Chapter 380: I Told You to Look at Me

  • Next Chapter

Above the void, white clouds drifted like foals. Dozens of figures stared in horror as Lin Yue’s body plummeted from the sky. Their eyes were vacant, as if they had witnessed the impossible. Then, their gazes shifted to the black-robed man before them, and their eyes filled with an unprecedented rage.

The middle-aged man in the lead, his eyes sharp as a hawk’s and clad in a black shirt, was incandescent with fury. Unstoppable killing intent gleamed in his eyes. “You will die!!”

He immediately channeled the vast True Yuan within his body, making the surrounding space tremble slightly. Taking a step forward, his eyes turned glacial as he uttered a bone-chilling command: “Everyone, kill!”

His frigid words seemed to freeze the very void around them. In the next instant, his figure shot forward like lightning, tearing through the sky with a roar of Powerful Qi. He drew back his arm, clenched his five fingers into a fist saturated with dense True Yuan, and lunged violently at Xiao Chen!

Simultaneously, the dozens of figures behind him erupted with the aura of their True Yuan. Forming hand seals for their Techniques, they fired off scores of True Yuan energy arrows that whistled through the air, blanketing the sky as they shot toward Xiao Chen.

Watching the sky full of True Yuan beams that pierced the void and bore down on him with the to shatter the firmament, Xiao Chen simply floated there, his hands clasped behind his back. His robes flapped, and his black hair danced wildly. His calm face held an expression that was three parts casual, three parts cold, and four parts utterly nonchalant.

Then, a cold glint flashed in his eyes.

“A swarm of ants!!”

“How dare you attempt to shake a giant elephant? Now, die for me!”

As his voice fell, the vast Magical Power within him began to circulate. A terrifying Dao Rhythm coiled around his body, and he radiated an unbelievably dreadful Momentum. In that instant, the entire world seemed to stand still.

“Annihilate!!” Xiao Chen’s voice was like a heavenly edict. Instantly, endless flames ignited for hundreds of miles around, transforming the area into an Endless Fire Domain. The raging inferno seemed poised to burn the very void to ash, turning the world into a cosmic furnace.

The next moment, the flames, carrying an endlessly terrifying Momentum, scorched the sky. Sweeping forward with ultimate, tyrannical power, they annihilated the barrage of Technique beams from the Cultivators as if crushing dead branches. Then, with unstoppable force, the flames surged onward, infused with a Solar Flame Power that could incinerate the very heavens.

Before the trembling, horrified eyes of the attackers, the fire almost completely annihilated the True Martial Cultivators suspended in the sky, turning them to ash that scattered in the wind. Only one Cultivator was left. His body was burned so severely that his ghastly white bones were exposed, and he hovered in midair, gripped by an unprecedented terror. His lips trembled as he stammered, “A… a Tongxuan… True Monarch!”

This was only because Xiao Chen had intentionally spared him; otherwise, there was no way he could have survived that single attack.

“S-Senior, spare me! We were blind and failed to recognize your greatness! Please, Senior, spare my life! I’m willing to go through hell and high water for you!” The Cultivator, his robes nearly burnt away to reveal terrifying, snow-white bones, lowered his head and spoke with a trembling voice, enduring immense pain.

“Look at me,” Xiao Chen said calmly. He floated in midair, hands behind his back, his expression impassive and serene.

But the Cultivator, his flesh nearly incinerated to reveal a gruesome, skeletal frame, seemed not to have heard. He kept his head bowed, his body trembling, not daring to move an inch.

“I told you to look at me!!”

Xiao Chen’s voice was bone-chilling, laced with Dao Rhythm. It boomed like a great temple bell, washing over the man.

The Cultivator, his body almost completely burned away to bone, looked as if he had been struck by lightning. He dazedly lifted his head. “S-Senior…”

Before he could finish, he was ensnared by Xiao Chen’s Netherworld-like eyes. The world spun around him, and he fainted as Xiao Chen’s Divine Sense flooded into his mind.

A moment later, after devouring every memory from the man’s sea of consciousness, Xiao Chen waved his hand. Raging flames erupted, instantly incinerating the man to ash that scattered between heaven and earth.

“‘The Lin Family of Tiannan…’ A cold glint flickered in Xiao Chen’s eyes. ‘Since they’re not far from here, I’ll just wipe out their entire family. Send them all to their graves.'”

‘Since I’ve already offended them,

‘I might as well exterminate the entire clan. Kill every last one. With my personality, leaving loose ends is out of the question.’

‘Besides, I love the feeling of ransacking a family’s estate. It’ll be another bountiful harvest.’

At this thought, an unintentional smile crept onto Xiao Chen’s face, and he let out a strange, cackling laugh.

Then, his figure flickered and transformed into a meteor from beyond the heavens. Whistling as it tore through the air, he streaked toward the distant horizon at incredible speed.

…

「Celestial Essence Realm, Eastern Profound Domain, Profound Celestial Sect」

Immortal peaks stood in great numbers, wreathed in floating white clouds and dense Spiritual Qi. From time to time, Cultivators could be seen riding streaks of light, weaving between the towering mountains. It was a scene of vibrant life, immense power, and grandeur.

At this moment, two figures hovered high in the sky.

“We’re finally back,” Gu Yun remarked with a sigh, gazing at the familiar scenery of the Sect.

“Yes, we’re finally back in the Sect,” Ye Xuantian said with a faint smile. “With your current strength, if those old geezers found out, they’d certainly get the shock of their lives.”

“You jest, Senior Brother. I am still far from your level. If I had but a fraction of your Divine Power, I doubt I would have been so thoroughly oppressed by that Demon Fiend,” Gu Yun replied with a sheepish smile.

“That’s not the same. Your strength now already far surpasses what mine was at your age,” Ye Xuantian said, shaking his head slightly.

“Haha, Senior Brother, you were peerless in your day, and even now, you remain in a class of your own, unmatched in all the world!” Gu Yun chuckled.

“Haha, you exaggerate, Junior Brother.”

“Now that we’ve arrived at the Sect, let’s part ways for now. I still have important matters to attend to,” Ye Xuantian said softly.

“Alright.” Gu Yun nodded.
