Deviant Kings: Claimed by The Four Lycan Kings
Chapter 92: The Prince’s Fury
Adeline’s pov~
I hesitated for a fraction of a second before reaching out to give him a brief, polite handshake. The moment my fingers touched his, a strong wave of alpha power radiated off him. It was strong, steady, and dominant... but it wasn’t suffocating. It didn’t carry that lethal, terrifying pressure that always bled off the four Lycan Princes. It felt... safe.
"Adrian was just telling me how much he wanted to meet you," Sierra chimed in, nudging my shoulder playfully.
Adrian looked straight into my eyes, his golden gaze warm and inviting.
"Adeline... would you like to go on a date with me this weekend?" Adrian asked directly, his tone filled with genuine curiosity and respect.
A date? Why? That was the first question that came to my mind. A highborn alpha is asking me out on a date without any hidden motives? My brain stalled. I knew that he knew I didn’t have a scent.
My throat went completely bone-dry. I panicked, glancing over at Sierra, who was giving me aggressive, continuous nods with a massive grin plastered on her face.
"I... I—" I stammered, my mind racing as I tried to formulate a polite way to reject a highborn alpha without offending him.
"Didn’t you say you have a study hour with Blake?"
A deep, commanding voice came from behind me. I froze, the blood draining completely from my face as I turned my head around. Raven stood just a few feet away, his broad shoulders squared, his piercing dark eyes burning with an unholy, possessive fury as he glared past me.
"So what exactly are you doing here, Adeline?" Raven murmured, his voice calm as he took a slow, deliberate step toward us.
Raven stepped up directly beside me. Kai, Adrian, and Sierra immediately stiffened, lowering their heads in a polite, respectful bow to the royal prince. But Raven didn’t even glance at them. His burning dark eyes were locked on me.
He was furious, the kind that sent a sudden spike of adrenaline straight through my blood. His jaw was clenched so tight I could see the muscle ticking violently beneath his skin, the thick veins along his neck pulsing with suppressed rage. His dark aura radiated off him.
Sierra spoke up, breaking the suffocating silence. "Lord Raven... we were just planning an outing... since we have a few days off starting next week..."
Raven didn’t look at her. His gaze remained fixed on my face, burning straight into my soul. "Is that so? An outing?" he murmured, his eyes narrowed on me. "But you already have plans booked... don’t you, Adeline?"
I frowned, completely lost. "No—"
"Don’t lie to me," he growled, cutting me off before I could even finish my thought.
Before I could react, his large, warm hand shot out and clamped around my wrist.
"Let’s go," he growled.
His grip was unyielding, but I instinctively dug my heels into the floor, startled by his sudden, possessive grip. The moment I resisted, a low, dangerous growl rumbled from deep within his chest.
"I said... let’s go," Raven growled, his tone leaving zero room for argument. "Do not make me repeat myself."
He yanked me forward, pulling me along behind him as he turned and began marching down the hallway. I stumbled, struggling to keep up with his long, furious strides.
"Raven, let go of me!" I whispered fiercely, trying to yank my arm back. "Everyone is looking! What are you doing?!"
"You think I give a fuck about that? Let them look," he growled over his shoulder, not slowing down for a single second.
The entire corridor went dead silent. Students in the hallway violently scattered out of our path, pressing themselves against the walls, terrified to even make eye contact with him given the unholy fury radiating off his frame. What is wrong with him? Why is he acting like this?
He dragged me past the academic wings, completely leaving the main university building behind. Panic started fluttering in my chest as I realised where his long, relentless strides were leading us.
We were heading straight toward the Lycan Royal Headquarters.
The Headquarters was forbidden ground, a place where only the four Lycan Princes lived. No regular student ever set foot near its perimeter, and only staff were permitted to enter to clean, and even then, only under strict supervision. No single soul was allowed in without the princes’ explicit permission.
I looked up as we approached, getting a full view of the structure. It was massive, towering over the estate like an ancient fortress made of black stone and tinted glass.
"What are you doing?" I choked out, desperately trying to pull my wrist back as he dragged me past the grand entrance doors. "Why are you taking me to your—"
Raven snapped his head back, shutting me up with a sharp, lethal glare that made my throat lock up tight.
He didn’t answer. He kept dragging me down a private, quiet hallway that opened into a massive lounge. Marble floors stretched out beneath soft, plush carpets, surrounded by huge leather couches and a colossal stone fireplace crackling with warm flames. But he didn’t stop in the lounge. He pulled me up a grand winding staircase and shoved open a heavy door, pulling me into a private bedroom before slamming the door shut behind us.
"Why did you bring me here?!" I demanded, my voice trembling with a mix of fear and sudden, defensive anger as I rubbed my reddened wrist, staring at him.
Raven didn’t look at me right away. He reached back, his pale fingers wrapping around the lock, and clicked the door shut.
Slowly, he turned around to face me. He took a heavy, deliberate step toward me, towering over me. The dark, intoxicating scent of his Lycan aura—heavy, suffocating, and thick with storm and cedar—flooded the room, trapping me completely.
"What were you about to do out there, Adeline?" he asked, his voice low, raspy, and practically dripping with pure, unchecked anger. "Tell me what you were about to say to that Alpha."
The raw, dark intensity in his dark eyes was utterly terrifying... yet somehow, in a way I couldn’t comprehend, it sent a strange, electric thrill straight down my spine.
Should I tell him about the date? Absolutely not. I wasn’t even planning on going on that ridiculous date in the first place, and seeing him like this, I had no idea what kind of chaotic reaction it would trigger.
