"Cang Kai, the hour has come, why haven’t you moved?"

Upon the altar, three King Tier Grandmasters clad in golden armor surrounded the disheveled and tangled-bearded Cang Kai in the middle, questioning him coldly like the guards of the gods.

The chains on the ground had long loosened, yet Cang Kai remained motionless.

Not far away, the Lizard God Envoy and the king also cast indifferent and tense glances.

"He is the protagonist of this ritual; anyone can be sacrificed, but not him," said the Divine Envoy indifferently.

"Yes, yes." The king wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, walked up to Cang Kai, and said coldly, "Cang Kai! You know the consequence of refusing to participate in the ceremony, I needn’t say more! If not for yourself, then at least think of your children!"

Looking at the stern and colorfully voiced king before him, Cang Kai slowly raised his head, his gaze sweeping across more than a dozen drones in the sky as if surveying his territory like the Wolf King, and proclaimed solemnly, "As a leader of the Rebel Army, today anyone can live, except Cang himself must die!"

"Hmph," the king scoffed, "Do you want the citizens of the kingdom to watch you die cowardly or fight heroically?"

"Cang is fighting right now." Cang Kai remained unmoved, speaking calmly.

"Very well," a fierce glint flashed in the king’s eyes, and he clapped his hands behind him.

Instantly, the ground of the altar split open in all directions, revealing a spiral staircase where several figures were dragged up by guards.

They were all in prison garb, with silent eyes, and clear signs of torture on their bodies.

At the same time, three golden copper bull sculptures, each as large as an adult, were brought up.

"I needn’t introduce what this is, do I?"

The king’s gaze was cold: "I really can’t imagine how cowardly a man must be to watch his wife and children scream in agony inside a copper bull."

Upon these words, terror was evident in the eyes of those who were brought up.

Yet, Cang Kai laughed heartily, his laughter piercing the sky, carefree and vigorous, but somehow it sent a chill into the hearts of everyone present.

"Cang Kai! What are you laughing at!" The king shouted sternly, but his body unconsciously leaned back, anyone could see his exterior was fierce but inwardly fearful.

"I’m laughing because for so many years, you all still only know these tricks!" Cang Kai’s gaze was icy as he looked at his family, "I, Cang, apologize to you all, feel free to hate me."

With that said, he closed his eyes and didn’t look again!

"You!"

The king was furious, simultaneously overwhelmed by immense fear; Cang Kai was truly going to watch his family burn alive in front of him! If not even this could threaten him, what could possibly work?

And if the hunting ceremony were ruined because of this...

The copper bull might as well be on himself.

"Cang, Cang Kai, think it over, your wife is Warrior Tier, even if her internal power is sealed, she would burn for a whole five hours in a copper bull before dying, can you bear to watch her suffer like this?"

Cang Kai still had his eyes shut, not moving.

The king was anxious, his voice trembling even more: "Cang Kai! Why do this! Complete the trial and you’ll rid yourself of the sinner’s identity and leap to nobility, if you gain the favor of the gods, my position as king might even be yours, wouldn’t everything be yours then?"

"A true hero knows how to adapt; enduring bitterness requires true heroism!"

Cang Kai’s breathing was steady, as if asleep.

"Cang Kai!"

The king finally could no longer suppress the tremor of his body, stepping forward to grasp Cang Kai and shake him violently, as if he were the one forced to a desperate corner.

"Enough!"

At this moment, the cold voice of the Divine Envoy resounded.

The king was like splashed with a basin of cold water, abruptly awakening, stepping back half a step, cold sweat covering his face, he opened his mouth eager to explain something, but the Divine Envoy raised a hand to stop him.

It slowly rose from the throne, pacing to stand before Cang Kai, its immense shadow instantly overshadowing him.

Cang Kai’s physique, mighty in the eyes of ordinary people, seemed small and childlike compared to the Divine Envoy.

"Thunk."

Under the shocked gazes of all, the Divine Envoy suddenly loosened its grip, the gold-splashed long spear dropped heavily to the ground.

Cang Kai’s eyelids slightly moved, yet he still did not open his eyes.

"Not enough?" The Divine Envoy sneered, "The thoughts of you mortals are truly humorous as ants before me, were it not for meeting the god’s expectation, I would have crushed you, this showy person, long ago."

"I’m too lazy to bargain with you, so I’ll publicly give you this opportunity, to add some fun to the ceremony."

With that, the armor plates on its body fell off bit by bit, reassembling on the ground as a human-shaped black battle armor, simultaneously, the ornaments on the Divine Envoy’s head all fell down.

Cang Kai suddenly opened his eyes, swiftly gathered the armor and weapons from the ground, and shot like lightning towards the forest, disappearing in a blink.

The king stared at this scene, stuttering somewhat as he said, "Did, did this rascal actually plan this all along?"

"A brave warrior would not permit himself to die a plain death," said the Divine Envoy indifferently, "He’s seeking an opportunity from me, and I have given him that opportunity."

"Yet...to think relying on a few pieces of equipment would challenge divine power, truly laughable."

The Lizard God Envoy swayed its tail, slowly returning to the throne, its yellow-green vertical pupils casually sweeping over Xi Ya and the other three, causing them all to jump in their brows!

"This dung-colored monster...seems off," Omond whispered in sound transmission.
