Death Flag System: I Became An Extra From The Author Who Killed Me!
Chapter 183: Professional Hater Making Way
It was as if they had gone back to the first day the Academy opened, with the people in the carriage looking over at the new school they were about to attend.
Well, technically, it was the previous Cillian who had seen the same scene back then, not Raymond. Still, he used Cillian’s memories to view the academy and came to realize that nothing had changed.
It was the same Sorcery Academy he knew, just in a different family.
He also took a huge breath.
’Damn. I love being inside a novel—no, wait. Right, this is real.’
Cillian looked at the Academy from outside, its massive stone walls and tall buildings that stretched across the campus. Several buildings rooted from the ground, connected by large stone bridges that allowed students to travel between buildings without going down to the ground floor.
More bridges could be seen further inside as they caught glimpses of them, some stretching between towering structures while others crossed over the roads below. The Academy was not larger than the one they had attended before, almost similar in size, but that didn’t change the fact that this Academy had its own uniqueness, especially since Xesie was the land of bridges.
For a moment, Cillian simply stared at it.
This was definitely going to be a place where he could get lost.
"You guys shouldn’t be surprised."
Willow, who was crossing her arms, suddenly spoke out loud. She and Dena were the only ones who weren’t looking curiously at the Academy from their carriage.
As for the reason, she soon revealed it.
"If... Viola’s Sorcery Academy wasn’t destroyed, there should have been a lot of events that we’d be able to experience, especially The Grand Sorcery Academy’s Annual Battle Celebration. But as you can see, everything has become chaotic. If that hadn’t happened, I’m sure everyone would’ve enjoyed their time there, no matter their statuses outside and inside the Academy."
The Sorcery Academy.
Even though it had become one of the powers that each family held within their territories, sticking close to the heir of each house was a guaranteed path to success in the Academy. In the past, when students were expected to study more about Sorcery, which was still the case now, though not as much, the Academy provided the best experience a student could have and promised them a good future.
’Damn it, I almost forgot that long-ass title Willow said with a straight face. It’s an academy tournament! Academy tournament! Cliché!’
Cillian sighed inwardly, thinking about the long-ass title that Willow had said regarding the celebration instead of the reason behind her words.
It really was just a tournament, that’s all.
But setting the tournament aside, Cillian knew that he had to agree with what Willow said. The Sorcery Academy was indeed the best place to nurture someone’s talents that could make noise throughout the whole world.
The Grand Sorcery—Academy Tournament is one of the events that can showcase someone’s talents in Sorcery. At the same time, it elevates the standing of one’s Sorcery Academy within their family.
After all, it was a source of power for them.
’I remember that the main character wanted to go to this Coliseum like the others in his group. If my mind is not messing with me, he said he wasn’t aiming for the rewards like the rest of them.’
Anything that happened at the Academy seemed like a distant past, even though only several months had passed since everything went to shit.
But now, it seemed they were returning.
’Heh, but I don’t care anymore. Whatever they want is something I’m not curious about. For me, I’ll discover the little secrets this family has kept and get solid proof of their involvement with the Shepherds, if there even is any.’
Academy tournament? Shepherds? The pink-haired bastards that secretly glared at him in the meeting room?
He’ll make a mess of everything.
’Thanks for the grand welcome, Xesie.’
The professional hater is accepting your invite.
...
’Of course this is natural.’
As they walked around the dormitories, the students of the Xesie Sorcery Academy looked at the students of the Viola Sorcery Academy with mixed expressions. Some were surprised, others gave them disgusted looks, and some were openly dissing them while muttering amongst themselves.
Why would they get this kind of treatment while roaming around the Academy?
Simple. Because they came from Viola.
As such, they were branded as Outcasts.
Bad outcasts, as a matter of fact.
Judging by the faces the students of the Xesie Sorcery Academy were making, it almost felt as if they were on the verge of jumping at them and dragging them back to Viola.
However, it didn’t happen because of the guards who were currently behind them, watching and surveying the area as if one wrong step from these students or their own guards would definitely result in a fight.
That’s right. Guards.
This was one of the changes that the entire Sorcery Academy had implemented to reassure the parents. Another layer of protection to protect the students from this place, which had doubled its security.
Of course, there were risks to this, such as these guards hurting the students, but the Sorcery Academy had already implemented rules regarding these changes.
One of the rules, for example, was that the guards always had to stick to the students they were guarding. Though there were a lot of ways to bypass this ’sticking,’ as there was no way they could be watched 24/7.
’That’s what I heard from Darwin and a few things that I’ve already known.’
Cillian mused inwardly before a voice called out to them, which had attracted the attention of the group.
"Guys. My room’s here."
It was Dennis with two guards behind him.
They all waved goodbye to him as Cillian, Phillip, and Vin went in one direction, while Dena decided to meet them later.
"I’ll be moving in this direction."
"I’m going left."
Soon, the group from the carriage started breaking apart as the rooms they were assigned were far from each other. Eventually, Cillian looked behind him, where both Phillip and Vin, his usual members, were still with him.
They were assigned to the same room after all.
The problem with these two was the fact that they didn’t have any guards yet. Cillian was planning on talking to them about it.
But that could wait for now since they had arrived at their dormitory room.
[001]
He was on the very top floor of the dormitory, with his room being the first one, and his two friends beside him.
’Hello, 001.’
