Cultivation: I Can Traverse Otherworlds
Chapter 387 - 62: Grotto-Heaven
Zhu Ju was a Late-Stage Dao Foundation Cultivator and possessed a Physical Body at the Body Refining Fourth Realm. He could easily toy with objects weighing tens of thousands of pounds.
Yet he was powerless against the giant bell.
His Outer Body Incarnation tried as well, but even at the Body Refining Fifth Realm, it couldn’t budge the giant bell in the slightest.
Pei Jingque fared even worse.
She was a Magic Cultivator who followed an unorthodox path, not the traditional Golden Core Path. Her power stemmed entirely from her High Grade Magical Treasure, the Three-Flame Simurgh Fan. In terms of pure physical strength, she was even weaker than Zhu Ju.
"I’ve never seen a Refining Method like this before. Refining this thing... I’m afraid it won’t be accomplished overnight."
After studying it for a long while, Pei Jingque finally shook her head in resignation and added,
"However, this is definitely an Exotic Treasure. Its grade might even rival my Three-Flame Simurgh Fan."
"If we can manage the Refinement, it could even hold off a Golden Core Grandmaster!"
"It’s a great treasure, no doubt, but we can’t use it right now. Let’s focus on the opportunities right in front of us first," Zhu Ju said, turning to look at the surrounding herb fields.
"So much Spiritual Medicine..."
"I’ve never seen anything like this in my entire life!"
Ten thousand mu of fields, filled with countless Spiritual Medicines. A rich, almost tangible medicinal Qi permeated the air.
Each stalk of Spirit Grass and every Spirit Fruit was a captivating sight.
"Let’s go!"
Pei Jingque rolled up her long sleeves. A Medicine Shovel and a bamboo basket appeared in her hands as she leaped into the thicket of herbs with a smile.
"Darling, keep count for me."
"Alright."
Zhu Ju smiled and nodded.
Fierce Flame Flower, Jade Peach, Snake Spirit Fruit, Vermilion Fruit, Jade Marrow Mushroom...
"The Jade Marrow Mushroom is one of the three primary ingredients for the Foundation Establishment Pill, and it’s by far the hardest to find. With this, we can just buy the other two main ingredients at the Marketplace. Our Bright Void Sect will never be short on Foundation Establishment Pills again!"
Pei Jingque straightened up, her beautiful eyes scanning the surroundings.
"Darling, this must be one of the herb fields from the Langya Cave Heaven. It’s somehow been perfectly preserved."
"Mm."
Zhu Ju nodded and rose into the air.
"This herb field is about ten thousand mu, divided according to the Eight Trigrams. Each section grows different types of herbs: some for Bone Marrow Cleansing, some for advancing Cultivation, and some for strengthening the Soul."
"There’s a huge variety of Spiritual Medicines, but it doesn’t seem like there’s anything exceptionally rare."
"You’re right." Pei Jingque came back to her senses. She glanced down at the Spiritual Medicines she had gathered and said thoughtfully,
"Vermilion Fruit and Jade Peaches can help Innate Qi Refiners advance their Cultivation, and the Jade Marrow Mushroom can be used to refine Foundation Establishment Pills. While they’re all quite rare Spiritual Medicines, they aren’t very useful for a Dao Foundation Cultivator. And there’s practically nothing here that would be useful to a Golden Core Grandmaster."
"Besides, most of them are only a few hundred years old. There are very few Thousand-Year Spirit Elixirs, and ten-thousand-year-old ones are basically nonexistent."
Zhu Ju nodded.
"My guess is..."
he said slowly,
"this is probably just a garden for low-grade Spiritual Medicines. Given the resources of the Jade Void Sect back in its day, they must have had a separate, dedicated place for high-grade ones."
"If such a place exists, it wouldn’t be in this Secret Realm," Pei Jingque said, shaking her head.
"My Sect Leader Token only reacted to this specific spot within the entire Secret Realm. It was silent everywhere else."
Zhu Ju looked disappointed.
「A short while later.」
"The Snake Spirit Fruit can perform a Washing Marrow, the Vermilion Fruit increases Cultivation, and the juice of Seven-Star Grass has a wondrous effect, strengthening the Divine Soul."
Pei Jingque took stock of their harvest.
"With these three types of Spiritual Medicine, our Sect Disciples will have a smooth path all the way to the Dao Foundation."
"Indeed."
Zhu Ju sighed.
"No wonder almost all the True Disciples from the Profound Clarity Sect and the Celestial Yu Sect can reach the Dao Foundation. With this level of resources, anyone with even a shred of Talent is bound to succeed."
"Hah..."
"The Sect’s future disciples are truly blessed."
The Profound Clarity Sect and the Celestial Yu Sect were Major Immortal Sects with thousands of years of history; they surely had similar gardens of their own.
When their Disciples wanted for nothing, it was only natural that many of them would become extraordinary.
"Indeed," Pei Jingque said, gently stroking the basket.
"In the past, not even the Core True Inheritance of the Bright Void Sect received so many good things. We’ll need to come up with an excuse for this, though, to prevent the news from leaking."
Giving Spiritual Medicine to just the Core Disciples would be fine.
But if every Inner Sect Disciple also received a share, it would undoubtedly attract curiosity and lead to all sorts of trouble.
A ten-thousand-mu herb garden.
One mu could yield hundreds of Spiritual Medicines.
Millions of Spiritual Medicines...
Even if the Bright Void Sect picked and consumed them without restraint, it would still take decades to use them all up.
"The reason the Langya Secret Realm is so depleted of Spiritual Mechanism must be because it has all been gathered here."
Zhu Ju picked a Vermilion Fruit and examined it in his hand.
"To use an entire Secret Realm to nourish a single herb garden... The Jade Void Sect of old was truly extravagant."
...
The terrain of Nameless Mountain rose and fell like a coiled, sleeping dragon, making it a perfect location for setting up an Array.
Two thousand disciples were scattered across it.
Like diligent ants, they carved roads through mountains, beside pools, and along cliffs, constructing their new sect headquarters.
This was the Bright Void Sect’s new home, located near the Earth Abyss and surrounded by spatial rifts.
It was, in a word, impregnable.
At the mountain’s peak.
A great hall, formed by cutting and piecing together massive boulders with Magic, stood there. Though it lacked refinement, it was still majestic and imposing.
Zhu Ju sat on the main seat, took out a storage bag, and handed it to Shui Qianning, who stood before him.
Pei Jingque was still in the Secret Realm taking inventory of the herb garden and had not yet emerged.
"During the Sect Leader’s Golden Core ceremony, the various factions sent many fine gifts. The Sect Leader traded the ones she has no use for at the Marketplace for all kinds of Spirit Fruits."
"Distribute these to the Sect Disciples according to their merits, Talent, and Cultivation level. It will aid their own Cultivation."
"Yes."
Shui Qianning acknowledged and took the bag. The moment her Divine Thought swept inside it, her expression changed completely.
’So many?’
"That’s just a portion of it; there’s more to come," Zhu Ju said. "They followed the Sect a thousand li to this desolate place. If they can’t achieve Dao Foundation, they’ll likely never have a chance to return home in their lifetimes. Don’t be stingy with the distribution."
"The Sect Leader received a great many benefits from her Golden Core ceremony, including three Magical Treasures. Trading them for some Spirit Fruits is nothing."
"Martial Uncle," Shui Qianning said with a frown.
"The gifts Master received are debts that must be repaid in the future. She shouldn’t have to use her personal possessions to subsidize the Sect."
