Chapter 45: She Is Indeed a Holy Female

Chapter 45: Chapter 45: She Is Indeed a Holy Female

"Don’t look! It’ll scare you!"

Xin Feng covered her eyes, worried the Wandering Beastmen would frighten her.

But Bai Wanwan grabbed his hand, pulled it away, and continued to look back. "Were they born with those deformities?"

The Wandering Beastmen were grotesquely burly. Various parts of their bodies seemed to be disfigured, as if they were misshapen.

"They aren’t congenital. Many of them are males who were born in the major tribes but were expelled for committing crimes or abandoned by their own females. Once they became homeless, they sought refuge in the Wandering Beast City..."

Xin Feng noticed some Wandering Beastmen looking their way and quickened his pace. As he walked, he continued, "To tame them and stop them from longing for tribal life, the City Lord of the Wandering Beast City has them disfigured. That way, other Beastmen can identify them as Wandering Beasts at a glance and will stay away."

Just as Xin Feng finished speaking, Hu Ya and her Beast Husbands happened to rush out of a cave.

Hu Ya saw them, completely ignoring Bai Wanwan, and shouted happily to Xin Feng, "Xin Feng, wait for me! Let’s go together!"

Xin Feng ignored her and walked even faster.

The snow made travel difficult, so Xin Feng simply transformed into a Silver Wolf. "Wanwan, hold the cubs and sit on my back. I can carry you faster."

"Alright."

It was her first time seeing Xin Feng’s beast form. He had silver-white fur and a body much larger than a typical wolf’s. By modern standards, at least, his size was comparable to a leopard’s, maybe even slightly larger.

She grabbed a handful of Xin Feng’s fur and struggled to pull herself up onto his back.

"I’m settled, Xin Feng. Let’s go."

The Silver Wolf rose, majestic and imposing. With powerful limbs, it bounded lightly through the snow.

Bai Wanwan clutched the cubs, shrinking her neck into her shoulders. ’It’s freezing!’

Many Beastmen from the Cat Clan Tribe were also forced to flee in this direction.

As they ran, they cried for help, "Help!"

But the Wandering Beastmen were ruthless. They felled each male with a single swipe of their claws, leaving no survivors, and then piled the bodies together.

Bai Wanwan glanced back just in time to see a Wandering Beastman tear the leg off a male from the Cat Clan Tribe, pick it up, and begin to gnaw on it.

The sight was so sickening she almost threw up the hot pot she’d just eaten.

"There’s a Silver Wolf over there! He ran off with a female! Quick, after them!"

The Wandering Beastmen all turned to look in Bai Wanwan’s direction.

"We’ve been spotted! Xin Feng, we have to hurry."

She didn’t dare to imagine what would happen if these savage Wandering Beastmen caught Xin Feng. Would they devour him on the spot?

And as for her... what fate would befall her?

Only then did she slowly begin to realize that the Beast World Continent was far more dangerous and bloody than she had ever imagined.

"Hurry up and chase them!" Hu Ya anxiously urged her Beast Husbands to catch up to Xin Feng.

But Xin Feng was too fast. In the blink of an eye, he was already far in the distance.

"Yaya, it’s too late to catch him. We should hurry and break out from the other side."

Nearby, seven or eight grotesque Wandering Beasts began to surround them.

Hu Ya trembled in fear. Watching Bai Wanwan disappear into the distance, she cursed her incessantly in her heart.

’I only wanted the Wandering Beastmen to take Bai Wanwan away quietly. Why did they have to slaughter all the Beastmen of the Cat Clan Tribe?’

’I didn’t want this. I never meant to harm the entire tribe! I just wanted them to take Bai Wanwan away.’

’But now Bai Wanwan has escaped, and the Beastmen of the Cat Clan Tribe are either dead or wounded...’

Sitting on her Beast Husband’s back, she suddenly pointed ahead like a madwoman and shrieked, "Go get her! She’s a Holy Female! If you catch her, she can bear endless cubs for you Wandering Beasts!"

