"Wanwan..." he murmured unconsciously.

After a moment, he would open his eyes to look at her again.

It was as if he was confirming that everything before him was real.

He had absolutely no kissing skills, gnawing at Bai Wanwan’s lips until they were sore.

She put up with it for a bit, but it was becoming unbearable. Finally, she raised her hands and cupped his face. "Don’t move so much. My lips are about to swell up."

At her words, Yan Lie didn’t dare to move recklessly anymore. Bai Wanwan stood on her tiptoes and took the initiative, guiding him.

The love for her in Yan Lie’s eyes was about to overflow. The heart in his chest wouldn’t stop pounding, THUMP THUMP THUMP.

Yan Lie’s face was full of unsatisfied desire. Those gray eyes were bright and filled with longing, but he didn’t make any further moves.

"You’re carrying cubs. They just kicked me."

Bai Wanwan looked down at her already bulging belly and couldn’t help but chuckle.

"Then why don’t you let me go?"

"No, I want to hold you a little longer."

Yan Lie shamelessly held onto her waist and shoulders, simply refusing to let go.

After composing himself for a moment, he lowered his head to seek her lips again.

Bai Wanwan had intended to push him away and go home, but when she saw his passionate eyes, she couldn’t find it in her heart to be cruel.

So she had no choice but to let him continue his antics.

This bout of foolishness cost her dearly.

By the time she headed back, her lips were stinging with pain.

She tightened her loose lapels and shot a reproachful glance at the male beside her.

Yan Lie only had eyes for her, unable to tear his gaze from her face for even a second. He was grinning from ear to ear, laughing nonstop.

"Aren’t you a silly one?"

"Wanwan, I’m so happy."

Yan Lie enveloped her small, soft hand in his own palm, unwilling to let go.

Bai Wanwan wasn’t shy about it. If he wanted to hold her hand, she’d let him.

Xin Feng saw them walking back from a distance. He lowered his gaze, and with a swipe of his Stone Knife, a large piece of meat was cut away, splattering blood all over the ground.

Soon, Bai Wanwan saw Xin Feng butchering the day’s hunt.

She pursed her lips, a sense of guilt rising in her heart.

"Yan Lie, you go on inside. I need to talk to Xin Feng about something."

Having just won her commitment, Yan Lie wished he could stick to her side forever.

But... ’Xin Feng never stood between me and Wanwan,’ he thought. ’In fact, I largely have him to thank for being able to become Wanwan’s Beast Husband.’

He willingly let go of her hand. "Alright, I’ll go in first then."

After Yan Lie went inside, Bai Wanwan stood in place for a moment before slowly walking toward Xin Feng.

Sensing the female’s approach, Xin Feng looked up. His voice was gentle as he reminded her, "There’s a lot of blood over here. Be careful it doesn’t splash on you."

"It’s fine. I’ll just stay here and keep you company."

Bai Wanwan simply squatted down a short distance away, silently watching him carve up the beast.

His fingers were exceptionally beautiful. Though he was doing something so bloody and brutal, watching him was a strangely pleasant sight.

’I’d better figure out how to bring up the matter with Yan Lie. In the heat of the moment, I just let him stay. Although it’s normal for a female in the Beast World to have several Beast Husbands, if I put myself in their shoes, no Beast Husband would happily welcome a new one.’

’Unless... he doesn’t care about me at all.’

She hesitated for a moment, then raised her eyes to sneak a glance at him.

"Xin Feng, I just made a decision without discussing it with you."

Bai Wanwan planned to confess everything to him.

Xin Feng was already mentally prepared. He hummed in acknowledgment, his gaze still gentle. "Whatever decision you make, I will be on your side."

His words made the tip of Bai Wanwan’s nose tingle, and her sense of guilt seemed to grow even heavier.

"I... I just asked Yan Lie to stay and become my Beast Husband."

As she spoke, her pretty eyebrows knitted together.

Xin Feng had already stopped what he was doing, his gaze fixed softly on her.

Then he got up, went to a nearby stone basin, and rinsed the blood from his hands before walking back to her side.

Bai Wanwan stood up as well, and the two of them faced each other.

She looked into his eyes, trying to discern the emotions within.

"Are you unhappy?"

Xin Feng raised a hand and tucked a stray lock of hair from her cheek behind her ear.

"If I said I was happy, I’d be lying to you."

He looked into her eyes. "But I know that if it wasn’t Yan Lie, it would be some other Beastman. I’ve seen how well Yan Lie treats you, and I approve of him becoming a member of our family. As long as you like him, Wanwan, I will try to accept it."

Bai Wanwan sighed. She didn’t need to try and figure him out anymore. Anyone in his position would be unhappy.

She tilted her head, leaned into his embrace, and wrapped her arms around his waist.

"You don’t always have to force yourself to accept things. If I do something wrong, or if you don’t like Yan Lie from the start, you can tell me."

"It’s not that I dislike him."

Although his heart couldn’t accept it right away, Yan Lie’s actions had long since earned his approval.

If Yan Lie wasn’t a good person, even if Wanwan liked him, he would have found a way to stop it, just like Zhu Xiu would.

"Then in the future, if there’s someone you don’t like, you can tell me. If you don’t like them, then I won’t like them either."

Xin Feng smiled and hummed in agreement.

Just then, Shi Hua called from inside that it was time to eat. Bai Wanwan straightened up. "Let’s go eat first. We can finish cleaning up later."

She had been worried that with Yan Lie’s change in status, things would be awkward between the two males.

But to her surprise, the two of them got along quite harmoniously.

Yan Lie continued to shoulder the task of hunting. But when he returned in the evening, and a restless Bai Wanwan wanted to go for a walk, he wouldn’t rest, instead accompanying her on a stroll through the tribe.

The entire tribe seemed very desolate.

In places that used to be bustling, now you couldn’t even see the shadow of a single Beastman.

Dilapidated houses were everywhere.

"Yan Lie, Xin Feng and Zhu Xiu don’t have families, so I’ve never asked them this, but you do. Do I need to go back to your home with you?"

She didn’t really understand the customs of the Beast World, so she had to ask to be sure.

Yan Lie squeezed her hand. "We don’t need to make a special trip. If we have a chance to go in the future, I’ll take you to meet my Father Beast and Mother."

"You came all the way out here and you’re not going back. Won’t they worry about you?"

"Don’t you worry. If they knew I became your Beast Husband, they’d be too happy to even sleep."

Bai Wanwan was amused by his words. "Just how unpopular are you with the females?"

Yan Lie immediately defended his reputation. "Wanwan, I’m very popular with the females in my tribe! They all want me to be their Beast Husband."

Bai Wanwan deliberately drew out her, "Oh?" and asked, "Really?"

"Of course, it’s true! You’ll see when you go back with me someday. The reason my Father Beast and Mother would be happy to know I became your Beast Husband is that I never liked any other female before, and they were getting very anxious."
