Bai Wanwan finally looked down at her hands and realized what she had been doing.

She quickly pulled her hands back. "Sorry, sorry! I didn’t mean to."

Zhu Xiu glanced back at her, but said nothing more as he carried her away.

"It’s pitch-black out here. Come on, say something! This is so boring."

It was too dark, and her eyesight wasn’t as good as a male’s. She couldn’t make out any of her surroundings.

"Bai Wanwan, if you weren’t a Holy Female, you would have died several times by now..."

"I know! But what can I do? I am a Holy Female."

’And besides, Yin Da can’t bring himself to force me right now.’

This was the first time Zhu Xiu had ever met a female like this—one who showed no fear no matter how he tried to intimidate her.

She grinned, staring at the tall male by the stone bed. Even though she couldn’t see him clearly, she could sense his gaze on her.

Zhu Xiu was indeed staring at her, his gaze sweeping over her face.

"How did you do it?"

’Yin Da is brutal and cruel toward other females. How could he restrain himself from touching the Holy Female?’

Bai Wanwan threw off the pelt and sat up, hurrying over to the small nest beside the stone bed.

Her cubs were sprawled in the nest, sleeping soundly, utterly oblivious to the fact that they were surrounded by dangerous beasts.

She reached out and stroked each one. Their fluffy, warm bodies trembled slightly with each breath; they were sleeping so peacefully.

After confirming that all the cubs were safe and sound, she returned to the stone bed.

’This is so frustrating!’

’Zhu Xiu was completely unyielding, and she couldn’t get away.’

"I don’t even know who you are. What could I have lied to you about?"

’This is unbelievable,’ Bai Wanwan thought. Waking up to such a hideous, contorted face had nearly given her a heart attack.

"I’m Shi Sen. We just met last night. Have you already forgotten?" Shi Sen’s bronze-bell eyes bulged even wider.

Bai Wanwan stared at him, stunned. ’He’s ugly on a whole other level.’

’Of the three leaders, Zhu Xiu was as perfect as a god, while Yin Da was plain. At least Yin Da wasn’t so ugly he’d scare someone to tears.’

’The third leader before her, Shi Sen, on the other hand, could definitely scare a random bystander to tears.’

’Never mind his bulging eyes; his nose was also large and flat.’

’His mouth was even worse, devoid of any appeal. It was thick and massive, and when he spoke, you could see a gap between his front teeth wide enough to be drafty.’

"You’re... Shi Sen?"

’Bai Wanwan was incredibly relieved that he hadn’t been the one to carry her off yesterday.’

Shi Sen noticed the shift in her expression, and his face instantly darkened. "You find me ugly?"

Shi Sen’s expression softened a bit. "Zhu Xiu brought you back yesterday. Since you’re not his female, you’re coming with me."

"I only came back to see my cubs. Of course I’m his female. Why don’t you go and ask him yourself?"

Just as she spoke, Yin Da walked in from outside. He had been smiling, but the expression vanished from his face the moment he saw Shi Sen in the room.

"Shi Sen, what are you doing here?"

As blunt as ever, Shi Sen pointed at Bai Wanwan. "City Lord, I like the Holy Female. I want her."

He failed to notice that as soon as the words left his mouth, Yin Da’s expression turned exceedingly grim.
