Chapter 637: Chapter 634: Plan Successful

Fu Jinsen wanted to help but was a step too late. He was completely blocked by the three males, unable to get anywhere near Wanwan.

Bai Wanwan turned to look at the old Clan Witch. She knew he was just worried, and wasn’t angry.

"I’m treating the Clan Leader. You’d best not stand in my way."

But the old Clan Witch didn’t believe her at all, his cloudy yet sharp eyes staring at the porcelain vial in her hand.

"What is that in your hand?"

The Clan Witch was well aware of the Clan Leader’s condition. He had even used up the clan’s most precious potions, yet still couldn’t save the Clan Leader.

He didn’t believe this young female could save the Clan Leader.

He was worried that the Clan Leader’s condition would worsen after drinking what the female was holding.

"It’s a potion I prepared. I’m going to give it to the Clan Leader now."

"Absolutely not! Guards? Seize her!" The Clan Witch fumed, his beard bristling and his eyes wide.

The atmosphere in the stone house instantly grew taut to the extreme!

Bai Wanwan didn’t lose her temper. She looked calmly at the old Clan Witch, sensing clearly that his anxiety stemmed purely from his worry for the Clan Leader’s health.

So, she calmly retorted, "Clan Witch, given the Clan Leader’s condition, can anyone present—yourself included—treat him? Who can make the Clan Leader wake up?"

Her voice wasn’t loud, but it was clear enough for everyone in the room to hear.

A dead silence fell.

All the Beastmen, including the old Clan Witch, fell silent, their faces ashen.

They couldn’t. They had exhausted all their options and were powerless to change his fate.

"Since none of you can treat him, let me try. For the Clan Leader, there’s only potential upside, no downside. You’ve already accepted the worst-case scenario... so why not take a chance?"

Seeing that they were still hesitating, she hammered her point home. "To be honest, the Clan Leader’s condition is dire. If we wait past today, not even I will be able to save him."

Her words were like cold daggers, piercing them all and making them deeply uncomfortable.

They didn’t trust an outsider, but just as she said... what if?

The Clan Witch stared at the vial in her hand. "What is this medicine? Tell me."

"How I treat him and what medicine I use," Bai Wanwan shot him a look, her voice cold, "is my secret. It’s not to be shared."

The Clan Witch’s face contorted, his wrinkles deepening with his inner turmoil. He still wasn’t convinced. This female was too young; he couldn’t trust her.

Fu Jinxing chose this moment to speak up. "Clan Witch, you can stop her if you have a better solution. But since you don’t, by stopping her, you’re also stopping any chance of the Clan Leader waking up."

The weight of those words was immense. The old Clan Witch’s expression shifted several times, and his lips trembled, but no words came out.

"Let her try!"

At that moment, the Clan Leader’s Wife, who had been lost in immense grief, suddenly lifted her head. Her eyes were filled with tears but held a glint of do-or-die resolve. "We’ve already reached this point... Could things possibly get any worse? Let her try!"

With the Clan Leader’s Wife having spoken, not even the Clan Witch could interfere with the Clan Leader’s destiny.

He sighed, shot a look at Bai Wanwan, and then very, very reluctantly, began to back away.

He didn’t go far, however, remaining right by the bedside.

He would watch with his own eyes and see whether this young female was here to harm their Clan Leader or to save him.

Bai Wanwan paid him no more mind. Time was of the essence.

Although the system-provided Potion was incredibly effective, the long delay meant his recovery would be more difficult.

"I’ll do it," Chou Rong said, stepping forward. He supported the Elephant Clan Leader’s neck while prying open his mouth.

Bai Wanwan uncapped the vial and, with a steady hand, precisely poured the colorless, odorless Potion into the Clan Leader’s mouth.

Time seemed to stand still as everyone stared at the Elephant Clan Leader.

After administering the Potion, Bai Wanwan waited a moment. When the Elephant Clan Leader showed no reaction, she urgently queried the system in her mind, ’Are you sure this is the right Potion?’

’Host, rest assured. The detoxification process requires a bit of time.’

But the others didn’t see it that way. The flicker of hope that had just ignited in the Elephant Clan Leader’s Wife was slowly extinguished with each passing moment, replaced by a dead silence.

She concealed the dimness in her eyes. "Chief Chou Rong, Holy Female Bai Wanwan, our Clan Leader has matters that must be attended to. If you would please..."

Before the words had even left her mouth,

"COUGH... COUGH COUGH..."

A weak, yet unmistakably clear cough—like a sudden clap of thunder—erupted from the stone bed!

Then, as everyone stared in disbelief, their eyes nearly popping from their sockets, a faint but undeniable flush of color began to return to the Elephant Clan Leader’s ashen face, the change visible to the naked eye!

His deeply furrowed brow began to smooth, and his chest started to rise and fall with distinct, powerful breaths!

"I... why do I feel so much lighter?" The Elephant Clan Leader’s senses were especially sharp, this being his first moment of relief after a long illness.

The old Clan Witch’s hand froze in midair. All the accusations and reprimands he had prepared died in his throat, replaced by the sound of sharp, indrawn breaths!

The dead silence shattered, and hope, like the first light of dawn, instantly scattered the thick gloom of despair!

"Father Beast!"

"Clan Leader!!"

"He’s awake! He’s really awake!"

The stone house instantly erupted with cries of ecstatic disbelief.

The Clan Leader’s Wife was the first to lunge toward the bed. She tightly grasped the Clan Leader’s trembling hand, tears streaming down her face like broken pearls—but this time, they were tears of joy.

Then, more and more Beastmen swarmed forward.

The old Clan Witch remained rooted to the spot, his expression shifting rapidly from shock to elation, and finally, to profound shame.

He looked at the Clan Leader on the bed, who was clearly regaining his vitality, and then at Bai Wanwan, who stood calmly in the protective circle of Chou Rong and the others. His old face flushed hot with embarrassment.

His earlier obstruction and doubt seemed utterly laughable now.

He took a deep breath, suppressing his excitement and shame, and took a few steps toward Bai Wanwan. His demeanor was now utterly respectful, tinged with a sense of awe for this unknown power.

He hesitated for a moment, but unable to contain his curiosity, he spoke in a low, pleading tone. "Holy Female Bai Wanwan... I was ignorant before. Thank you for saving our Clan Leader! Might I... might I trouble you to let me see that vial?"

The vial itself was just an ordinary little porcelain container, nothing special, so Bai Wanwan didn’t mind.

With a nonchalant expression, she casually handed the empty vial over.

The Clan Witch accepted it with both hands as if it were a priceless treasure. He brought it close to his eyes for a careful examination, then repeatedly held it to his nose, sniffing again and again.

But no matter how he tried to analyze it, the vial only retained an extremely faint, esoteric scent that he couldn’t liken to any plant or mineral he knew. He couldn’t identify a single familiar component.

This was completely beyond his scope of knowledge, filling him with even greater astonishment.

He lifted his head, his eyes shining with a thirst for knowledge. He was just about to ask about the Potion’s origins and ingredients.

Just then, the excited voice of the Clan Leader’s Wife came from the bedside. As she carefully supported the still-weak but now open-eyed Clan Leader, she told him joyfully, "It was Holy Female Bai Wanwan who woke you. She said she can help you make a full recovery, too."
