Chapter 1094: Chapter 510: Outmatched (Second Update)

Lawrence Winters gave a snort, leaning back noncommittally on his chair.

Mr. Zhuge, feeling indignant, added, "Even if the committee thinks so, the one who suffers the most is Lawrence. You did nothing, and you ended up at the bottom in the second round. — You’re out."

Lawrence Winters looked at Mr. Zhuge with amusement, saying, "Earlier, you said lucky I’m not a judge, and now I return the favor to you verbatim: lucky you’re not a judge, Mr. Zhuge."

"Am I wrong?" Mr. Zhuge laughed, glancing at Wang the Daoist and Quan the Daoist before looking at the host, saying, "Why not ask the judges over there, see what the contest results are?"

Lawrence Winters waved his hand, "Don’t rush it, this matter isn’t over yet, why is Mr. Zhuge so anxious to call it off?"

"Not over? Miss Tang is locked up in the mental institution, Mr. Yu is dead, Mrs. Fang might have already broken down, and you say it’s not over?" Mr. Zhuge looked at Lawrence Winters in disbelief, unable to trust his own ears.

Lawrence Winters nodded with a smile, "Since Mr. Zhuge doesn’t believe, let’s ask the judges, hear their opinion."

The host was also puzzled.

Seeing all four contestants wanted to consult the judges, he had no choice but to call Evan Stetford again.

Evan Stetford, after consulting with the judges and holding a vote, concluded with an eight to three result that the contest was indeed not over.

The host switched on the speakerphone, hearing Evan Stetford’s voice echo from it.

He said, "Contestants, after discussion, the committee voted eight to three, agreeing the contest hasn’t ended."

"The committee wants to know, first, why does Miss Tang insist on holding Mr. Yu accountable? In her and Mrs. Fang, and Mr. Yu’s descriptions, Miss Tang’s mother clearly died in an accident. Miss Tang knows this, yet she insists Mr. Yu directly caused her mother’s death. Why is that? Is Miss Tang hiding any key clues?"

"Second, why does Mrs. Fang keep accusing Miss Tang of seducing her husband when they supposedly have no special relationship? Mr. Yu appears to be a habitual adulterer, and Mrs. Fang, as his wife, couldn’t possibly be unaware of this. She tolerated many of Mr. Yu’s mistresses, why is she intolerant now with Miss Tang?"

"Third, Miss Tang is interesting. We looked into her background according to the application details and found she didn’t provide any pre-college history. She’s young, yet financially robust, but her mother is clearly not wealthy. Her mother’s best friend is also part of the common working class. Where did her money come from?"

"If you can clarify these three things, the second round of the contest will truly end."

Upon hearing Evan Stetford’s words, Wang the Daoist was the first to question, "Young Master Evan, but do these issues have anything to do with our Celestial Master Sect?"

It seemed like wanting them to unravel the mystery, but isn’t this beyond a Heavenly Master’s responsibility?

Evan Stetford paused momentarily, as if pondering, then said, "For now, Mrs. Fang and Miss Tang’s commissions don’t necessarily require the Celestial Master’s involvement, which is why the committee wants to know why they turned to our Celestial Path Sect for these tasks."
