Jin Yuan had never imagined Bai Wanwan would come looking for her. Now, with Bai Wanwan standing right in front of her, her courage failed.

Jin Yuan nearly bit her tongue and frantically shut her mouth.

Xin Feng and Yan Lie followed close behind, stepping inside to flank Bai Wanwan, standing just slightly behind her.

"What am I here for? Don’t you know perfectly well?"

Jin Yuan had already backed up to the wall. With her back pressed against it, there was nowhere left to retreat.

Her heart hammered wildly in her chest.

In truth, she was quite tall and sturdy, a size bigger than the average female.

If it came down to a fight, three Bai Wanwans put together might not be her match.

She knew that if she admitted it, Bai Wanwan would never let her go. As long as she denied it to the bitter end, there was nothing Bai Wanwan could do to her. This was the Golden Lion Tribe, after all; the Clan Leader would never allow an outsider female to act so outrageously.

At that thought, she regained some of her courage. "If you’re looking for Shi Hua, then go look for her. Don’t keep me from my sleep."

The words had barely left her mouth when a hand seized her by the throat. "It seems all that scratching these past few days wasn’t enough for you. How about I make you scratch for the rest of your life? How about you wear that ruined face forever?"

Terrified by her words, Jin Yuan forgot to struggle. "Bai Wanwan, you wouldn’t dare! I am a respected female of the Golden Lion Tribe! If you do this to me, the Clan Leader will not spare you!"

Yan Lie and Xin Feng both stepped forward to shield Bai Wanwan.

Meanwhile, Mu Feng tore Jin Yuan from Bai Wanwan’s grasp.

His movements were brutal; he threw Jin Yuan directly into the courtyard.

Jin Yuan landed with a painful thud and shrieked. Then she saw her Beast Husbands lying on the ground outside.

She started crying and cursing at them, "You’re just going to watch them bully me? Aren’t you going to come and save me?"

Her Beast Husbands, though injured, scrambled to their feet, trying to rescue Jin Yuan from Mu Feng.

Mu Feng sidestepped them, then seized Jin Yuan by the neck. Her voice died in her throat.

He struggled to control his rage. If he weren’t still trying to find out where Shi Hua was, he would have snapped her neck in an instant!

"If anything happens to Shi Hua, I will kill you!" The words were forced through his clenched teeth, revealing the male’s boundless fury.

Hearing the female’s wretched scream, Jin Yi immediately entered with his men and had them pull Mu Feng away.

"First, let’s get the facts straight. If you lay a hand on a female again, I will have you escorted out of the tribe," Jin Yi warned Mu Feng, his gaze stern.

"A male can’t strike a female, you say? What about another female?"

Before Jin Yi could even answer, Bai Wanwan swung her hand and slapped Jin Yuan across the face.

Jin Yuan was completely stunned by the slap.

When the Young Clan Leader appeared, she had felt like she was grabbing a lifeline. Surely, no matter how bold Bai Wanwan was, she wouldn’t dare strike her in front of the Young Clan Leader. As long as she kept her mouth shut, Bai Wanwan would be helpless.

She never would have imagined that Bai Wanwan would dare to hit her right in front of the Young Clan Leader!

Jin Yi was also taken aback. He frowned, warning Bai Wanwan, "This matter is still under investigation. Even though you are a female, you can’t just go around harming other females."

Bai Wanwan paused, then continued in a rapid-fire tone, "And even if you were willing to accept responsibility, it wouldn’t bring my friend back."

"Then what do you propose?" Jin Yi sensed that this female had already made up her mind, and he was curious to see how she planned to handle the situation.

Bai Wanwan’s gaze locked with Jin Yi’s. She spoke slowly and firmly, "From this point on, I ask the Young Clan Leader not to interfere. I will make her tell the truth. If it turns out Jin Yuan has nothing to do with Shi Hua’s disappearance, then I will submit to any punishment you see fit and apologize to Jin Yuan in front of all the Beastmen of the tribe."

Yan Lie and Xin Feng stood by Bai Wanwan’s side. Although the two males said nothing, they flanked her protectively, their actions showing she had their full support.

Jin Yi did not agree at once, appearing to weigh his options.

Jin Yuan crawled across the ground to Jin Yi’s feet.

"Young Clan Leader, you mustn’t agree to her! Bai Wanwan is just holding a grudge because I threw dung water at her door last time. She’s using this as an excuse to get back at me."

Jin Yi looked down at Jin Yuan. He had known her since they were children and was well aware that she often bullied the other females.

There were constant complaints about her in the tribe, but her actions were never egregious enough to warrant punishment, so she had always gotten away with it.

Something shifted in Jin Yi’s gaze, and he took two steps back.

He shifted his gaze from Jin Yuan to Bai Wanwan.

"Alright. I will wait for you to give me an account of this."

Jin Yi was also curious to see what she would do. Besides, the female named Shi Hua had been missing for a long time; any further delay could indeed be very dangerous.
