the Wind God was innocent, his words and emotional fluctuations had revealed much.

"Brother Fighting God, I already knew the whole story before you arrived," the Wind God said solemnly. "You don’t need to apologize to me."

"The version of me you killed in this timeline wasn’t entirely innocent, in a way."

"Of course, if you think this version of me was truly a traitor, that’s also unfair."

"I wasn’t innocent because I was ensnared by the Hidden Killing clan."

"I wasn’t a traitor, yet I ended up doing things even a traitor wouldn’t do."

"I was innocent because it wasn’t my intention; had I not been tricked, I’d never have done such things."

As he spoke, the Wind God glanced at the remnant soul of Fighting God, then turned his back to him.

"It’s just a shame that when I was weaker, some things were out of my control."

"But now it’s different—I’m strong enough."

"Some past schemes were seen through by me before they could even unfold."

"…"

Then, the Wind God tilted his head up at a forty-five-degree angle, his entire being exuding the aura of someone who had weathered countless trials, become invincible, and carried the weight of the world.

Su Wen and the Star God exchanged a glance, suppressing smirks. They knew the Wind God was showing off to the remnant soul of Fighting God.

Who would’ve thought the Wind God had a penchant for flexing on a remnant soul?

"I see now," the remnant soul of Fighting God said, turning suddenly to give Su Wen a thumbs-up. "With the God of Wealth’s help, the main Time and Space has undergone such a massive shift."

"From the moment I first saw you, Su Wen, and confirmed your identity, I knew your future was boundless."

"Not just for the main Time and Space, but for all the sub-timelines to come!"

Su Wen took a deep breath, impressed. "I truly didn’t expect you’d already thought this far ahead back then."

Beside him, the Star God chimed in, "It’s true. Even as a remnant soul, Fighting God’s strategic mind and foresight are remarkable."

"If the version of you in the main Time and Space had this kind of wisdom, my burdens would’ve been much lighter."

The remnant soul of Fighting God paused, then shook his head with a smile.

"Not at all. If I had the choice, I’d rather be a happy fool."

Who wouldn’t want to be a happy fool? How carefree that would be!

If it weren’t for the unforgivable mistakes he’d made and the long reflection in his tomb after his fall, he might never have gained such insight.

The Wind God studied Fighting God for a moment, then raised an eyebrow slightly.

"So, Brother Fighting God… the more wrongs you commit, the less forgivable they are, and the guiltier you feel—does that just make you smarter?"
