Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 2232: Selling Information

  • Next Chapter

Arriving at the Myriad Treasure Hall Branch within the Western Central Region, Su Han didn’t waste any time and directly went through the local branch head to inquire about Xuan Hao.

Of course, given that he didn’t even know Xuan Hao’s name nor the ancient hidden sect he might be a part of, all the Myriad Treasure Hall had to go on was his appearance and the fact that he was proficient in the Dao of Space. Rare, sure, but this was someone from an ancient hidden sect, so it wasn’t exactly odd for there to be someone skilled in the Dao of Space hidden away inside them.

In the end, though the Myriad Treasure Hall did know about a few figures at the Star Creation Realm that were proficient in the Dao of Space, it wasn’t the person Su Han was looking for, thus, they were forced to look more deeply into the matter and refer back to the main headquarters of the Myriad Treasure Hall. After all, the information contained within a branch was far inferior compared to the vast quantities of information that could be found back at the headquarters of the Myriad Treasure Hall.

If the person Su Han was looking for truly did belong to an ancient hidden sect, the branch head felt confident that information on the other party would come up after the headquarters went through the information he had provided them with.

As for why the headquarters could be so easily contacted for something like this? That mainly had to do with the fact that Su Han didn’t just have strength comparable to the Star Creation Realm but also came representing the Western Central Region when asking about Xuan Hao.

They could ignore it, but it might make trade with the few ancient hidden sects hidden throughout the Western Central Region more difficult in the future.

Not to mention, Su Han had made sure to show his sincerity when asking, giving the Myriad Treasure Hall more than enough benefits to momentarily focus their attention towards helping him find out about the figure from an ancient hidden sect he came asking about.

And upon reaching the main headquarters of the Myriad Treasure Hall, it didn’t take the record keepers in charge of parsing through information on different ancient hidden sects long to identify Xuan Hao as the senior from the Star Shattering Sect that one of their elders had entered a cooperative agreement with not that long ago.

Knowing how important the trade agreement with the Star Shattering Sect was given how it involved a dao rune blueprint, they didn’t immediately transfer this information back to the branch in the Western Central Region, but instead began poking around to determine whether this monk had any hostile intentions towards the Star Shattering Sect. After all, if the other party did have hostile intentions and ended up dragging the Western Central Region into a battle against the Star Shattering Sect, the trade agreement between them and the Star Shattering Sect would almost certainly get vaporized no matter how the Star Shattering Sect fared in the face of those temples from the Western Central Region.

Still, as Su Han felt the subtle prodding from the branch head, he didn’t feel the slightest bit disturbed.

On the contrary, he felt relieved. Understanding that the person who had shown up and entered the mystic realm to catch some pet that had run astray was indeed someone from an ancient hidden sect. Knowing that this behavior from the Myriad Treasure Hall meant that the hidden ancient sect that person belonged to wasn’t a normal ancient hidden sect, but one that was of paramount importance to the Myriad Treasure Hall.

Meaning it either had some important trade agreement with the Myriad Treasure Hall in place or was powerful to the point where the Myriad Treasure Hall didn’t want to carelessly offend it by giving away information on it- or both.

No matter which of the three it was, it was good news for him, as it meant the person didn’t come from the Southern Central Region like he and the senior monks behind him had originally feared.

If anything, given his identity as someone from an ancient hidden sect, even if he had figured out what was hidden inside the mystic realm, there was a good chance he would decide to directly ignore it or even lend a hand to better conceal it from those churches in the south.

After all, it wasn’t something that would harm an ancient hidden sect and could even be considered somewhat beneficial if it succeeded, as it would weaken the overall influence and power of the churches that currently stood at the top of the Ewaria Continent.

Keeping this in mind, Su Han carefully answered the prodding questions of the branch head while also informing the other party that he had already determined the other party to be from an ancient hidden sect and that was his main purpose in coming to ask his Myriad Treasure Hall for information.

"I see... If that is the case, then I guess there isn’t any problem sharing a bit of information with you regarding that senior." And after getting approval from those behind him upon making sure the other party didn’t come with hostile intentions, the branch head relaxed visibly as he said this. "The person you inquired about should be an elder of the Star Shattering Sect, an ancient hidden sect that recently resurfaced in the Northern Region just outside the borders of what is considered the Central Northern Region." Giving him a general introduction to the Star Shattering Sect and where it was located.

"Star Shattering Sect? Northern Region? I think I heard about it before..." And unsurprisingly, Su Han had already heard about the Star Shattering Sect before, as the actions of this ancient hidden sect hadn’t exactly been subtle over the past few years in their attempts to ensure stability of the Northern Central Region.

Although the existence of this ancient hidden sect had ended up making the plans of some temples that wanted to expand into the Northern Central Region more difficult, it wasn’t anything his temple was part of cared about. Not to mention, this wasn’t something that interfered with the overall state of the Western Central Region and only involved those belonging to the expansionist faction that wanted to bring the Northern Central Region under them as well.

Su Han himself belonged to the more peaceful faction that preferred not to expand outwards, as it risked drawing unwanted attention from the Southern Central Region- or more specifically, the nine core faiths constantly monitoring them.

After all, it wasn’t that they didn’t have the ability to destroy them, but just that the cost of doing so was not something the ones behind them were willing to pay.

At least, that was the case if they kept to the Western Central Region and didn’t interfere in the overall development of the continent.

"Good, then I won’t take up your time any longer." Seeing Su Han already knew about the Star Shattering Sect, the branch head nodded his head in understanding before turning around to leave upon seeing Su Han had gotten the information he wanted.

At the same time, he also went back to inform the Myriad Treasure Hall’s operatives within the Western Central Region to find out what had happened that made the monks of the Western Central Region suddenly interested in an ancient hidden sect from the north.

"..."

Left behind on his own, Su Han stood in place for a good few seconds going over what he knew about the Star Shattering Sect before pulling out a communication talisman to inform the council of elders that had sent him off to ensure that Xuan Hao was someone from an ancient hidden sect, that he was indeed someone from an ancient hidden sect.

Unsurprisingly, learning about the situation and the fact that the Star Shattering Sect turned out to be an important trade partner of the Myriad Treasure Hall made those fellow elders of his more interested in the Star Shattering Sect and wanted him to investigate this ancient hidden sect closer.

Amongst the ones most interested in the Star Shattering Sect was the Heavenly Dragon Temple along with a few other elders belonging to temples close to the Heavenly Dragon Temple.

Although surprising that one of the major temples was interested in this ancient hidden sect, Su Han didn’t find it that surprising considering how the Heavenly Dragon Temple was the de facto leader of the expansionist faction and had wanted to expand its influence into the Northern Central Region for a long time.

In his eyes, the elder from the Heavenly Dragon Temple was likely curious about whether it would be possible to continue such expansionist endeavors with an ancient hidden sect that clearly disliked any large-scale chaos in the region. Maybe even hoping to establish some kind of connection to the Star Shattering Sect that would allow them to expand without attracting the ire of this ancient hidden sect in the process.
