Bai Wanwan’s legs felt like jelly, and she could barely keep her eyes open. She just mumbled an incoherent "Mmm."

Zhu Xiu’s anger had long since faded. Seeing her so languid she couldn’t open her eyes, he gently poked her over the heart. "I need to be in here. Always."

Bai Wanwan hummed again, murmuring, "You don’t have to be afraid of the Dark Curse... I have... a way. It just... costs some Points."

With that said, she was simply too exhausted and fell completely unconscious.

Zhu Xiu stared at her beautiful, pale face.

Her voice was languid and soft. Although her words were muffled, he mostly understood what she meant.

’A way to break my Dark Curse?’

’Even if she does, it must come at a cost. Otherwise, Wanwan would have already done it for me.’

The forest wasn’t safe at night.

He grabbed the nearby fine hemp skirt, pulled her into his embrace, and guided her slender arm through the sleeve opening.

Xin Feng had just coaxed the cubs to sleep and was now boiling water.

He didn’t know if Zhu Xiu would bring Wanwan back, but it was still a good idea to prepare some hot water.

Hearing Yan Lie’s question, he looked up at him.

"Zhu Xiu is the strongest among us. You don’t need to worry when Wanwan is with him."

"But what if they’re attacked by a pack of beasts? He might be able to escape, but he might not be able to protect Wanwan."

The more he thought about it, the more scared he became. Yan Lie frowned. "No, I have to go look for them..."

With that, he bolted out of the stone house.

He hadn’t gone far when two figures appeared in the moonlight.

It was Zhu Xiu!

He uttered the two chilly words, clearly not wanting to say more, and walked past him into the stone house.

Yan Lie wanted to reach out and take Wanwan from him.

But one look at Zhu Xiu’s face made him wisely hold his tongue.

’Becoming Wanwan’s Beast Husband is the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to me,’ he thought. ’Zhu Xiu clearly hasn’t accepted me yet. I’d better stay away from him.’

’His place in Wanwan’s heart is definitely higher than mine.’

When he was done, Xin Feng placed the fine hemp cloth back into the stone basin and looked up at Zhu Xiu, who was standing nearby.

"Not angry anymore?"

’It would be a lie to say I’m not angry. But I can control it.’

’There’s another male in the house now. If I keep getting angry with Wanwan, I’ll only push the little female further away.’

Xin Feng didn’t need an answer; he could already tell.

He sat on a nearby stone stool, his gaze landing gently on Bai Wanwan’s sleeping face.

Zhu Xiu stared at him, his voice laced with sarcasm. "You’re not angry?"
