Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 214: Bai Wanwan Is Missing
Chapter 214: Chapter 214: Bai Wanwan Is Missing
Bai Wanwan was disinfecting his wound with alcohol. She asked without thinking, "What words?"
"The words you said just now when you grabbed me and wouldn’t let me go."
Bai Wanwan was focused on wrapping his bandages. His reminder made her recall that in the heat of the moment, she had indeed said some rather mushy things.
She looked up at Yan Lie and saw that his eyes were bright, staring at her without blinking, full of anticipation.
Bai Wanwan shot him a look. "I’m not saying it."
With that, she finished tying the bandage. Just as she was about to get up, Yan Lie grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his lap, where she landed steadily in his embrace.
"Do you not want your leg anymore? You’re letting me sit on your wound."
Yan Lie tightened his arms, pressing their bodies together.
His breath, hot and quick, ghosted across Bai Wanwan’s neck. "Wanwan, I want to hear it."
Outside, the howls of beasts grew closer, and they could even smell a foul, musky stench.
"This is no time to be thinking about that."
Yan Lie squeezed her hand. "The cave entrance is small. They can’t get in. Even if they do, I can kill them while they’re stuck in the opening."
After that one explanation, he steered the conversation back. "Wanwan, say it again."
He grinned, his smile bright and sunny. His clear, handsome eyes were fixed on her as if she were his entire world.
In the end, she couldn’t resist his pleading gaze. She raised a hand to brush aside a stray lock of his hair and cupped his face. "Fine, I’ll say it again. The next time we face this kind of danger, I don’t want you to choose to sacrifice yourselves to save my life. I want us to face it together."
’If it happened again, I’d still protect Wanwan without a second’s hesitation.’
But now that they were temporarily safe, he just wanted to go along with whatever Wanwan said.
"Okay. I’ll listen to you."
"Shh, don’t talk anymore."
The tremors in the cave grew stronger, and the sounds of trees snapping rose and fell outside.
The THUMP THUMP THUMP of stampeding feet sounded as if it were right beside them.
The beasts were charging!
Yan Lie held Bai Wanwan tight, and both of them held their breath.
She leaned motionlessly against Yan Lie’s chest, her gaze fixed on the single patch of light.
Suddenly, a shadow blocked the light from the entrance.
Bai Wanwan clearly felt the hand on her waist tighten.
ROAR...
After a beastly roar, a massive head pushed its way in from outside the cave.
Bai Wanwan’s heart skipped a beat as she stared at the head that had suddenly appeared.
Yan Lie helped her to her feet and shielded her behind him.
The beast at the entrance struggled to get in, but the opening was too small, leaving its massive body stuck outside.
Bai Wanwan breathed a tentative sigh of relief, but soon, dirt began to crumble and fall from above.
’At this rate, it’s going to make the entrance collapse! We’ll lose our hiding spot!’
Just as Bai Wanwan was about to speak, Yan Lie had already shifted into his beast form, lunged at the creature, and sunk his teeth into its neck...
At first, the beast struggled violently, but it quickly fell still.
Worried that Bai Wanwan was scared, Yan Lie quickly retreated to her side.
The beast’s corpse now blocked the only source of light.
Yan Lie shielded her as they backed away. "Don’t be afraid."
He guided Bai Wanwan deeper into the cave, still comforting her in a low voice. "As soon as this beast tide passes, I’ll take you right back to the tribe."
"Mm, I’m not scared. Don’t worry about me."
As they spoke, there was sudden movement at the entrance again.
The beast’s body blocking the entrance was dragged away by something.
Light spilled into the cave once more.
Bai Wanwan saw a massive silhouette moving at the entrance.
The sound of heavy breathing was clearly audible. The creature seemed to be sniffing for something, letting out a dissatisfied growl.
Yan Lie released her, planning to move forward and repeat his earlier tactic.
But just as he let go of her, a much louder roar echoed from the distance.
The creature at the entrance seemed to have its attention drawn away. It let out a responsive howl, and then the heavy sound of its footsteps faded into the distance.
After that, they didn’t go near the entrance again. Several times, beasts lingered at the mouth of the cave, but none tried to come in.
Yan Lie held her, and the two of them leaned against each other, quietly waiting for time to pass.
The chaotic clatter of beast hooves gradually became more sparse.
"I think the beast tide has passed..." Bai Wanwan murmured.
"Let’s wait a little longer. It’s still dangerous to go out now."
Not only was it dangerous to go out now, but Yan Lie’s leg was still injured. If they went out, the beasts would catch his scent, and they would be in danger all over again.
It was better to stay here until he recovered. They’d be able to escape more quickly then.
They didn’t even need to go out to hunt; she had enough food in her dimensional space to get them through this crisis.

When Xin Feng and Mu Feng found Shi Hua, she was hiding inside a hollow tree.
"Huahua?"
Mu Feng rushed forward and scooped up his female. After checking that she was unharmed and breathing steadily, he was so overcome with joy he nearly burst into tears.
Shi Hua groggily opened her eyes. Seeing her Beast Husband, she let out a "WAHHH" and burst into tears.
"It’s okay, it’s okay. It’s all over..."
Shi Hua managed an "mhm" but had no time to say more. Her stomach had been hurting for half the day. She hadn’t felt it while she was asleep, but now that she was awake, the pain was back, and it was getting worse each time.
She panted, gasping for breath. "Mu Feng, my stomach hurts! Get me back to the tribe, quickly."
"Okay, we’re going back right now."
With a worried expression, Mu Feng picked up Shi Hua and started running back.
All the males breathed a sigh of relief when they saw the young female had been found.
Jin Yi’s expression also relaxed a little. ’He knew that if something had happened to this young female, Bai Wanwan would have surely punished all the other females involved.’
’At that point, as the Young Clan Leader, I wouldn’t have known whether to protect them or not.’
’This outcome is for the best.’
The forest was no place to linger during a beast tide. The group of males escorted Shi Hua, sprinting across the plains, and soon arrived back at the tribe.
Shi Hua’s condition was very poor. Her face was deathly pale, and she was wailing ceaselessly in pain.
"Xin Feng, Huahua isn’t doing well. Could you please go get the Clan Witch for me?"
"Okay. You take her back first. I’ll go get her right away."
By the time Xin Feng returned with the Clan Witch, Shi Hua had already given birth to two cubs.
Mu Feng, now a new Father Beast, was beaming with joy, unable to stop looking at his newborns.
Xin Feng also stood there for a moment before quickly heading toward his own home.
’It’s so late. Wanwan is probably already asleep.’
’But I still want to go check on her.’
He gently pushed open the door to Yan Lie’s room and slowly stepped inside.
But he soon realized something was wrong. Wanwan’s scent wasn’t in the room.
He quickened his pace. The stone bed was flat and empty. Not only was there no trace of Wanwan, but Yan Lie was gone too.
’What happened?’
Xin Feng spun around and searched the entire house, but he couldn’t find any sign of them.
His heart grew heavy. He transformed into a Silver Wolf, leaped out of the house, and raced toward the tribe’s main gate.
The Beastman guarding the gate stopped him. "The Young Clan Leader just gave an order. From now on, no Beastman is allowed to leave."
