Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 1784: Final Chapter: Looking Forward to Tomorrow

Where exactly has Yang Yu, who should be called a hero, gone? Speculations abound.

People only know that after that century-defining conversation, Yang Yu became elusive, only appearing at particularly important banquets.

Some say that after that conversation, Yang Yu was thoroughly targeted, subjected to countless assassination attempts by various forces. For his safety, he found a place to live in seclusion;

Some say Yang Yu has become the driving force behind world progress, intending to restore the world’s original prosperity, evidenced by his investments in numerous large-scale projects;

Some say there never was such a person as Yang Yu in the world; how could someone achieve such a feat? Yang Yu is merely a hero figure created by various nations…

In fact, Yang Yu has indeed gone into seclusion.

But.

He did not isolate himself from the entire world.

Accompanied by the crow of a rooster, the sun rises from beyond the mountain, and the sunlight pours into the beautiful vineyard, into a small wooden cabin.

Bai Jin awakens on Yang Yu’s chest.

She doesn’t know when she started, but Bai Jin has become accustomed to such scenery.

She learned to enjoy her moments of happiness.

Gently kissing Yang Yu’s cheek, Bai Jin carefully, without making any noise, puts on her clothes, approaches the Wind Chime, checks that the baby in the cradle is still asleep, and tiptoes toward the kitchen not far away to prepare breakfast for her beloved family.

Perhaps drawn by the aroma, a seven or eight-year-old boy yawns and, still drowsy, walks downstairs, washes his face, and sits at the dining table.

Arranging the dishes on the table, Bai Jin wipes her hands with an apron and instructs the boy sitting there:

“Wake your father up; it’s time for breakfast.”

The boy was about to shout but then remembered something, cautiously entering the room to shake Yang Yu awake.

Woken by his son, Yang Yu yawns, quickly regains his energy, picks up the baby girl from the cradle, and heads toward the kitchen.

After tidying up the kitchen, Bai Jin takes the baby girl from Yang Yu and begins the usual breakfast.

Compared to when she was a new mother, Bai Jin has much more experience, adeptly caring for the baby girl. But she does not neglect caring for her older son either.

Perhaps influenced by Yang Yu, Bai Jin places particular emphasis on her older son’s academic lessons.

Having eaten their fill, Yang Yu gazes at the boy across from him, who bears some resemblance to him, and advises:

“Today we need to harvest grapes. Stay at home and do your homework well. Don’t run around.”

The boy pouts in disgruntlement: “It’s always the same thing. I finished my homework last night. Today I want to help you.”

“You’re growing up. But you have to work hard.”

Yang Yu, of course, knows his son’s little thoughts.

Last time when they were harvesting grapes, Yang Yu inadvertently displayed some of his abilities, finishing the grape picking in just over ten minutes, which made his son’s eyes light up. He expressed several times that he wanted to learn.

Yang Yu did not refuse and made a pact with his older son: “As long as you perform excellently before the age of twelve, I’ll teach you everything I know.”

Under such encouragement, the boy has been striving to maintain his excellent grades, not daring to slacken off even a bit.

After packing up, Yang Yu carries a bamboo basket out the door, Bai Jin has the daughter strapped on her back, and picks up an ordinary Magic Wand, with their older son following closely behind.

Placing the wooden baskets in front of each trench, Yang Yu takes a quick walk through the vineyard, picking out grapes with poor quality, while Bai Jin takes this time to raise her Magic Wand and cast Magic to envelop the entire vineyard.

A certain blue figure hiding under the grape trellis munches large bites of nearby Clover.

When the sunlight touches her, she rolls over like a student unwilling to get out of bed, into a shadow.

“It’s about to begin.”

Yang Yu calls out to Bai Jin, then jumps up, landing lightly on the grape trellises,

“Last time I was still too slow.

This year’s yield is just right for breaking some records.

Mu Gui, watch closely. This is your dad’s true strength.”

With that, Yang Yu’s figure completely disappears like a hurricane sweeping through the vineyard.

In just the blink of an eye, Yang Yu is back in front of Bai Jin.

Bai Jin lifts her Magic Wand high, strings of ripe grapes rise from the vineyard and gently settle into the bamboo basket.

The boy Mu Gui’s eyes widen in disbelief.

This time, it’s twice as fast as the last time!

He can’t even begin to fathom how his father did it.

A fire ignites in the boy’s heart; since his father can do it, he, as the son, can certainly do it too, through rigorous instruction.

Yang Yu casually sheaths his Sword Blade, retrieves a pair of pruning shears from the System, and hands them to his older son, pointing to several untouched grapevines nearby:

“Weren’t you here to help?

I saved you a few trees.

I’ve taught you how to pick.

Now I have to teach you what hardship means.

As the saying goes, a minute on stage takes ten years of work off stage.

If you can’t persist through this hardship, let’s not even talk about learning anything under me.

“

The boy hesitates but ultimately takes the pruning shears from Yang Yu’s hand, starting to do the farm work with determination.

In the boy’s eyes, this is altogether a test from his father to him.

Only by passing the test does he qualify to learn extraordinary skills from his father.

Just as Yang Yu is educating his child, a figure incongruous with the farmland strides gracefully toward them.
