"Now that you’ve dropped her off, you can leave, right?" Gu Qingxin also lowered her voice and said to Beiming Han.

"Mom, I specially arranged a dinner to welcome you tonight. No outsiders, just our family having a meal together." Beiming Han ignored what she’d said, the smile on his face warm like a spring breeze.

"No need to go to all that trouble, it’s enough for us to have a reunion dinner at home." Lin Yin smiled at her son-in-law, finding him more and more pleasing to the eye.

"That’s what I was thinking too. Everyone’s so happy today, we should just sit together and chat, and not bother cooking. I’ll order some dishes and have them sent home for us to eat." Beiming Han suggested considerately.

"Alright, I’ll let you decide." Lin Yin realized that on this visit back, Beiming Han really had changed a lot, and that made her even more at ease.

"Is there anything you feel like eating?" Beiming Han looked every bit the dutiful son-in-law.

"I’m fine with anything. Baobei, what do you want to eat?"

Gu Qingxin stood there, frowning and glaring at Beiming Han. Beside her, Xiao Yi tugged at her hand. "Qingxin-jie, don’t be mad, Auntie will notice."

"Qingxin, what are you and Xiao Yi doing standing over there? Come sit." Lin Yin saw that her daughter still hadn’t come over and turned her head to call her.

"Oh, okay." Gu Qingxin walked into the living room and shot Beiming Han a look. "Come with me for a second, I need to discuss something with you."

"What can’t you say here? Mom’s not an outsider." Beiming Han smiled, looking simple and harmless.

"Mom, please look after Baobei for a bit. We’ll be right back." Gu Qingxin went over and tugged on Beiming Han.

"Mom, you sit first, I’ll come keep you company in a minute." Beiming Han stood up and followed behind Gu Qingxin back to the room.

Once they entered the bedroom, Gu Qingxin closed the door. Lin Yin just assumed the young couple had something private to talk about and didn’t pay any more attention.

"In a bit, find an excuse to leave first. I’ll explain everything to my mom tomorrow."

Gu Qingxin knew very well that there was no way to keep what was going on between her and Beiming Han a secret. Instead of dragging it out and suffering, she might as well come clean sooner. She believed that with how much her mom loved her, she would definitely understand.

"Xin’er... I don’t want to go. I want to be with you all. I don’t want to be apart, not even for a moment." Beiming Han stepped forward, trying to grab her shoulders, but Gu Qingxin quickly backed away.

"Stop doing these pointless things, nothing can be changed." Gu Qingxin raised her hand to stop him.

"No matter what you say, I’m not giving up!" Beiming Han stared at her deeply for a moment, then turned and walked out of the bedroom.

Gu Qingxin felt her heart lurch, and she hurried after him. Beiming Han had already gone into the living room and was telling Lin Yin that something urgent had suddenly come up, so he had to leave first.

Lin Yin glanced at her daughter, then went to see Beiming Han out.

"Did you two have a fight?" Lin Yin frowned at her daughter.

Gu Qingxin suddenly felt a bit tired. She shook her head. "No, Mom. You’ve been on a plane for so long, go get some rest first."

There was no way Lin Yin would go rest; she only wanted to spend more time with her two precious grandkids.
