Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 337: Will You Love Me Forever?
Chapter 337: Chapter 337: Will You Love Me Forever?
That evening, Jin Yun’s favorite Beast Husband pushed the door open. He was startled for a moment to see Bai Wanwan and Jin Yi inside.
Bai Wanwan immediately greeted him. "Uncle, you’re back! Come in, please, have a seat."
The male, still unsure of the situation, grinned in response to such a warm welcome from his junior.
It wasn’t until he had entered the house and sat down that he saw his Wife’s dark expression and realized something was wrong.
"Uncle, Mother asked us to come and see how you’re doing. It’s getting late, isn’t it time to eat? I’m a little hungry. Why don’t we eat first and then continue our chat?"
The snow had only just melted, and every household had run out of stored food.
Bai Wanwan had her System Space, so she would never go hungry.
But that didn’t stop her from stirring up trouble for this "loving" family.
’There’s no right or wrong when it comes to love, I suppose.’
’Jin Yun is free to love whichever Beast Husband and cubs she prefers.’
’But since she chose to take a mate and bear a cub, she shouldn’t have been so biased as to inflict this kind of psychological trauma on Jin Yi.’
’That’s unforgivable!’
The middle-aged Beastman, who had never clashed with Bai Wanwan before, immediately got up to prepare some food.
But Jin Yun stopped him. "Don’t."
She was slowly regaining her composure, but her chest still felt tight with a suffocating anger.
"Don’t you have food at your own home? Must you come running to ours to beg for it? Jin Yi, I’ll say it one more time: take your female and get out!"
Bai Wanwan felt the hand clasped in hers tighten its grip.
His perfectly shaped lips pressed into a thin line.
"Don’t be angry. You have me to love you now. We don’t need her love, alright?"
’If you don’t care, it can’t make you angry.’
Jin Yi slowly turned his head, his gaze meeting her glistening eyes.
The churning fire in his chest began to settle. After a soft "Mm," he turned his gaze back to his Mother. "I am already mated. From now on, I listen to Wanwan."
Jin Yun never expected him to respond to her that way.
Though they weren’t close, Jin Yi had almost always done whatever she had asked of him in the past.
’And now he’s defying me for this female!’
"Jin Heng, throw them out! I don’t want to see them."
Jin Yun didn’t bother to hide the disgust in her eyes. She had dropped the act a moment ago, and she certainly wasn’t about to pick it back up.
But Jin Heng was in a difficult position. His Talent Power wasn’t high, and Jin Yi was the Young Clan Leader of the Golden Lion Clan.
So he could only try a more diplomatic approach. "Jin Yi, your Mother is just angry right now. Why don’t you take your little female home for now? You can come back for a visit after she’s calmed down."
Jin Yi’s expression was impassive. "I do as Wanwan says."
Bai Wanwan’s eyes curved into crescents as she smiled and waved at Jin Heng. "Uncle, you said it yourself, my Mother is just speaking out of anger. If she’s upset, then we should all sit down and talk things through. If we don’t clear the air... it could affect our relationship."
’What relationship?’
Jin Heng didn’t dare ask and didn’t dare speak. When Bai Wanwan once again mentioned that she was hungry and wanted to eat, he had no choice but to get up and bring out food.
Bai Wanwan looked at the meat on the table and frowned deliberately. "Uncle, this is our first time visiting you, and this is what you serve us?"
Jin Heng’s scalp tingled with anxiety. He was about to get up when Jin Yun grabbed him. She glared at Bai Wanwan. "This is all we have. Eat it or get out."
"Mother," Bai Wanwan said in a deliberately chiding tone, "didn’t I just tell you? Your face is getting as wrinkled as tree bark. You should get angry less. If you keep this up, Uncle won’t even be able to look at you anymore."
Without missing a beat, Bai Wanwan turned to Jin Heng. "Isn’t that right, Uncle?"
