Chapter 508: Chapter 505: Reunion

Yin Ze felt deep down that he and all her other partners were the luckiest males in the world to have met a female as good as Wanwan—one who genuinely cared for her males with all her heart.

He was so incredibly lucky to have earned her heart and her precious affection.

His arms tightened subconsciously, wishing he could fuse her small, soft body into his very being and spend his life protecting her with everything he had.

Outside the cave, the wind and rain still raged, roaring like a furious beast trying to destroy everything.

But inside the cave, a warmth and love flowed between the embracing pair, enough to ward off any storm or bitter cold.

In Yin Ze’s warm and reassuring embrace, a mix of emotions kept Bai Wanwan awake for a long time.

It wasn’t until the dead of night that she finally, unknowingly, succumbed to her exhaustion and fell into a deep sleep.

When she opened her eyes again, she was greeted by the sight of bright, warm sunlight spilling in from the cave entrance.

She squinted slightly, her eyes adjusting to the light. Outside, the sky was a clear, cloudless blue. The azure sea was as calm as a giant gemstone, with only a few seabirds occasionally skimming its surface.

The apocalyptic storm from the night before seemed to have been nothing more than a harrowing nightmare, leaving no trace behind.

"You’re awake?" a gentle voice asked.

Xin Feng walked over, carrying a small coconut-shell bowl filled with clear water. He squatted beside her and handed her the bowl and a clean, soft cloth to wash up. "How are you feeling? Do you feel unwell anywhere?"

Bai Wanwan gave him a bright smile and shook her head. She took the coconut bowl and quickly, but carefully, freshened herself up.

The cool water woke her up completely.

"When did the storm stop? Did you... did you all get any rest?" she asked with concern, tidying her messy hair as her gaze drifted to the figures at the cave entrance.

They already seemed busy, but they looked to be in good spirits.

"It gradually let up in the second half of the night," Xin Feng replied gently, taking the used cloth from her. He deliberately downplayed their hardship. "We took turns resting for a while. Don’t worry."

Bai Wanwan understood how hard it must have been for the males, but she didn’t call them out on it. She simply tucked away her concern for them in her heart.

She took the roasted fish from Xin Feng and quickly finished her breakfast to regain her strength.

Just then, Shuang Hua came in with a few of the cubs, who were still sleepy-eyed but had regained their energy.

"Wanwan, you’re awake? After all that chaos last night, did you catch a chill?" With genuine concern on her face, she hurried over and, without a word, placed a hand on Bai Wanwan’s forehead to check her temperature.

Bai Wanwan relaxed, letting her check. She felt the warmth and care from the other woman’s palm, and a warmth spread through her own heart.

"Aunt Shuang, I’m fine. Really, I’m okay."

Once she confirmed Wanwan’s temperature was normal, Shuang Hua let out a long sigh of relief. Cradling a small cub, she sat down beside her, a trace of lingering fear still on her face. "I’ve lived a long time, but I never knew a storm at sea could be so terrifying! It felt like the world was ending!"

She raised a hand and lovingly smoothed Bai Wanwan’s slightly disheveled hair, her eyes filled with tenderness and lingering fear. "You were so young back then. How did you end up on another continent? The thought that you might have gone through storms even worse than this... Thank goodness! Thank goodness the Beast God watched over you and let you grow up healthy and safe."

As an orphan, Bai Wanwan had never known the taste of a mother’s love. She never imagined that after crossing into the Beast World, she would feel such a sincere and pure maternal affection from an older female like Shuang Hua.

She could clearly feel that the other woman genuinely cared for and cherished her.

A bittersweet warmth surged in her chest. Bai Wanwan couldn’t stop herself from wrapping her arms around Shuang Hua’s waist and resting her head on her shoulder. Her voice was muffled but full of conviction. "Yes, the Beast God will always protect us. Don’t be afraid, Aunt Shuang. Storms at sea don’t happen all the time. Look, clear skies always follow the rain. We should leave right away while the weather is good. In a few more days, we’ll have crossed this ocean and be home!"

"Yes, I’m not afraid. With all of you here, I’m not afraid of anything," Shuang Hua said reassuringly, gently patting her back.

Bai Wanwan then turned to check on the Merfolk female and her cubs. "How are you all? Are your injuries any better?"

She noticed the Merfolk female’s wounds were no longer bleeding, and her complexion had improved greatly.

The Merfolk female, holding her cub, had a face full of gratitude and a gentle smile. "Thank you for your concern. We’re all much better. My Beast Husbands are also recovering quickly, thanks to your medicine. We are truly grateful to you."

"There’s no need to be so formal," Bai Wanwan said with a smile. "Your king saved me once, too. It’s only natural that we help each other."

Bai Wanwan left it at that, not elaborating further, and the Merfolk female was considerate enough not to press for details.

The mention of Jiao Yin caused a faint ripple in the calm lake of Bai Wanwan’s heart.

The image of that beautiful, slightly melancholic figure surfaced clearly in her mind.

’I can’t deny it; I have a special fondness for him, a reluctance to let him go.’

’But... I can’t be greedy anymore.’

’I already have Zhu Xiu, Yin Ze, Xin Feng, Yan Lie, Jin Yi, Hua Han, Chou Rong...’

’Every single one of them gives me his all. I can’t, and shouldn’t, ask for more.’

’This budding affection has to be suppressed.’

She quickly found something to do, busying herself by straightening the animal hides in the cave.

After everyone had finished packing and was ready to leave, Zhu Xiu walked in with a steady gait and looked at her.

"Wanwan, are you ready?"

"Yes, all ready."

"Alright, let’s go!"

With so many people, including the injured Merfolk, they could no longer all ride on Yin Ze’s back as a Phoenix.

The males gathered materials from their surroundings, quickly fashioning several sturdy rafts from strong logs and tough vines.

Hua Han, Yan Lie, Xin Feng, and other males used their Talent Power to propel the rafts, allowing them to cut steadily through the waves.

Meanwhile, Zhu Xiu and Jin Yi stayed with the females and cubs, still riding the Phoenix.

Yin Ze soared between the blue sky and the turquoise sea, but he slowed his pace to stay with the rafts below.

After another two days of smooth flying and sailing, they finally began to leave the deep ocean behind and enter the waters frequented by the Merfolk.

"Look! It’s our people! It’s our patrol!"

A Merfolk male on one of the rafts shouted, pointing excitedly at a group of figures that had appeared on the distant sea.

At the sound, Bai Wanwan looked down. There, on the sun-drenched surface of the sea, dozens of powerful Merfolk warriors were cutting through the waves on patrol.

And at the head of the patrol, the figure with long silver hair, an incomparably handsome face, and an extraordinary air—who could it be but Jiao Yin?
