Roger’s figure vanished into the entrance of a half-submerged cave at the base of the cliff.

Like a gecko, Jiao Yin clung to the damp rock face near the cave mouth, holding his breath and concentrating.

A female’s voice, tinged with nervousness and forced calm, drifted out from the cave. "You... why are you back so soon?"

It was followed by the male Beastman’s cold, suppressed question, one that held the quiet fury of a gathering storm. "Do you recognize this?"

Pieces of torn Jue Sha fabric were thrown viciously to the ground.

After a brief silence, Bai Wanwan drew a sharp breath, trying to feign ignorance. "The clothes were ruined, so I threw them out."

Jiao Yin heard heavy footsteps closing in on the female.

Then, the male Beastman’s voice—as cold and sinister as a snake’s hiss, chilling to the very bone—reached Jiao Yin’s ears with perfect clarity:

"Bai Wanwan, I haven’t touched you because I was giving you time to accept me."

"But if you keep pulling these little stunts, keep trying to escape..."

Bai Wanwan’s brow tightened. She was truly afraid that if Roger went mad, she would have to use the laser gun to save herself.

"I told you, the clothes were just torn, so I threw them out!" she retorted, doing her best to remain calm as she confronted him.

Pressed against the cold rock wall, Jiao Yin’s gaze turned utterly frigid.

’No wonder this noble female was here.’

’She’d been imprisoned by that powerful male through despicable means...’

Jiao Yin silently withdrew, diving deep into the sea.

He rushed to the territory of the Crocodylus porosus Clan at top speed. Drawing upon his immense power and the authority of the Merfolk King, he used swift, decisive measures to suppress their unrest and temporarily resolve the situation.

He didn’t linger. After dealing with the core of the conflict, he immediately returned at full speed to the area near the cliffside cave where Bai Wanwan was trapped.

He waited patiently, lurking in the water beneath the cave like a master hunter.

At last, he saw the sinister male emerge from the cave once more.

Jiao Yin waited a moment. After confirming that Roger was a safe distance away, he surfaced as silently as a phantom and agilely climbed into the cave.

The light inside the cave was dim. Bai Wanwan had her back to the entrance.

Hearing the splashing and footsteps behind her, she assumed Roger had feigned his departure and returned.

However, the voice that replied from behind her was deep and pleasant, with a cool edge and a hint of familiarity.

"It seems you need some help?"

In the dim light, Jiao Yin’s face came into view—impossibly handsome, like that of a sea god. His long, silver hair seemed to emit a faint glow of its own!

"It’s you!"

Bai Wanwan’s voice was choked with emotion as she practically lunged toward him.

Jiao Yin looked at the female before him. Though she was a bit haggard, her face was still exquisitely beautiful.

A fire burned in the eyes she fixed on him—the will to survive.

They were so bright they made his heart flutter.

"Alright. I’ll get you out of here, and then I’ll notify your Beast Husbands." His voice was steady and powerful, carrying the weight of a promise.

Jiao Yin reached out, wrapping an arm around Bai Wanwan’s slender waist as he prepared to leap with her into the sea.

At that critical moment, a voice thick with suppressed fury exploded from the mouth of the cave.

"Where do you think you’re taking her?"

Roger was still holding the fish he had just caught. He glared furiously at the two people embracing inside the cave, his eyes fixed on the hand Jiao Yin had wrapped around Bai Wanwan’s waist.

Jiao Yin reacted in a flash. He pushed Bai Wanwan behind him as a powerful energy burst from his body, forming a spinning shield.

The two powerful forces collided violently. The entire cave seemed to shake, and loose stones pattered down from the ceiling.

Jiao Yin’s heart went cold. ’This male’s strength is far greater than I estimated, especially that cold, violent Dark Energy. It’s highly corrosive!’

’I might not lose to him in a one-on-one fight,’ he thought, ’but escaping completely unharmed with a defenseless female in tow will be incredibly difficult!’

The shockwave from the impact sent Bai Wanwan stumbling back several steps, her back hitting the stone wall.

Seeing this, Roger subconsciously took a few steps forward, wanting to check if she was hurt.

But then he remembered how this detestable female had just been about to leave with the Merfolk before him.

He forced himself to halt, turning his attention away from her and launching another attack at Jiao Yin.

At her words, Jiao Yin feinted an attack without hesitation, instantly retracting his power and pulling back. Like a bolt of lightning, he once again wrapped his arm around Bai Wanwan’s waist, pushed off with the tips of his toes, and leaped decisively toward the churning sea outside the cave!

"Bai Wanwan, get back here!" Roger roared, watching helplessly as the pair plummeted toward the sea. He immediately gave chase without hesitation.

A blinding beam of incandescent white light, like a thunderbolt tearing through the darkness, shot from the muzzle in an instant!

The beam shot with pinpoint accuracy into the heart of the furiously spinning vortex of Dark Energy!

There was no earth-shattering explosion, only an eerie sound, like ice and snow melting away.
