DesertCraft: Fishing Pocket Heaven
Chapter 78: Her Purple Talent!
A little toilet tour doused the morning fire, but the heat didn’t die out because the morning sun got a little hotter.
Swish~ Ploom!
After lazily casting out the line again, Sage Yu Zhiye glanced at the babe massaging his shoulders.
“Hey, noona, you’re really good at this. After you’re done, why don’t you come massage my little brother as well?”
Chae Yoona put on a pale, pitiful face. “Oppa… Yoona has to return to the store soon.”
“Oh? Why?”
“Yoona has a heart condition and can’t bear staying out under the direct sun for too long.”
“Oh really?” Yu Zhiye didn’t take this actress’s claim to heart and even jokingly shot back.
“Is that why you always hole up in there past morning? And here I thought you didn’t want your beautiful skin to get a tan. Haha.”
“Oppa… Yoona is being serious…”
“Hey, is it that uncomfortable to stay with me? What if I ordered you to stay?”
“Owner…” Chae Yoona stared out at the rising sun and fearfully turned back to beg, “Please… please spare Yoona. Yoona really can’t… really can’t...”
Observing her fear that was almost too real, Yu Zhiye really didn’t know if she was acting or not, but he thought pushing her to this extent was enough.
Anyways, he already asked what he wanted to ask.
“Alright, alright, I won’t mess with you anymore.”
After giving the pale babe a slap on the ass, he got up to buckle his pants and put away the fishing rod.
Chae Yoona submissively bowed her head. “Thank you owner for your mercy.”
When Chae Yoona looked up again, she saw the man place his palm on the sandstone wall behind and something magically materialized on that surface!
“A... door?”
Yu Zhiye glanced back at the stunned woman. As expected. She can now see the door!
That simplified things.
“Come. I’ll show you a good place.”
Seeing her new master beckoning her over, Chae Yoona obediently got up and sashayed to his side.
Yu Zhiye faintly smiled, held the beauty’s waist, and went into the opened portal.
A step and the world changed!
As soon as they appeared in the pocket dimension, Chae Yoona felt a tug on her consciousness and for a breath, her gaze dulled like she lost her soul!
A blink later, her eyes quickly regained clarity.
But this fleeting change didn’t escape Yu Zhiye’s notice and aroused his curiosity. “Hmm? What happened?”
“I…” Chae Yoona felt strange and her intuition pointed her to the ancestral hall in the distant. “Oppa… I felt like a connection was born in me with something in that direction.”
The Soul Hall? Yu Zhiye didn’t know what’s going on but he didn’t hesitate to lead the involved person over to check things out.
Once inside the ancestral hall, Yu Zhiye immediately noticed a change on the shrine.
The candle in the sole lamp holder was lit!
As soon as he strolled closer, he saw a miniature illusory Chae Yoona sleeping peacefully inside the lamp fire like a fetus!
Was this… the true spirit captured by the soul lamp? Just like in those life lamps in those cliché xianxia novel’s immortal sect?
Yu Zhiye guessed this will allow him to know if anything happens to his new servant, but… does it have any other function?
Recalling there was a soul link effect on this lamp, Yu Zhiye tried picking up the lamp for a closer look.
Only… the lamp was glued in place, but right on touch, he felt a vision getting projected into his consciousness!
It was like looking through a fish-eye lens perspective and through this, he actually saw his own back standing next to the shrine!
Who this perspective belongs to was obvious.
Confirmed: the soul link actually lets him see whatever his contracted servant sees!
But aside from a little novelty, this soul linking field of vision wasn’t anything too special.
It was simply another version of the observatory’s ward—a moving one that blinks and can’t be controlled—wait, is it possible to control this?
“Noona, look left.”
At that command, the view panned left then panned back to him.
“Look right.”
A little pause later, the view panned right and checked around. He could almost feel her confusion.
“Look down.”
The view panned down…
Woah! What a wonderful—ahem—horrible view! Can’t even see her own toes! Bad review!
“Oppa, why are you giving me such strange commands? Quit messing around.”
“I’m not messing around, just trying something…”
Yu Zhiye suddenly noticed something in this vision.
It was an inventory hotbar—something he was quite used to by now, but… this particular hotbar appeared quite out of place!
Because unlike his own, this one was rather empty, save for some food and water!
This can’t be his own inventory! That means… was this her inventory?!
A possibility flashed through Yu Zhiye’s mind and he can’t wait to verify it.
“Noona, open your status.”
His order couldn’t be resisted and the beauty’s hand waved to bring up her system interface.
A blink later, her entire game interface appeared in his vision!
Status, achievements, everything she saw was there!
But what caught his attention the most was her status!
[Name] Chae Yoona#34
[Age] 29
[Class] Human
[Affiliation] Outpost #128A7193S
[Stats] STR (3.1), DEX (7.7), INT (8.9), CON (5.2), WIS (7.8), CHA (9.5) SAN(0.9)
[Gift] Red Specter Heart (Purple)(F+)
[Title] None
At a glance, her panel was much better than his, but what really shocked him was...
“You actually have a purple talent?! Didn’t you say earlier it was a blue-grade passive charm?”
When she heard that, Chae Yoona was completely stunned! But she quickly recovered.
Though she saw nothing unusual except that candle she felt a strong connection with, she guessed the devil possessed some way to view her status.
Knowing that her lies were seen through, she simply admitted it. “Yoona’s talent is indeed purple.”
Yu Zhiye seriously looked through her status, thought about how to rephrase his command, then shot her a solemn look. “Honestly tell me everything you know about this Red Specter Heart ability of yours.”
Chae Yoona still thought about hiding some details, but a mysterious force compelled her to explain everything she knew!
“My Red Specter Heart lets me turn into an unbound evil spirit after death. The stronger my resentment and obsession in life, the stronger I am after death.”
“But while alive, it’s doesn’t do much except slowly drain 0.1 of my constitution everyday while making me fear sunlight. No more.”
That apparently was all she knew, but the novel-reader Yu Zhiye inferred even more.
Resentment and obsession? Red Specter?! Draining constitution until life runs out?!
Damn! How terrifying! This is a ticking time bomb!
Yu Zhiye suddenly thought of something even more frightening.
“Uh… noona? Tell the truth. Do you resent me?”
Chae Yoona wanted to say she doesn’t, but she still uncontrollably blurted out the truth. “I resent all men who toy with my body.”
Welllll shit. Yu Zhiye finally understood why she let him treat her like a plaything.
Leveraging herself for a big business was one thing, but beneath that first layer, she was actually still using him as a whetstone for her rebirth!
Damn! A scheme that hits two birds with one arrow! How sinister!
If he let her go free, once this ticking time bomb blew up, he wouldn’t even know how he died!
“Hey, hey, lucky me that your soul is now bound by a contract and will never harm me.”
Yu Zhiye let go of the lamp and turned around to grab the beauty’s cheeks, forcing her to stare into his eyes.
“Noona, you’ll be my bitch alive, and even after death, you can’t escape being my ghost!”
Just imagining having a powerful red specter as his bodyguard already excited Yu Zhiye to no end!
After all, if it’s really the red specter he knows from those horror novels, then it was an almost unsolvable existence even for most with superpowers!
