Third floor of the Observatory.

On the bed, only Nalan Yiren tightly embraced Chen Mo, her legs locking his waist and back. Her lotus-like arms also clung tightly around Chen Mo’s neck. The palace skirt on her was not completely removed, but loosened at the waist, with the hem lifted to just below the hips. Her exquisite bare feet were taut together.

After a while, Nalan Yiren’s toes, akin to tender bamboo shoots, slowly relaxed and playfully twitched.

She slowly opened her eyes; the legs that had locked Chen Mo’s waist and back also relaxed. The arms and legs, which previously exerted astonishing force, suddenly seemed to have turned to jelly, soft and without strength.

Nalan Yiren’s fingertips gently caressed Chen Mo’s chest, lingering bliss still on her face, she softly asked, "What happened to you just now?"

No response.

"Why don’t you speak?" Nalan Yiren’s fingers traced circles on Chen Mo’s chest.

Still no response.

"Hmm?" Nalan Yiren nudged Chen Mo and looked up to find Chen Mo calmly staring towards the window.

Nalan Yiren glanced back and found nothing at the window.

"Hus... Husband." Nalan Yiren raised her hand and gently patted Chen Mo’s cheek, then her expression changed.

Chen Mo continued staring at the window; no matter how she tried, his eyes wouldn’t move, nor would his limbs.

"Husband, please don’t scare me." Nalan Yiren checked Chen Mo’s breath, still sensing it yet found him unresponsive. Panicked, she withdrew, sat up, and started feeling his pulse.

Breathing steady, pulse normal, aside from a slightly fast heartbeat, there was nothing unusual.

"Your Majesty!"

"Husband."

"Chen Mo..."

No matter how Nalan Yiren called, Chen Mo gave no reaction.

This situation seemed as if he had lost his soul, like being haunted.

...

Elsewhere, Chen Mo was wandering the harem, unaware of the situation at the Observatory.

He somewhat enjoyed this sensation, seemingly like a mist of air, lighter than air itself, wandering through the harem. He felt as if he had merged with the heavens and earth.

He also wanted to test the limits of his Soul Travel time.

The Great Song Ancestor’s writings mentioned that when one feels heart palpitations becoming severe, nearing death, it’s time to return quickly; further attempts could be immeasurable in consequence.

These were the notes the Great Song Ancestor left for his descendants, and they shouldn’t be false; otherwise, it would be harming his heirs.

He went to Weiyang Palace.

Then he went to Liang Ji’s Lanxiang Palace.

He stood confidently before Xiao Ya, watching her bathe.

Chen Mo felt more than a quarter of an hour had passed.

But he still hadn’t sensed the approach of heart palpitations.

To be on the safe side, Chen Mo decided he shouldn’t try further.

After all, he currently had limited knowledge about the Celestial Human Realm. Better to return to his body, read more notes on the Celestial Human Realm, and only attempt again once he felt assured.

While heading back to the Observatory, a unique ripple invisibly came from afar, the wave instantly reaching Chen Mo, seemingly calling to him.

Chen Mo glanced at the direction—it was coming from his sleeping quarters.

He raised a brow, feeling a strong desire compelling him to go inspect.

And so, he did indeed go.

Arriving at his quarters, Chen Mo’s gaze focused on the locked wardrobe, frowning.

He didn’t keep clothes in the wardrobe; instead, he stored the "Blood God Seal" he had brought back from Jin Xia.

It was the "Blood God Seal" calling to him.

The closer he got to the wardrobe, the stronger the desire to approach grew.

He moved through the wardrobe; inside, the wooden box containing the "Blood God Seal" trembled. Red light radiated through the gaps, these rays of red possessed a strong allure, compelling him to reach out towards the box.

His hand passed directly through the box, just about to touch the Blood God Seal.

The sensation of heart palpitations came.

Weak, but it quickly brought Chen Mo back to awareness.

He hurriedly withdrew his hand from the box and swiftly exited the wardrobe.

As Chen Mo distanced himself, the trembling of the box grew more intense, as if the Blood God Seal were going berserk, like a duck to mouth that suddenly flew away.

The box’s tremors caused collisions with the wardrobe, which was locked; under strong impact, the wardrobe toppled.

Such a loud commotion drew eunuchs to inspect, and seeing the wardrobe toppled on the ground, they were puzzled until someone shouted loudly, "Your Majesty, is that you?"

No response.

Someone asked, "Who’s there? Come out?"

"Quick, inform godfather there’s something happening in His Majesty’s sleeping chamber?"

"..."

Chen Mo had already left his chambers, hastily heading to the Observatory.

He found the sensation of heart palpitations growing stronger.

When he returned to the third floor of the Observatory.

A jade-like figure was in the room, bouncing around and "dancing," holding a bell and muttering words.

Meanwhile, his "body" on the bed lay flat, face and chest covered with indecipherable symbols painted with either blood or red pigment of some sort.

Chen Mo didn’t know what had transpired, but intuition told him he needed to return to his body swiftly, lest something bad happen.

"Right, how do I return to my body..."

Just as he landed on the bed, he suddenly recalled the notes didn’t describe how to return to one’s body. In a moment of distraction, his hand touched his "body," and he was absorbed into it.

Simultaneously.

Nalan Yiren, still muttering, shook the bell and softly called, "Soul, come."
