Chapter 955: DDDS: Chapter 955

Ryuuji was pulled along by Touka Kirishima. Naturally, he couldn’t refuse; there was no reason to in a situation like this.

Meanwhile, the others followed Ken Kameda to his office.

Inside Ken Kameda’s office, many different types of urns were displayed. To humans, these items might seem inauspicious, but to {Ghouls}, they were simply jars and ordinary wooden boxes.

Ken Kameda made coffee at a small bar counter in the corner of the room. These coffee beans were actually gifts from Anteiku, since coffee was the only thing {Ghouls} could taste.

Although Ken Kameda didn’t run a coffee shop, he was quite professional at brewing it.

In about ten minutes or so, he had brewed a cup for everyone.

Ken Kameda’s subordinates brought the coffee to Kousen Yoshimura and the others. Kaneki Ken and Nishiki Nishio were visiting this place for the first time, so it was also the first time they learned that {Ghouls} could disguise themselves and survive in this way.

Afterward, Kousen Yoshimura, Renji Yomo, Enji Koma, and Irimi Kaya began conversing with Ken Kameda.

Feeling bored, Kaneki Ken soon noticed a book by Sen Takatsuki on the table. He couldn’t help but pick it up and start reading.

In this environment, with no one to talk to, reading was the only thing he could do quietly.

On the other side, Ryuuji, Touka Kirishima, and Hinami followed the cremation workers into an incineration room. Once everyone was inside, the workers closed the door, sealing the room completely so that no one outside could see what was happening inside.

Since they were handling the body of a comrade’s family member, the workers skipped the step of removing internal organs and directly placed Masato Fueguchi, still inside the sleeping bag, into the furnace.

"Wait!"

Just as the worker was about to close the furnace door, Hinami suddenly called out to them and said, "Let me see Dad one last time!"

Understanding her feelings, the workers stopped what they were doing and pulled the body out, waiting for Hinami to unzip the bag herself.

They didn’t do it themselves, not out of fear, but because they felt it was something meaningful for Hinami to do personally.

Hinami walked up, unzipped the sleeping bag, and opened it. Seeing her father’s face, she was overcome with sadness, and tears welled up in her eyes.

She didn’t cry out loud; she just wept silently.

Seeing Hinami standing there motionless for a long time, Ryuuji walked behind her, placed his hands on her shoulders, and said, "Hinami, let your father go quickly so he can reunite with your mother in heaven."

With Ryuuji’s reminder, Hinami zipped up the bag. The workers then swiftly pushed Masato Fueguchi back into the furnace, and this time, the door closed firmly before Hinami’s eyes.

"Everyone, step back! The temperature near the furnace will get very high!" the workers kindly reminded them.

Hearing this, Ryuuji pulled Hinami and Touka Kirishima back against the wall. After confirming everything was safe, the workers activated the incinerator.

Soon, the sound of the machine operating filled the room, accompanied by the deep roar of raging flames burning inside.
