Devouring Soul Emperor
Chapter 694 - 694: Healing
Chu Qingyun naturally paid no mind to such a trivial amount of Primordial Power. With a casual wave of his hand, he dispersed it.
What he failed to notice, however, was that as Tu Guang waved his hand to release the Primordial Power, his other hand had flicked out a cloud of powder that stuck to Chu Qingyun's shoe.
After Tu Guang's figure vanished, Chu Qingyun did not let down his guard.
Only after concentrating and confirming he could no longer sense Tu Guang's whereabouts did Chu Qingyun finally let out a long sigh of relief.
Then, with a spurt, he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
'Good thing I tricked Tu Guang into leaving. Otherwise, I might have really been forced to reveal some of my secrets…' Chu Qingyun muttered, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.
Even after being weakened by the Iron Thread Ten-Star Vine, a hateful strike from a fourth-level Martial King channeling Heaven and Earth Primordial Power was simply too much for the current Chu Qingyun to withstand head-on.
Chu Qingyun cultivated the Ten Thousand Spirits Saint Body Inner Chapter and had also used the Ten Thousand Spirits Saint Body Secret Technique. As a result, his physical strength far surpassed that of an ordinary first-level Martial King.
But even so, he had still been severely injured by that giant palm of Primordial Power.
His earlier calmness and composure were just a facade he had put on to frighten Tu Guang into retreating.
Chu Qingyun walked over to Dong Yiran, only to find that he had stopped breathing at some point.
After a Martial King Realm expert dies, their Primordial Pill quickly dissipates. Dong Yiran's body had been ravaged from the inside out by the Thunder Sword Intent, leaving it a charred, mangled mess. Furthermore, his Martial Soul was just an ordinary Tier Three Martial Soul.
It held no value for devouring whatsoever.
Therefore, in his injured state, Chu Qingyun couldn't be bothered to use his Devouring Power. He simply took Dong Yiran's Storage Ring and left.
The intense battle earlier might attract powerful Blood Corpses and Blood Beasts, or perhaps other people who had come here for training. Healing here was not a good option.
Pushing through the pain, Chu Qingyun walked a great distance.
He found a relatively hidden spot in a mountain stream and stopped there to begin healing.
Chu Qingyun first swallowed a Healing Elixir, using his Primordial Power to refine it and activate its medicinal effects. Then, he took out a Blood Pill, held it in his hand, and began absorbing it with his Devouring Power.
With the combined effects of the elixir's medicinal power and the Qi and Blood Power, Chu Qingyun's injuries began to recover at an extremely fast rate.
Meanwhile, after escaping from Chu Qingyun, Tu Guang fled for his life in a sorry state for a long time, terrified that Chu Qingyun would hunt him down.
After all, the idea of eradicating a threat completely was deeply ingrained in the people of the Blood-soaked Land.
After confirming that Chu Qingyun wasn't pursuing him, Tu Guang was filled with a mixture of alarm and anger.
He had never imagined that the three of them—his brothers and himself—coming to seek revenge on Chu Qingyun would end like this!
Although he had left a special scent marker on Chu Qingyun before fleeing, allowing him to track his position from a great distance, it was merely a desperate act born from his unwillingness to give up.
In reality, he knew very well that getting revenge was basically hopeless.
Chu Qingyun's strength was simply too overwhelming for him!
"Damn it! I can't accept this! I can't!"
"He's clearly just a first-level Martial King! Why is he so strong!?"
Enraged, Tu Guang roared and unleashed his Primordial Power in a fit of frustration, leveling a large patch of forest.
After venting his anger, Tu Guang was suddenly overcome with dejection. Even his complexion turned ashen.
'I failed to avenge my son, I lost my two brothers, and I was scared into fleeing for my life. This whole venture couldn't have been a more complete failure…'
"Hahaha, we've caught a fourth-level Martial King! Looks like he's from the Blood-soaked Land!"
"Damn it, we've been looking for that brat Chu Qingyun this whole time and haven't found him, but we've caught over a dozen Martial King Realm cultivators from the Blood-soaked Land!"
"Hehe, hand over your Storage Ring and kowtow to us begging for mercy. If we're in a good mood, we might just let you live..."
Lost in his dejection, Tu Guang didn't even notice anyone approaching.
It wasn't until someone spoke that he looked up and saw that he was surrounded by seven people!
And these seven were none other than Zhou Jianxiong's group.
When they had first entered the Blood Sect ruins, they had chosen not to immediately pursue Chu Qingyun in order to avoid drawing attention. Instead, they pretended to go in a different direction, taking a roundabout route before starting their hunt.
After all, Chu Qingyun was a Core Disciple of the Saint Extreme Sect's Inner Sect. Zhou Jianxiong and his group didn't dare to be too blatant in front of so many other Saint Extreme Sect disciples.
Otherwise, it would be difficult to explain themselves upon returning to the sect.
To their surprise, however, the Blood Sect ruins were teeming with an unusual number of Martial King Realm Blood Corpses and Blood Beasts.
After their detour, they completely lost Chu Qingyun's trail and could only follow his general direction, which eventually led them here.
Frustrated at being unable to find Chu Qingyun, the seven of them had been robbing Martial Kings from the Blood-soaked Land along the way to vent their anger.
And Tu Guang was just their latest punching bag.
Upon realizing he was surrounded, Tu Guang was initially terrified. But when he heard that they were also looking for Chu Qingyun, his face instantly lit up with joy.
"Wait, did you just say you're looking for Chu Qingyun?" Tu Guang asked hurriedly.
"Hm? You know where that brat is?" Zhou Jianxiong said.
Tu Guang hesitated for a moment before asking, "What... what do you want with Chu Qingyun?"
He didn't know yet if they were friend or foe, so Tu Guang didn't rush to reveal that he could find Chu Qingyun.
Otherwise, if these seven turned out to be Chu Qingyun's friends, he would be completely finished.
"We're looking for him to kill him, of course!"
Since Tu Guang was just a Martial King from the Blood-soaked Land, Zhou Jianxiong and his group saw no need to hide their intentions.
"Excellent! Then we can cooperate! I can lead you to Chu Qingyun!" Tu Guang's eyes shone, his expression filled with irrepressible joy.
'Just when I thought all was lost, a new hope appears.'
He had thought revenge was impossible, but now he had unexpectedly run into such a group of experts!
Among these seven, six were Earth King Realm experts, including even a sixth-level Martial King and a fifth-level Martial King. As long as they could find Chu Qingyun, he was a dead man for sure!
"You can find Chu Qingyun? You? What makes you think you can?" Zhou Jianxiong and his men were clearly skeptical.
"Hehe, sirs, it's like this..."
Tu Guang briefly explained what had happened to Zhou Jianxiong and his group.
The method he used was the same as the one his son, Tu Qiang, had used before: marking the target with a special scent and then using a type of Demon Beast to track it.
After hearing his explanation, Zhou Jianxiong and the others were instantly overjoyed and immediately told Tu Guang to take out the Demon Beast and lead the way to Chu Qingyun.
Meanwhile, Zhou Yongyang, walking at the very back of the eight-man group, had a cryptic expression on his face, as if he were plotting something...
