Chapter 334: Chapter 334: Hiding Something from Me?

Bai Wanwan spent her days at home eating well and playing with the cubs.

It was a comfortable life.

Then one day, Yan Lie returned from outside, his head completely clean, without any snow piled on it.

She couldn’t help but ask, "Is the snow season over?"

Xin Feng came in from outside, carrying meat to feed the cubs.

"The snow has stopped. Once it melts in a few days, the snow season will be over," he said with a faint smile.

Bai Wanwan eagerly pulled on her shoes and ran to the window.

She tilted her head to look outside. Sure enough, the sky was a pristine blue, and even the sunlight seemed brighter, no longer a gloomy gray.

In high spirits, she stuck on a heat pack, put on her down jacket, and ushered her half-grown cubs outside.

"Come on, follow Mommy outside to build a snowman and have a snowball fight."

The wolf cubs could already shapeshift. However, they preferred their beast forms to play with their younger brothers and sisters, so they still looked like wolf pups most of the time.

Bai Wanwan scooped up a handful of snow and threw it at Yan Lie, who had followed her out.

Caught off guard, Yan Lie took the snowball to the forehead. He grinned, not minding at all, and wiped the snow from his face.

He immediately took off, chasing after Bai Wanwan.

Laughing, Bai Wanwan pelted him with snowballs as she ran.

The cubs copied her, packing snow with their paws and struggling to toss the snowballs at their Father Beast.

Yan Lie grabbed a handful of snow as well. Worried about hurting the cubs, he deliberately formed small snowballs and tossed one at each of them.

Far from being angry, the cubs spun around happily, yipping at him.

Yan Lie was incredibly patient. When the cubs hit him back, he would let out an exaggerated yelp, which only made them leap with delight.

"Here, let your Father Beast teach you. Roll it like this, and pack it down firmly."

"That’s it. Now throw!"

One wolf pup tossed its snowball carelessly, hitting its brother.

Instantly, the cubs dissolved into chaos, some running, some roughhousing.

Xin Feng leaned against the doorframe and watched, a slight smile on his lips.

Meanwhile, Yan Lie had deliberately distracted the cubs, his gaze now locked onto his female.

Sensing his intent, Bai Wanwan immediately hurled the two snowballs she had prepared.

He didn’t even try to dodge. Both hit their mark, covering his head with snow.

But with a sudden pounce, he pulled Bai Wanwan straight into his arms.

He shielded her as they rolled in the snow.

"Wanwan..."

His gaze was scorching, shining as brightly as stars.

Taking advantage of his distraction, Bai Wanwan shoved a snowball down the back of his neck.

Yan Lie shivered. "Wanwan, you’re so mischievous..."

With that, he held her hands. Seeing her eyes curve into crescents as she laughed with abandon, he started laughing too.

They horsed around for quite a while before Xin Feng finally came over and rescued Wanwan from his embrace.

"A little while is long enough to play. The ground is cold, and you’ll get sick if you stay out too long."

As he spoke, he brushed the snow from her.

"Just a little longer..."

Bai Wanwan hugged his arm, wheedling, "Just a little longer. I’ll go back as soon as I build a snowman..."

Xin Feng could never refuse her when she acted like this. With a sigh, he relented and started helping her build the snowman.

By the time Jin Yi returned, a snowman over a meter tall stood in front of their home.

Bai Wanwan had even put a Beast Skin Skirt on it.

"Jin Yi, come here! Look at the snowman I built. What do you think?"

Bai Wanwan had given it her all, but alas, the result was still rather abstract.

Jin Yi wanted to compliment it but honestly didn’t know where to begin.

Looking at its twisted features and dented head, Bai Wanwan herself couldn’t help but let out a snort of laughter.

"Never mind. This snowman is just too ugly. I won’t put you on the spot."

"Let’s go back inside. It’s cold out."

Xin Feng said, calling out to the cubs who were now running wild.

He called a few times, but the cubs paid him no mind, so Xin Feng had to go round them up himself.

Smiling, Bai Wanwan was led back into the house by her two Beast Husbands.

She was in such a good mood that a brilliant smile never left her face.

But soon, she noticed something wasn’t right with Jin Yi’s expression.

’Did he have something on his mind?’

Bai Wanwan turned and tilted her head, leaning in close. "Hiding something from me?"

Jin Yi cleared his throat and raised a hand to caress her pretty face. "I’m not hiding anything. There’s just something I need to tell you."

"Mm, go on."

Bai Wanwan sat up straight, showing she was ready to listen intently.

"I have to go away for a while. I estimate it’ll be about a month before I can come back."

Jin Yi said, pursing his lips as he enveloped her hand in his.

"Hm? Where to?"

Bai Wanwan was taken aback. ’The snow season isn’t even over yet. A month-long trip? Is he going far away?’

Jin Yi quickly explained his plan. "Wanwan, in the future, I’ll follow you wherever you go. But the Bear Clan’s hatred for the Golden Lion Clan runs too deep. I’m worried that after we leave, they’ll move against the Golden Lion Tribe again."

He paused before continuing, "So I want to take this opportunity to eliminate their High Rank Males. If I succeed, the Bear Clan won’t be able to harm the Golden Lion Clan for the next one to two hundred years. When our cubs eventually take over the tribe, it will save them a lot of trouble."

This was the last thing he wanted to do before he left.

If he hadn’t advanced to Orange Rank, he wouldn’t attempt something so risky.

But the Bear Clan Tribe has no Orange Rank male, so striking now is his safest bet.

It would also ensure the Golden Lion Tribe’s peace for a long time to come.

Therefore, this was something he had to do.

His only worry was that Wanwan wouldn’t agree.

"I will be cautious and I’ll definitely come back safely. Wanwan, do you agree?"

How could Bai Wanwan possibly disagree? She was more than happy to agree.

She had wanted to settle the score with the Bear Clan for a while, but between getting pregnant, giving birth, and raising the cubs, the house had been in an uproar.

She just hadn’t found the time to think about how to deal with the Bear Clan.

Jin Yi’s words, however, gave her an idea.

"You can go... but you have to take me with you."

Jin Yi’s expression changed instantly. "Wanwan, I’m not taking many Beastmen this time, so I won’t be able to protect you. Please wait for me at home, okay? I’ll feel more at ease that way."

Bai Wanwan squeezed his hand. "You’re misunderstanding me. I don’t mean you’re taking me. I mean we’re all going."

"Hm?" Jin Yi grunted in surprise.

"The Beastmen from the Bear Clan Tribe nearly killed you all. I’ve wanted to get revenge on them anyway. But let’s not be hasty. I can promise you that when we leave the Golden Lion Tribe, we will eliminate this threat before we go. How about that?"

"But I don’t want to bring you into danger."

"It’s less risky if I’m with you. Let’s wait a bit longer. We’ll wait for Zhu Xiu to wake up. When spring arrives and the flowers are in bloom—that will be the perfect time for revenge."

’Letting Jin Yi take the other males to the Bear Clan by himself—now that’s the real risk. She definitely couldn’t be at ease about that.’

’Her system balance had now reached over one hundred thousand. With her help, the risks Jin Yi and the others would face would be greatly reduced.’

But Jin Yi was still unconvinced. "Wanwan, if you come with me, I’ll be worried about you the entire time. Why don’t I go get revenge first and then meet up with all of you later?"

"No!" Bai Wanwan shook her head firmly. "You can’t act on your own. I would be worried about you. Trust me—if I go with you, the risk will be much lower."
