Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 391: Her Everything Belongs to Him
Chapter 391: Chapter 391: Her Everything Belongs to Him
Chou Rong said nothing more, just leaned down and kissed her...
Yan Lie paced back and forth outside for a long time. When he turned, he saw Zhu Xiu still sitting on the stone bench, unhurried and unflustered.
"Wanwan’s been in there for a long time!"
Zhu Xiu stared at the door, his heart far from the calm his expression suggested.
A suppressed fury simmered in the depths of his crimson-glowing eyes.
He knew it. ’A male who could truly threaten him has appeared.’
The door opened with a CREAK.
Wanwan’s cheeks were flushed, her lips a little plumper.
As she emerged, she tugged at her clothes with a guilty conscience.
Nothing had truly happened in there just now.
But she had almost been eaten clean.
’Where does he get so much energy? He was already up to no good for half of last night.’
"Finished talking?"
Zhu Xiu’s voice carried the stillness of the calm before a storm.
Wanwan immediately looked up at him.
"Mhm, we’ve talked it through."
"If you’re done, then let’s go."
He closed the distance in two strides, taking her hand to lead her away.
She could clearly feel the "I’m angry" signals radiating off the male.
But since Zhu Xiu wasn’t saying anything, she didn’t want to be the one to step on a landmine.
She turned to look at Yan Lie. He, too, wanted to be like Zhu Xiu and Chou Rong and bravely display his anger.
But the moment Wanwan’s gaze swept over him, his heart melted.
Holding her other hand, he watched her give him one meaningful look after another.
Yan Lie leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Don’t tell me you don’t know what he’s angry about."
"I know, but I don’t know how to calm him down."
"Then what if I get angry too?" Yan Lie pouted, looking aggrieved.
Wanwan sighed and squeezed his hand. "How about I make it up to you when it’s my turn to spend time with you?"
Yan Lie immediately beamed, not a trace of his unhappiness left to be seen.
’Yan Lie was definitely the easiest one to coax in the entire household.’
She quickly gave him a look. "You take the cubs back first. I’ll find you when I get back."
"You promised. You’d better keep your word."
"Mhm, I did."
Although they had deliberately lowered their voices, there was no way their words could escape the ears of the male standing right there.
Zhu Xiu waited until Yan Lie had left before yanking her to his side.
"Bai Wanwan, you can placate Chou Rong, and you can placate Yan Lie..." A heart-stopping, cold light glinted in the depths of his crimson eyes. "How many more Beast Husbands are you planning to coax home?"
"What’s wrong?"
Zhu Xiu’s temperament had always been this way, but he was already learning to accept her Beast Husbands.
Even when he’d been angry before, it was mostly directed at the other males, rarely at her.
She planted her feet in front of him and cupped his face in her hands. "If I could, I would never want to make any of you feel upset or angry."
Zhu Xiu said nothing, just stared at her.
"Is it because of Chou Rong?" Wanwan asked, as if she had found the crux of the issue. "If you’re worried about him, then let me tell you about my past with him. How about you listen to the whole story, and then we can talk?"
Zhu Xiu frowned. Though he didn’t speak, he seemed to tacitly agree.
"When I first arrived in the Beast World Continent, my Life Value was about to expire. The only way to save my life was to mate with a male and conceive cubs. And that male was Chou Rong. In truth, he was an innocent party—he didn’t like me, and at the time, he even hated me."
Zhu Xiu frowned. ’How dare he hate her!’
"I was the one who forced myself on him. He didn’t know which female had done it; if he had known at the time, he probably would have killed me. Later, Wandering Beasts destroyed the entire tribe. I had just given birth, and Xin Feng helped me escape, but I lost one of the cubs."
"He found that cub, and you already know what happened after that. So now I’ll tell you about when we met again."
Wanwan felt that there was a thread of fate connecting her and Chou Rong. Since the heavens had arranged it this way, she would just have to accept it.
"Later, I lost my memory. Yin Ze told me those cubs were mine and Chou Rong’s, so I subconsciously treated him as my Beast Husband and provoked him once again."
She lifted her head, her eyes glistening. "So, in this whole affair with Chou Rong, it’s always been my fault. I was the one who approached him, time and time again. To be honest, with his personality, he never would have fallen for me if I hadn’t actively pursued and provoked him."
Zhu Xiu’s expression softened slightly. He raised a hand to caress her delicate brow, but a soft scoff escaped him. "Wanwan, how can you be so sure he wasn’t willing the second time?"
Wanwan blinked, and Zhu Xiu continued, "He wanted to kill you the first time, but he let you go in the end. But the second time, when you came back to him, he could have explained everything clearly. He didn’t. Because... he wants you."
Wanwan’s heart skipped a beat.
There were so many other factors mixed up in her relationship with Chou Rong that she’d never even considered he might like her.
’It’s just because of the cubs that connect us...’
His hand drifted slowly downward, coming to rest over her heart.
"Chou Rong’s intentions aren’t pure, but his place with you can never be above mine."
Looking into his eyes, which were now tinged with a dangerous light, Wanwan immediately stood on her tiptoes, wrapped her arms around his neck, and nodded repeatedly. "Okay, he won’t. No one will ever come before you."
Wanwan could completely understand how they felt. If she were in their shoes, having to compete with a group of women for one man’s affection, she figured she would either go crazy or just walk away.
Someone with a personality like Zhu Xiu had clearly suppressed his explosive temper many times, yet on every occasion, he had chosen to stay because of her.
What more was there to say? All she could do was try her best to maintain a balance and be good to them.
"It’s still early. Shall we go for a walk?"
After a moment of affection, Wanwan hugged his arm and swung it gently.
The dangerous aura around Zhu Xiu had indeed mostly dissipated.
He knew he would have to resolve what was left of it on his own.
"Where do you want to go?"
Hearing him ask this, Wanwan knew the matter was pretty much over.
A smile bloomed on her cheeks. "Let’s just go for a walk, just the two of us."
The two of them chatted as they walked, a happy and joyful smile never leaving Wanwan’s face.
The twilight enveloped their figures, washing over them in a faint golden light.
This scene was frozen in the eyes of Roger, who watched from a distance.
Her smile was a sweet fruit, and he, like a Wandering Beast lurking in the shadows, could only watch, forever unable to possess it.
He watched their figures grow distant, until they disappeared completely.
"Captain, we’ve converted thirty Tiger Clan males. Only ten of them are Yellow Rank."
"Keep going. We need to convert at least one hundred Tiger Clan Beastmen."
"Yes, Captain."
Roger noticed the male beside him hadn’t left and turned to look at him.
"Anything else?"
"Captain, a message from the Beast God. We are to accelerate our pace. There isn’t much time left for us with the remaining tribes."
"Mmm. Understood."
His gaze returned to the path ahead, but there was no longer any trace of Bai Wanwan.
But he knew that one day, everything about her would belong to him!
