After absorbing some of the Energy Stone’s power, Zhu Xiu felt as though his entire body had been stretched out, leaving him feeling completely at ease.

He opened his eyes, and the female’s fair, delicate face filled his vision.

Her berry-red lips opened and closed as if she were saying something, but Zhu Xiu couldn’t hear a word. His gaze was locked on them.

Bai Wanwan saw that clarity seemed to have returned to his eyes, but he just stared at her without making a sound.

She reached out to touch his forehead. His temperature was perfectly normal.

Suddenly, Zhu Xiu grabbed her wrist, slowly pulling her hand away from his forehead.

"I’m fine."

His voice was still a bit hoarse, and his scarlet eyes, filled with intense aggression, drew closer to her inch by inch.

Even the usually carefree Bai Wanwan could sense something was off. Her heart began to beat erratically, and she squirmed, trying to pull away.

Zhu Xiu swiftly clasped her waist, forcing her to face him.

Meeting his predatory gaze, Bai Wanwan’s heart fluttered in chaos.

Then she cursed herself for being so pathetic. ’It’s just a look. Am I going to lose a piece of flesh over it?’

She immediately widened her eyes and stared right back at him.

’His gaze is absolutely lethal.’ Bai Wanwan held on for a moment before she couldn’t take it anymore.

It was only at this moment that she clearly realized Zhu Xiu and Xin Feng had completely different personalities.

She merely cursed herself for being so pathetic. ’How could I let a male get the better of me so easily?’

’No, I have to get my own back next time.’

Just as Bai Wanwan was about to speak, Xin Feng walked in from outside, shouldering his kill.

His gaze swept over the two of them on the stone bed. He quietly set down his kill and walked over.

"Wanwan is pregnant. You... need to show some restraint."

Zhu Xiu turned his head at Xin Feng’s words.

By then, Xin Feng had already pulled Bai Wanwan into his embrace, his hand resting on her gently swelling abdomen.

Zhu Xiu’s gaze locked onto her belly. "This litter... is it yours?"

"Are you tired? Do you want to sleep a little longer?" Xin Feng asked, looking down at Bai Wanwan in his arms.

"No more sleeping... I just woke up."

She slipped out of Xin Feng’s arms and started to get off the bed.

"Are you hungry?" Xin Feng asked, getting up from the stone bed as well.

"Starving... I’m going to feed the cubs first."

Bai Wanwan went over to the cubs’ nest, picked up a few of them, and fed them strips of meat, watching as they devoured every last bit.

The entire time, she could feel Zhu Xiu’s gaze following her.

She turned her head to meet his gaze. "Enjoying the view? You’re staring."

"Very," he said, his eyes dropping to her belly. "For the next litter, bear me a nest of snake cubs."

’If he could, he would drive out these cubs and the other Beast Husband. Just the female and him—that would be enough.’

"Alright, alright, I’ll bear them for you."

’Based on my shallow understanding of men, a male as aggressive as Zhu Xiu is bound to be extremely possessive.’

’I didn’t say anything more, but I couldn’t help worrying that Zhu Xiu might go after Xin Feng in the future.’

’Even though I had promised Zhu Xiu he could be my first Beast Husband, we haven’t developed a deep bond yet.’

Zhu Xiu didn’t yield an inch. "You’re due in less than twenty days. Three days is already too many."

After Zhu Xiu left to scout the path, Xin Feng said gently, "Wanwan, I know you don’t want to go to another tribe, but childbirth is too dangerous. Neither Zhu Xiu nor I would dare risk you. If you really don’t want to stay in the tribe, we can leave once you’ve given birth and the warm season arrives."

’I was simply being lazy. It was a frozen wasteland outside, and I didn’t want to leave my cozy nest.’

Bai Wanwan lazily savored his attention, her expression one of pure, contented bliss.

"I’m so lucky," she murmured. "To think I could just happen to find a wonderful Beast Husband like you."

Xin Feng’s ears turned a little red at the compliment, and his heart swelled with warmth.

’I’m the lucky one,’ he thought, ’to have found such a wonderful female like Wanwan.’

He couldn’t resist holding her a little tighter, and he leaned in to kiss her red lips, but a sudden, loud noise from the cave entrance stopped him.
