Chapter 1082: Chapter 505: Past Dust, Old Dreams (Second Update)_2

Isaac suddenly came to his senses, his face turned pale as he stood up and said, "Emily Thomas! Stop messing around! If you keep this up, I’m going to apply for a restraining order in court!"

"Isaac! You heartless man! You wasted my youth! Deceived me for a lifetime! Even as a ghost, I won’t let you go!" Miss Emily screamed, picking up the bowls and chopsticks from the table, hurling them one by one at Isaac.

Isaac jumped and dodged, the gracefully composed middle-aged handsome man from moments ago had turned into a leaping monkey, losing all his aura and demeanor.

The middle-aged woman next to him hurriedly wiped off the bits of tofu and strips of wood ear from Isaac’s body, while also helping to shield him from Miss Emily’s frenzied assault.

The restaurant’s hall was in chaos, diners near their table stood up to avoid the commotion, and those who were nearly finished took the opportunity to dine and dash, slipping out towards the exit.

However, Fortunate Gate Restaurant, with its over a century’s history, was well-prepared to handle such disturbances.

They promptly closed the doors and called the police.

Soon, the piercing sound of police sirens blared outside the restaurant as the officers arrived.

Meanwhile, Miss Emily continued to chase and attack Mr. Isaac.

"Police! Don’t move!" Armed officers stormed into Fortunate Gate Restaurant’s hall, pointing their guns at the still running Miss Emily and Mr. Isaac.

Mr. Isaac immediately froze in fear and raised his hands.

Miss Emily, ignoring everything, lunged forward, continuing to beat Mr. Isaac.

Her slaps sounded loudly as she struck his face, even kicking and hitting with fists and feet, crying and shouting, "You can’t do this to me! You can’t! I’ve loved you for decades! Followed you since I was fourteen! You heartless scoundrel!"

The riot police, clad in bulletproof gear, watched this scene and couldn’t help but smile wryly.

They had expected dangerous thugs, only to find a lover’s spat.

They holstered their guns and a few of them surrounded Miss Emily, pulling her away from Mr. Isaac and cuffing her hands behind her back, saying, "Ma’am, you’re being arrested for public disturbance, assault, and causing bodily harm to this gentleman. We need to take you to the station."

"You have the right to remain silent, and anything you say may be used as evidence in court."

Miss Emily’s hands were handcuffed behind her back.

She gasped for breath, the hysteria fading, as she looked around like a child awakening from a dream, gazing at herself with a trembling voice asking, "Where is this? Where am I? Who am I?"

"Well, this young lady must be a philosopher, huh? ’Where is this, where am I, who am I?’ are significant philosophical questions, but sadly, we don’t have the answers either," one of the officers said earnestly, "Take her away."

Miss Emily seemed to snap back to reality, her arms uncomfortably bound behind her.

Perhaps the discomfort cleared her head, and she immediately said, "I need to call my lawyer! You can’t just take me away like this!"

The officer shrugged, "Suit yourself. What’s your lawyer’s number? I’ll call them for you now."

Seeing Miss Emily as a delicate young woman, he felt a bit compassionate.

He took out his phone and called her lawyer for her.

Soon, her lawyer replied, saying, "I’m on my way, just give me the address of your station."

The officer provided the address, then asked Mr. Isaac, "Sir, are you injured? Need an ambulance?"

Mr. Isaac shook his head, "I’m fine."

He hesitated slightly and said, "I know this lady, she might have some issues here..."

He pointed to his head, "Please don’t be too harsh with her."

Despite Miss Emily’s attack on him, he still spoke up for her.

Even the officers thought him quite kind.

The middle-aged woman next to him proudly took his arm and said meaningfully, "Our Mr. Isaac is always gentle and kind. I don’t know where this woman came from, claiming she’s waited for Mr. Isaac for decades. Look at her, she’s barely in her twenties, did she start dating Mr. Isaac in the womb? Ha, chasing after a man isn’t done this way, young lady..."

Mr. Isaac gave a wry smile, "Enough, she has cognitive issues, I think she should see a psychologist."

The officers asked Mr. Isaac once more, and, ensuring he wouldn’t press charges against Miss Emily, they did not insist on taking him to the station as well.

Since Mr. Isaac chose not to press charges against Miss Emily, he was no longer involved.

But there was still the matter of compensation for the restaurant from Miss Emily.

The damage to the utensils today and the disruption to their business certainly exceeded nine hundred and fifty US Dollars, the police had to address it.
