Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era
Chapter 922 - 407: Living Corpse_2
Although Chu Xiu had originally planned to use this thing as a trump card against Ashtar, with less than two months left before the day of the final battle, getting out of here took priority.
But unfortunately, when the two got close, the nebula not only failed to absorb the Tribulation Poison, it instead fluctuated under the destructive Ability of the Tribulation Poison, scaring Chu Xiu into hurriedly putting the nebula away.
"Looks like this method won’t work." Chu Xiu felt a bit regretful.
But that was normal, because what’s left after a Tribulation Transformation Creature is killed is just pure, ownerless Tribulation, whereas Tribulation Poison is Tribulation that’s been specially refined.
The difference between the two was equivalent to the difference between Spiritual Power and Mana.
If the nebula could even absorb that, wouldn’t Chu Xiu be invincible—he could just spit the nebula out in a fight, and any attack related to Energy from the other side would be absorbed by the nebula.
"For now, it seems the nebula can only absorb the purest Energy."
"Looks like there’s no shortcut to take."
Chu Xiu shook his head in amused resignation, stopped overthinking it, and didn’t waste time—he immediately shuttled through the Star Jumping Ship, searching for his next target.
...
One month later.
"Puh! Puh! Puh!"
Over a thousand Spiritual Power Spears fell like raindrops, cleanly and neatly Piercing through all the Tribulation Transformation Creatures below.
Then their bodies began to petrify and shatter at a speed visible to the naked eye, all their Energy being sucked into Chu Xiu’s body.
Chu Xiu showed a satisfied expression, then after a long moment opened his eyes, joy and worry both in his gaze.
Over this month, he’d started from the outermost ring of the Star Jumping Ship and slowly swept it circle by circle; now he’d finally searched through the areas outside the central zone in rough outline.
Of course, he hadn’t done a deep, meticulous search, only a rough sweep with his Divine Sense—after all, the Star Jumping Ship was too huge. Even if Chu Xiu could now cruise and search at a constant Speed of twenty times the speed of sound, he still couldn’t finish!
Not only did it have an enormous radius of more than two thousand kilometers, its height was over ten kilometers, and the solid steel internal main structure could also hinder the Piercing of Divine Sense.
In these conditions, even if Chu Xiu neither slept nor rested, he still couldn’t possibly comb through every corner of the Star Jumping Ship.
Yet even so, he’d discovered a full thirty-seven strongholds of Tribulation Transformation Creatures, each stronghold holding around a thousand of them!
Such a colossal amount of Life Energy and Tribulation had made Chu Xiu’s nebula swell to five or six times its original size at least, and its rotational Speed had doubled as well!
"The Energy I’ve converted by now should be enough for at least ten Flawless Golden Cores..."
Such huge progress naturally delighted Chu Xiu, but what worried him was that, even after absorbing so much Energy, this nebula seemed like it would never be satisfied—there were still no signs of Pill Formation!
"Hundred Generations Core Formation... really isn’t an exaggerated phrase at all. If anything, it seriously underestimates it."
Chu Xiu shook his head helplessly.
As for the traits of the Nebula Pill Formation Method, if this were an ordinary time, Chu Xiu would probably be grinning so wide his mouth split—after all, everyone knows the more Energy a core can hold, the more terrifying its final Power will be.
But now there was less than a month left before the day of the final battle, and he was still trapped on this Desolate Star!
"Run the search again? After my first sweep, the density of Tribulation Transformation Creatures is now much lower. In the remaining month, I’d be lucky to find twenty strongholds; it’s possible I may not even find ten!"
"Then force it through with Cause and Effect Points?"
"..."
Chu Xiu still couldn’t bring himself to spend them.
"Looks like there’s only one choice left."
Chu Xiu looked toward the central region.
There, the huge hollow created by the explosion of Power from the God’s corpse lay quietly, constantly reminding Chu Xiu how terrifying Divine Power was.
"Back then it took me in my full prime plus Tuoba Shou, who’d burned up that Tribulation Transformation Divine Artifact, just to barely block it..."
Chu Xiu felt a bit intimidated.
After thinking it over, he slapped his Spirit and Flesh Storage Pouch, and his flesh-and-blood avatar appeared on the spot.
Rasputin still wore that same fawning expression; as soon as he appeared he stretched his voice out ingratiatingly and called:
"Venerable Lord——"
Halfway through speaking, his voice suddenly stuck. He glanced around, then looked at Chu Xiu.
"Uh, Venerable Lord, where are we now..."
Rasputin had been tossed into the Spirit and Flesh Storage Pouch by Chu Xiu and couldn’t sense the situation in the Outer World. Thankfully, he’d previously been locked up in the Blood Pool the whole time, so he didn’t find it boring—he simply kept on absorbing the Life Energy inside the Storage pouch for Cultivation.
Chu Xiu had fought battle after battle earlier, and now only a single Garuda remained among his Corpse Refinement stock, so he didn’t mind Rasputin siphoning off that little bit.
Originally, by his reckoning, two months had gone by, so whether the Trial was passed or failed, they should’ve already been out.
But how come, the moment he opened his eyes, he was still inside the Star Jumping Ship?
And Chu Xiu’s aura seemed somewhat different than before...
That made Rasputin’s eyes roll round and round.
However, Chu Xiu had no intention of explaining anything to him. He just pointed toward the massive hollow in the distance. "You go down and scout first."
Rasputin screamed in his heart, "What a misery!"
Every job Chu Xiu dragged him into was the hardest and most dangerous; right now it was obviously some deadly pit in that hollow, using him as the pathfinder.
Compared to the range Divine Sense could probe, the direct Soul link between Chu Xiu and Rasputin extended much farther.
But he also knew full well he had no right to refuse, so the fawning smile on his face didn’t change. "Venerable Lord, this little one will go at once."
As soon as the words fell, he was quite decisive, directly turning into a streak of blood light and plunging into the hollow.
A few seconds later, an exclamation rang out from Rasputin’s mouth. "Venerable Lord! There are so many ’Living Corpses’ down here that have been sucked dry."
"V-Venerable Lord, just what kind of place have you come to! How come there are even so many Demigod Living Corpses! I-Is this the old home of some God?"
