Chapter 2403: Chapter 2407: A Rose to Others
She felt that she was being a bit impolite with her anxious questioning.
But when it concerned her father’s life and death, she simply couldn’t keep calm.
"Not yet," Ye Xingbei said. "Ah Jue just contacted us, saying they need to take your dad’s blood sample back to the lab for testing. He said if necessary, he’ll work with his professor and classmates to study it. Rest assured, he’ll do his best."
Yao Yaya nodded, "Thank you. You saved my life and now you’re trying to save my dad’s. I really don’t know how to repay you."
"It’s nothing," Ye Xingbei shook her head. "Offering help leaves a lingering fragrance, saving you was just a small effort. Anyone would do the same, and it’s not really a life-saving grace, just helped you up a bit."
"It was a life-saving grace," Yao Yaya said. "This place is so remote, my foot was injured, and I couldn’t climb up. After dark, if I weren’t eaten by wild animals, I’d freeze to death."
Ye Xingbei smiled and shook her head, "It’s not that severe."
Yao Yaya didn’t argue further, but she remembered this grace well.
No matter if Ye Xingbei and the others could think of a way to save her father, Ye Xingbei and her husband’s life-saving grace towards her was real and genuine, and she would always be grateful to them.
She would repay them if given the chance in the future.
After eating the fruit, Ye Xingbei got up and went into the tent. Moments later, she came out with a cold towel and handed it to Yao Yaya, "Put it on your eyes."
Ye Xingbei pointed to her eyes, "They’re so swollen. If you ignore it, by tomorrow morning you might not be able to open your eyes."
"Thank you!" Yao Yaya smiled shyly at her and took the towel, placing it on her eyes.
After a few minutes, she removed the towel, and her eyes, which had been swollen and sore, indeed felt much better.
"This towel is clean," Ye Xingbei said. "You can keep it for use."
"Thank you," Yao Yaya suddenly laughed. "Since meeting you, I’ve been saying thank you, and those two words feel so inadequate in expressing my gratitude... I was too impulsive, couldn’t find a doctor, felt deeply troubled, lost my reason, and ran here all at once. If I hadn’t met you, I really wouldn’t know what to do."
"It’s okay, don’t think about it," Ye Xingbei said with a smile. "This shows we were destined to meet. We brought lots of tents, so feel free to rest here. We’re going back in two days, you can come back with us."
"In two days?" Yao Yaya looked at the sky. "It’s too late to leave today. I want to go back tomorrow... Since I can’t find a doctor here, staying here serves no purpose, I want to return to stay with my dad as soon as possible."
"Your ankle might not manage," Ye Xingbei looked at her ankle. "After a night’s sleep, your ankle pain will get worse, no way you can walk for such a long time, you need at least two days to recover."
"What should I do?" Yao Yaya was very anxious. "My father is still in the hospital..."
Ye Xingbei asked, "Isn’t there someone taking care of him?"
"Yes," Yao Yaya said. "My dad’s secretary and my good friend are there taking care of him."
"Then you should rest here for two days," Ye Xingbei said. "Ah Jue is already trying to think of a way for your dad, maybe he’ll have good news? Once you return to Beijing, other than staying by your dad’s side, there’s not much else you can do, right?"
