Devouring Soul Emperor

Chapter 681 - 681: Wind Shadow Sword Intent

  • Next Chapter

The pig blocking Chu Qingyun's path stood over ten meters tall, its body stretching more than twenty meters long. Its four legs were like towering pillars.

Standing before it, Chu Qingyun looked positively tiny.

The Giant Pig Blood Beast was dark red all over, its body faintly covered in a thin layer of a bloody glow.

It glared fixedly at Chu Qingyun with its fist-sized, dark-red eyes. Muffled, guttural growls rumbled from its throat as disgusting drool dripped incessantly from its mouth.

With an aura equivalent to a second-level Martial King, this Giant Pig Blood Beast possessed strength that surpassed a Low-Grade Tier Four Demon Beast, putting it on par with a Middle-Grade one.

And unlike the Blood Beasts of the Martial Spirit Realm, this one possessed a flicker of consciousness.

It sensed that devouring Chu Qingyun would bring it immense benefits!

The Giant Pig Blood Beast let out a monstrous roar, opened its cavernous, bloody maw, and charged forward to bite Chu Qingyun.

The very earth trembled and cracked under its charge.

"Beast! You're courting death!"

"Thunder Sword Intent!"

With a cold cry, Chu Qingyun instantly drew his sword and unleashed his Thunder Sword Intent.

Thunder gathered in the sky above. In the blink of an eye, a Sea of Thunder and Lightning over two hundred meters in diameter materialized from nothing. Dazzling bolts of lightning converged, forming a two-hundred-meter-long giant thunder sword that came crashing down, stabbing toward the Giant Pig Blood Beast.

The Giant Pig Blood Beast was practically brainless and made no attempt to dodge.

BOOM! The giant thunder sword slammed into the Blood Beast's back and exploded on impact.

The terrifying Thunder Power instantly tore a massive, gruesome, bone-deep wound upon the Blood Beast's back. A torrent of viscous, dark-red blood sprayed out like rain.

The Giant Pig Blood Beast cried out in pain, its body trembling violently. Dark-red blood gushed from its back like a spring.

However, despite the grievous injury, the Giant Pig Blood Beast paused for only a moment before letting out another furious roar and pouncing at Chu Qingyun with even greater ferocity.

A heart-stopping Blood Aura now blazed in its eyes!

'This Blood Beast's Life Power is terrifying...'

Chu Qingyun couldn't help but marvel.

An injury that severe would have felled even a Tier Four Demon Beast, but for a Blood Beast, it only served to enrage it further and make it erupt with even more terrifying power.

"Blood Flame!"

Facing the Giant Pig Blood Beast's charge once more, Chu Qingyun did not use his Sword Intent. Instead, he activated the Ten Thousand Spirits Saint Body Secret Technique and fearlessly met the attack head-on.

A scorching heat flooded Chu Qingyun's entire body.

Stimulated and empowered by the Blood Flame, he felt a potent energy coursing through him from the inside out, a power he was bursting to unleash.

Chu Qingyun moved with incredible speed. He left a faint, blood-red afterimage in his wake and appeared before the Blood Beast in an instant.

The Giant Pig Blood Beast was ten meters tall.

Its head alone was larger than a house.

Chu Qingyun leaped into the air and, unleashing his full power, threw a vicious punch that landed squarely on the Blood Beast's forehead, just above its eyes.

SPLAT!

Immense power was unleashed. The Blood Beast's flesh was instantly torn to shreds, leaving a gaping wound over two meters in diameter on its forehead that exposed the grim white bone of its skull.

The punch contained terrifying power.

The blow was powerful enough to bring even the Giant Pig Blood Beast to a dead stop. It shook its head wildly and let out an enraged, agonized howl.

However, after trading a blow head-on with the Giant Pig Blood Beast, Chu Qingyun was not in good shape either.

The massive rebound force sent him flying like a ragdoll. He flew backward for over three hundred meters before crashing to the ground with a THUD.

After scrambling to his feet, Chu Qingyun coughed up a mouthful of blood. He had suffered severe internal injuries from the impact.

'Just as I thought. You can't meet a Blood Beast with brute force!'

Chu Qingyun wiped the blood from his mouth and quickly popped a Healing Elixir. At the same time, he circulated his Primordial Power and the Martial Soul Power from his Iron Thread Ten-Star Vine to heal himself with all his might.

That last punch had been a fusion of many powers: the Ten Thousand Spirits Saint Body Inner Chapter, Blood Flame, Primordial Power, and Martial Soul Power. A single strike like that would have blown the head off a Low-Grade Tier Four Demon Beast.

Yet even with all that power, he was, at best, evenly matched with the Giant Pig Blood Beast.

In fact, strictly speaking, Chu Qingyun was the one at a disadvantage.

The wound on the Blood Beast's forehead looked gruesome, but for a creature with such a massive body and terrifying Life Power, it was practically nothing.

He, on the other hand, had suffered genuine internal injuries, and the circulation of his Primordial Power was now somewhat impaired.

The attempt might have seemed reckless, but it gave Chu Qingyun a much more accurate and direct understanding of the Blood Beast's true strength and capabilities.

Immense strength!

Even more immense Life Power!

These were the defining traits of Blood Beasts and Blood Corpses.

The Giant Pig Blood Beast quickly recovered and, lowering its head, charged at Chu Qingyun once more.

Having been grievously wounded twice, its aura grew even more frantic and violent.

This time, Chu Qingyun naturally wouldn't try to meet its strength head-on again.

Even with various Secret Techniques, raw physical strength had never been the primary advantage of human Martial Artists.

When facing Demon Beasts or Blood Beasts, a human Martial Artist's advantages lay in their Sword Techniques, their Martial Soul, their strategic assessment of the situation, and their flexible use of Primordial Power.

"Wind Shadow Sword Intent!"

Chu Qingyun swung his sword, this time using the Wind Shadow Sword Intent he had mastered not long ago.

Heaven and Earth Primordial Power gathered around him. Gales of wind materialized from thin air, howling as they rushed toward the charging Giant Pig Blood Beast.

The wind's force intensified dramatically, reaching a level strong enough to snap trees in the blink of an eye.

Just then, within the gales, hundred-meter-long Sword Shadows began to condense. Carried by the wind's momentum, they hacked and stabbed at the Blood Beast ahead.

The Sword Shadows were formed from the howling wind and were nearly invisible without close inspection.

As for the Giant Pig Blood Beast, it was already so frenzied it had no thought of dodging.

SLICE! SLICE! SLICE!

One after another, the hundred-meter-long Sword Shadows hacked and stabbed, continuously carving huge, bone-deep wounds into the Giant Pig Blood Beast—some even deep enough to rupture its internal organs!

Amidst the storm of wind, Sword Shadows, and flying debris, the Giant Pig Blood Beast howled in endless fury.

Copious amounts of dark-red blood jetted from its body, carried into the distance by the gales.

The power of the Sword Intent soon faded, and the fierce winds dissipated in an instant.

By now, there was hardly an uninjured spot on the Giant Pig Blood Beast's entire body. Every inch of it was smeared and stained with viscous, dark-red blood.

It had more than a dozen wounds that exposed the grim white of its bones.

The wound on its back—the one first blasted open by the Thunder Sword Intent—had now been struck again by the Wind Shadow Sword Intent. The gash was so deep that one could even see the flesh and organs within its abdomen!
