"Alright!" Gu Junzhu bent down to pick him up, "Then we’ll go hunting, and let mom make us some fresh mushroom soup!"

"Okay!" Xiao Shumiao agreed crisply, beaming with joy.

Ye Xingbei affectionately shook her head, "Go on, be careful."

"Yes, ma’am, Queen!" Xiao Shumiao saluted her.

Ye Xingbei was so amused by him, she pinched his cheek, "You’re getting cheekier!"

And so, the couple parted ways.

Gu Junzhu took Xiao Shumiao and Lingyue deeper into the woods, while Ye Xingbei, Xueno, and Yu Nuo returned to the campsite to wash mushrooms and prepare fresh mushroom and chicken soup.

Gu Junzhu, Xiao Shumiao, and Lingyue met up with two teams of bodyguards deep in the woods.

It wasn’t long before both teams of bodyguards each had game in hand, a testament to the abundance of wildlife in these woods.

Gu Junzhu took a bow and arrow from the bodyguards and continued forward.

Soon, a brightly colored pheasant flew past them.

Gu Junzhu bent the bow and released an arrow, which flew with a "whoosh," and the pheasant called out and fell to the ground.

"Wow! Dad, you’re amazing!" Xiao Shumiao exclaimed as he ran towards the pheasant.

Gu Chi and Gu Cheng followed closely behind him.

Xiao Shumiao squatted next to the pheasant, picked it up, and turned back to smile at Gu Junzhu, "Dad, look, the feathers on this pheasant are so pretty."

"Yes," Gu Junzhu said with a smile, "When they clean the pheasant, let them keep the feathers to make you a shuttlecock."

"I don’t want a feather duster!" Father and son were a bit far apart, and Xiao Shumiao heard "shuttlecock" as "feather duster": "Feather dusters are for spanking!"
