Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era
Chapter 936 - 413: Gathering of the Power of Civilization
The inquiry from the tall, thin man plunged the scene into a prolonged silence.
Finally, the burly man spoke: "This young lady, I understand your reluctance, but this matter is beyond our abilities. There are countless tragedies in the world, and we can only take care of what’s within our duties."
Xi Ya said calmly, "Slaying one’s own kind hardly counts as a duty."
The burly man replied, "The trial is arranged this way. Without us, others would hunt them. It is their fate, and from the moment they rebelled, they should have been prepared for this. This is the consequence of failing to challenge an upper-level being."
Xi Ya said, "Since I’ve encountered it, I cannot stand by and do nothing."
The burly man frowned and retorted, "Not to mention the difficulty of confronting a Heroic Spirit Divine Envoy, even if you succeed, then what? Do you plan to contend with an Outer Realm Demon for territory?"
Xi Ya responded, "Our Human Race does not have a powerful bloodline. To thrive in the cosmos, we rely on our predecessors who went forth, sacrificing their lives, to carve a bloody path from the encirclement of other races, allowing us to rise as a strong race now. Our Blood Crystal Civilization was once ruled by aliens, and without the sacrifices of our ancestors, how would we have today’s prosperity?"
"While we have strength, we must strive with all our might."
Upon these words, the group fell silent again. The burly man looked at Xi Ya intently, then suddenly sneered: "Judging by the Equipment on you, you must come from a prominent family, right? Surely, you have prepared an Artifact for escape? You certainly have the confidence to say such words."
Xi Ya was momentarily stunned and fell silent.
It’s not that she felt guilty, but she realized she couldn’t persuade the other party.
The tall, thin man also secretly transmitted a message: "Xi Ya, the Teaming Talisman is hard to come by, if you miss this chance, I might not be able to accompany you in the trial next time."
"..."
After a long while, Xi Ya turned her head silently: "In any case, I cannot bring myself to slay my own kind. My decision is made, how you proceed is unrelated to me."
The tall, thin man sighed: "I will surely assist you."
The burly man replied: "Then let us mind our own affairs, without interfering with each other."
Xi Ya said: "Should you hunt your own kind, I cannot stand idly by."
The burly man furiously said: "Do you think the Heroic Spirit Trial is child’s play? Even with our efforts combined, there are numerous variables. If we’re obstructed by you, how can we have a chance of passing? Isn’t your stance forcing the two of us?"
Xi Ya no longer responded, simply turning away, leaving the burly man with only her back, which made him feel both angry and helpless.
Observing from the void, Chu Xiu also frowned deeply.
Though he was unaware of the specific task at hand, he could guess based on the group’s conversation.
The young lady is determined to clash with the Divine Envoy, meaning that, win or lose, this trial will conclude during the first hour of the hunting ceremony.
By then, he wouldn’t even have covered half of the journey! This was something Chu Xiu couldn’t accept.
Yet, despite his urgency, what else could he do at this moment?
Presently, he was merely utilizing the power of Emperor Xi’s Exploration Lamp to investigate this place with his consciousness.
These thoughts contained almost no Energy. It’s hard enough to alter reality, let alone communicate messages!
"No, there must be a way. Outer Realm Demons can not only descend with their consciousness but can also manifest Divine Power and even break through space! It must be my lack of understanding regarding the Rule of Space."
Thousands of thoughts continuously emerged nearby as Chu Xiu tried to find connections between high-dimensional space and reality, striving to discover a method for remote influence.
But unfortunately, although his conjecture was correct, how vast and complex are the rules of space? How could such a thing be understood within a short time by mere speculation?
Moreover, even if he were exceptionally talented to an unparalleled degree, he still couldn’t achieve it.
No matter how powerful the rule, it ultimately remains theoretical knowledge.
It’s akin to being a scientist who, regardless of comprehending all worldly mysteries, is indistinguishable from an Ordinary person without materials and tools.
This is why understanding the Heavenly Dao requires at least the Divinity Transformation Stage, as the Primordial Spirit is equivalent to a scientific exploration instrument. Only with the instrument can the rules that elude Ordinary perception be explored.
And even with awareness of the rules, one must possess suitable scientific tools, that is, Authority, to draw Power from the Rule Origin and thus exhibit various extraordinary Divine Techniques.
Thus, Chu Xiu’s aimless pondering was inevitably fruitless.
Soon, amidst the unresolved debate among the four, an hour swiftly passed, and the passage to the Fifth Layer opened.
"Approximately two more hours remain before the hunt officially begins. There’s no way I can make it in such short time."
Just as Chu Xiu was feeling increasingly anxious, suddenly an unexpected voice echoed within his consciousness!
"Who?!"
The voice left Chu Xiu bewildered, but once he identified its source, a surprised look appeared on his face.
It turned out that during his attempt at understanding the Rule of Space, over a hundred thoughts had descended to observe the surroundings, and one of them inadvertently entered the core of the Altar.
And that voice originated from the Altar’s core!
Chu Xiu immediately focused his attention on that thought, diving deeper in, and suddenly he felt a surge of Energy enveloping his consciousness. This Energy was incredibly pure and easy to manipulate, almost as if prepared specifically for a consciousness like his.
The entire core of the Altar brimmed with such Energy, and in the center of this space, a blurred phantom floated quietly, with most of the surrounding energy concentrated near it, resembling a storm ready to unleash.