Hearing her, a Wandering Beastman leader in the distance whipped his head around to look at the faraway Silver Wolf.

’That’s a Holy Female?’

’A Holy Female, appearing in a small tribe like this?’

’But whether she is or not, we can’t let a single female get away!’

"Go! Bring that female back to me!"

Xin Feng’s Talent had completely recovered. His speed was incredible, and he shot past two Wandering Beasts that tried to intercept them from the front.

"Wanwan, hold on tight!"

Bai Wanwan was almost thrown off. Her whole body tensed as she hugged Xin Feng’s neck tightly, burying her face in the fur on his back.

The wind whistled in her ears as the Wandering Beasts pursued them, shouting all the while...

After a while, Bai Wanwan’s hands were so frozen they were almost numb. She felt like she could lose her grip and be thrown off at any moment...

"Xin Feng, I can’t hold on much longer! Have we shaken off those Wandering Beasts yet?"

Xin Feng quickly slowed down. "We’ve lost them for now. The deep mountains aren’t safe. I’ll follow the base of the mountain and find a safe place to spend the night."

It was the snow season, and the temperature would drop even lower at night.

’Females are fragile. The cold could kill her.’

"Okay, you know the situation out here better than I do. I’ll listen to you."

Xin Feng skirted the base of two mountains before suddenly coming to a halt.

He looked around warily.

Bai Wanwan noticed and was just about to ask him what was wrong when she heard a deafening tiger’s roar.

Xin Feng raised his head toward the forest ahead and opened his mouth.

A powerful, intimidating howl echoed out.

After a moment of silence, the figure of a wild beast slowly emerged from the woods ahead.

’Damn!’

’It’s a tiger!’

Bai Wanwan’s face paled. She had only one thought: ’Can a wolf beat a tiger?’

The Silver Wolf’s fur stood on end. Without turning his head, he stared straight at the tiger and said to Bai Wanwan, "Wanwan, take the cubs and get down. Stay by the mountain wall and don’t move, no matter what."

Bai Wanwan obediently slid off his back, her legs feeling a little weak.

"Xin Feng, that’s a tiger. Can you win?"

’If he can’t win, he, the cubs, and I are all going to be tiger food.’

"I’m a Beastman. It’s just an ordinary tiger. Don’t be afraid!"

He was comforting her with his words, but in reality, he was at a great disadvantage.

’If I were alone, I wouldn’t fear this tiger at all. But if I get careless and let it find an opening to hurt Wanwan and the cubs, what’s the point of killing it then?’

******

Roger led his caravan, traveling for a day and a night before finally arriving at the Cat Clan Tribe.

"Captain, something’s not right. Look."

Roger walked to the edge of the mountain and looked down. The Cat Clan Tribe was filled with the corpses of Beastmen.

"The Wandering Beastmen attacked the Cat Clan."

Roger’s expression instantly darkened.

’I can’t believe I’m a step too late. Did that male, Lu Yi, lie to me?’

’Did he leak the information before telling me?’

’Damn it!’

’If Bai Wanwan falls into the hands of those Wandering Beastmen and gets taken to the Wandering Beast City, there’d be no way for me to rescue her, even if I had god-like powers.’

He observed for a while. There were at least several dozen Wandering Beastmen in the Cat Clan Tribe.

If their caravan went down for a direct confrontation, they wouldn’t stand a chance.

"Hold your positions!"

After giving the order, Roger quickly changed into his beast form and slipped into the forest.

The black wolf carefully approached the Cat Clan Tribe, step by step, getting closer and closer.

"Chief, I’ve asked the other Beastmen in the Cat Clan Tribe. That female named Bai Wanwan is indeed a Holy Female."

A hoarse laugh followed. "Good! Excellent! All of you, get out there and search for me! You must find the Holy Female! As long as we find the Holy Female and bring her back to the Wandering Beast City, the City Lord will surely reward us handsomely!"

Hearing this, Roger quietly retreated.

’So Bai Wanwan already escaped. Thank goodness!’

’As long as I can find Bai Wanwan before the Wandering Beastmen do, there’s still a chance.’
