Chapter 595: Chapter 592: I’ll Put on a Show for You

Zhu Xiu, however, simply curled his finger and gave the rowdiest wolf cub a light rap on the head. His voice was low and stern. "That’s enough. Do you want to wear your Mother out? Your Mother will cook when she feels like it. If she cooks, you eat. If she doesn’t, you wait patiently."

The little wolf cub whimpered, holding his head.

Seeing this, Bai Wanwan quickly reached out to stop her Beast Husbands from continuing to "educate" the cub. She pulled the one who’d been rapped on the head close, ruffled his fur, and said gently to all the cubs staring at her with wide eyes, "Be good, my little ones. Mommy remembers all your favorite foods. From now on, I’ll make them in rotation for you, okay? I promise you’ll all get to eat what you like."

The cubs’ gloom instantly turned to joy. They cheered in unison, their voices so loud they nearly blew the roof off. "Okay! Mommy is the best!"

"Wanwan, you spoil them too much."

Xin Feng watched her protect the cub, shaking his head with a helpless sigh.

"They’re half-grown already. You can’t spoil them so indiscriminately," Chou Rong said. Though his tone was steady as always, it held a hint of resignation.

Bai Wanwan placed a large piece of the best meat on the little wolf cub’s plate beside her. She then looked up at her Beast Husbands, her eyes crinkling into a smile, but her tone was serious. "No matter how big they get, they will always be my babies in my heart. Think about it, how much longer can we spoil them like this? When they’re a little older, find their own mates, and start their own families, we might not even have the chance to spoil them anymore."

Hearing her words and seeing the unreserved love for the cubs in her eyes, the males felt their deep-seated beliefs begin to waver.

’That’s right. Wasn’t this unreserved indulgence and affection for her family the most precious thing about their female?’

’Wanwan was right. The cubs would leave sooner or later, but they... they would be loved by Wanwan forever.’

’Thinking about it that way, they actually felt a little sorry for the cubs.’

The same thought crossed all their minds: ’It’s just a matter of providing for the cubs a while longer. They were all powerful Red Rank Males. They would just have to hunt more prey in the future.’

’As long as Wanwan was happy, she could do whatever she wanted.’

After dinner, the family lingered around the table, chatting idly while the cubs laughed and played.

Chou Rong, however, had already discreetly taken Bai Wanwan’s hand. He gently caressed her soft palm with his fingertips and asked in a low voice, "Want to go back to our room and rest?"

His intention was all too obvious, and several pairs of eyes were already casting subtle glances their way. Besides, she had just finished eating.

Bai Wanwan’s face grew warm. She shook her head slightly and squeezed his hand back. "No, I’m too full tonight. I want to go for a walk and let my food settle."

"Alright," Chou Rong agreed readily, getting up while still holding her hand tightly. "I’ll go with you."

Under the gazes of the other males, Bai Wanwan braced herself as Chou Rong, looking completely unconcerned, led her by the hand out of the noisy stone house.

’He had been separated from Wanwan for several months, after all. He had special privileges now.’

The evening breeze carried a cool touch, dispelling the sweltering heat of the day.

The area around their home was quiet and secluded. A small stream gurgled past, its banks covered in nameless wildflowers. Bathed in the afterglow of the sunset, the scene was like a tranquil and magnificent oil painting, a sight that soothed the soul.

Just as Bai Wanwan was about to use the quiet atmosphere to talk to Chou Rong about some tribal matters, she glanced over and saw Yin Mei and Yin Yuan walking side-by-side toward them in the distance.

Yin Mei had clearly seen them too. A blush instantly colored her cheeks, her gaze flickered, and her voice sounded a little unnatural. "Wanwan..."

A knowing smile flashed in Bai Wanwan’s eyes. She deliberately let her gaze linger on Yin Yuan for a moment before turning to Yin Mei and asking in a lighthearted tone, "Sister Yin Mei, are you out for a walk too?"

The blush on Yin Mei’s face deepened, making her cheeks look like ripe fruit.

Yin Yuan, standing beside her, looked like a completely different person from his previously sorrowful and repressed self. Though still silent, his brow was much more relaxed, and he even wore a faint smile.

He gave a polite nod to Bai Wanwan and Chou Rong, but his gaze immediately returned to Yin Mei, focused and gentle, full of the tenderness one has for something precious that was lost and found again.

Bai Wanwan took in the subtle, harmonious change in the atmosphere between the two. She understood in her heart that they must have talked things through.

She tactfully waved to Yin Mei and linked arms with Chou Rong. "Well, we won’t disturb you two. We’ll head this way."

With that, she pulled Chou Rong along, her pace much quicker than before, as they headed toward a quieter forest path nearby.

The moment they entered the woods and were hidden by the trees, Bai Wanwan immediately let go of Chou Rong’s hand. Her eyes danced with the flames of gossip as she tiptoed to a thick tree trunk, peeked half her head out, and secretly watched Yin Mei and Yin Yuan.

She watched as Yin Yuan reached for Yin Mei’s hand. At first, Yin Mei tried to shake him off, but she couldn’t, and the male held her hand firmly in his palm.

’So this is what it feels like to ship a couple.’ The corners of her mouth couldn’t help but curl upward.

Suddenly, a low voice, tinged with displeasure, sounded from right behind her. Warm breath tickled the shell of her ear. "Are they really that interesting to watch?"

"Mhm, mhm..."

She had just seen Yin Yuan tentatively reach out to wrap his arm around Yin Mei’s waist, and her eyes widened even more, shining with an excited, gossipy glint.

But in the next second, a strong, powerful arm clamped firmly around her slender waist. With a gentle tug, it spun her around, pressing her back against the rough bark of the tree and forcing her gaze to rest on the handsome, slightly dangerous face before her.

"What do you want to see?" Chou Rong looked down at her, a bewitching little smile on his lips, but his eyes swirled with a dark undercurrent. "How about... I put on a show for you?"

Bewitched by his sudden proximity and handsome face, Bai Wanwan’s heart skipped a beat. She almost forgot about the "live show" she had been watching. She dumbly nodded along with his words, her voice softening unconsciously. "Okay..."

The next second, Chou Rong obligingly lowered his head. But his lips didn’t land on hers directly. Instead, they hovered tantalizingly close, drifting from the corner of her mouth to her cheek, then to her ear. The heat of his breath made her tremble slightly as his voice, as deep as a spell, rumbled, "Like this? Or like this?"

Bai Wanwan had to admit that this man, Chou Rong, had all the makings of a male demon.

She swallowed hard, gazing at his impeccably handsome face just inches away. The deliberately ambiguous atmosphere he had created sent her heart into a frenzy. Following her instincts, she replied, "Your performance isn’t convincing enough..."

A low chuckle rumbled in Chou Rong’s throat. Her answer seemed to please him.

He stopped his teasing, and his scorching lips finally descended.