Jin Heng was still trying to figure out why the Young Clan Leader was acting so strangely—he’d never stayed this long before. Distracted, he subconsciously nodded when he heard Bai Wanwan speak.
The next thing he knew, a slap landed squarely on his face. "So that’s how it is, Jin Heng! After I’ve favored you most of all, you dare to find me ugly!"
"I didn’t!" Jin Heng cried, utterly wronged. But the furious Jin Yun had forgotten all about the younger generation watching the drama unfold beside them.
She raked her nails across Jin Heng’s body, again and again.
Bai Wanwan clicked her tongue as she watched, whispering to Jin Yi, "Your Mother really favors him the most?"
Jin Yi wasn’t in the mood, but he still answered her. "Yes."
"Doesn’t seem very favorable to me... Look what she’s doing to him, and all for one wrong word."
Jin Heng didn’t dare fight back or even truly dodge. Before long, his still-handsome face was a mess of scratches.
Bai Wanwan, for her part, seemed to have completely forgotten that she was the one who had been provoking Jin Yun’s anger all this time.
As Jin Yun continued her assault, she saw her beloved Beast Husband’s mangled face and suddenly felt a pang of regret.
Her eyes fell on Bai Wanwan, who was watching the spectacle with a cheerful smile. With a deliberate stumble, she lunged toward her, claws out.
"Wanwan, watch out!"
With lightning reflexes, Jin Yi yanked Bai Wanwan out of the way.
In her impulsive rage, Jin Yun hadn’t calculated the distance at all; she just wanted to claw up Bai Wanwan’s face.
As Jin Yi pulled Bai Wanwan to her feet, Jin Yun lost her target. She lunged into empty air and fell flat on her face, getting a mouthful of dirt.
"Mother, are you alright?"
Bai Wanwan shot Jin Yi a quick wink, then immediately broke free from his grasp to go "help" Jin Yun.
But being so "clumsy," she either stepped on the other woman’s hands or "accidentally" pinched her flesh while trying to pull her up.
"OW! OW! You vicious little wench, how dare you lay a hand on me?"
"Mother, what are you talking about? I’m trying to help you! Come on, get up! Why are you so heavy... Mother, maybe you should eat a little less. You’re almost the size of a mountain Pork Beast. It must be a real struggle for Uncle to carry you, hmm?"
Jin Yun twisted her head to glare at her, flames of fury practically leaping from her eyes.
Finally, overcome with rage, her eyes rolled into the back of her head, and she fainted.
"Mother! Mother, what’s wrong? Wake up!"
Bai Wanwan took the opportunity to shake her vigorously. The unconscious Jin Yun’s head buzzed, feeling as though her brains were about to be scrambled.
"Move aside!"
The male who had once wanted to be Bai Wanwan’s Beast Husband had been so tormented by her that he had completely lost all interest, now wishing only to never cross paths with her again.
A faint smile playing on her lips, Bai Wanwan slowly stepped aside.
Behind her, the father and son cried out in alarm, talking about fetching the Clan Witch.
Hearing this, Bai Wanwan calmly walked over to her Beast Husband, who had been standing silently to the side.
"Let’s go. We’re going home."
"Alright."
His large hand enveloped her small one, and they walked out of the stone house side by side, stepping onto the snow-covered ground.
"Are you angry about how I treated your Mother just now?"
Jin Yi looked over at her, and his usually cool and aloof eyes held a rare, profound emotion, as if they shimmered with fragmented starlight.
"I’m not angry. I know you were standing up for me."
Being protected by his mate like this filled his heart with an indescribable, enveloping warmth. All he wanted was to hold her tight.
So he stopped walking and pulled her into his arms.
"Wanwan... promise that you’ll always have eyes for me, alright?"
Bai Wanwan sighed softly and wrapped her arms around his waist. "Alright. I’ll always love you. And if anyone bullies you again, I’ll help you bully them right back, how about that?"
A low chuckle rumbled in the man’s throat. It traveled down into his chest, vibrating through him as his laughter grew louder and louder...
