Chapter 1773: Lunarian Kingdom!
Chapter 1773: Lunarian Kingdom!
"Let us go," Max said as he began to move despite the little eye still stuck to his left shoulder.
The small cursed eye blinked slowly as it shifted against him, and every now and then, its tiny red-black pupil moved as if studying the surroundings.
Sometimes it stayed on his shoulder. Sometimes it slid slightly across his upper arm. Sometimes it floated just a hair’s breadth away from his body before attaching itself again, as if it was neither fully physical nor fully illusory.
The sight was disturbing to everyone else, but Max did not pay it much attention after realizing that brute force could not destroy it for now. As long as this thing did not restrict his movement or interfere in his battles, he could not care less about it at the moment.
With that, the group once again began moving.
Max walked at the front, Dragonheart resting in his hand, while Caroline, Jessica, Nancy, and the other third faction elves followed closely behind him.
The path out of Witch God Valley was still filled with cursed mist, but after the death of the Abyssal Witch Eye, the pressure near the entrance had clearly weakened. The strange whispers in the air were still there, the black grass still moved without wind, and the twisted trees still seemed to watch them from both sides, but nothing dared to stop them openly.
Perhaps the death of the guardian had shaken the valley. Perhaps the little eye attached to Max had marked him in a way that made the other cursed things hesitate. Whatever the reason, their path became strangely smooth.
In no time, they arrived near the edge of the Witch God Tree.
The vast treetop world spread behind them like a cursed kingdom above the clouds, while ahead of them was the massive trunk descending into the lower sky. Countless enormous branches extended outward like mountain ridges, and thick clouds rolled beneath them, hiding the lower parts of the tree from sight.
From this height, the world below looked distant and unreal, and the enormous scale of the Witch God Tree became even more shocking. Its trunk fell through the clouds like a pillar holding up the heavens, while glowing veins within its bark pulsed faintly, as though the whole ancient tree was alive and watching their departure.
Max stopped at the edge and looked downward.
His Dimensional Sovereign Body spread its senses along the space below, but because the Witch God Tree was too large and covered in too many cursed distortions, he could not clearly see everything waiting near the bottom.
Still, the feeling in his heart told him that the path ahead would not be peaceful. Seraphine, Fin, Lumine, and the others had all been killed, but they still had lives left.
Once they revived outside, the second faction would quickly understand that Caroline had been rescued and that Max was involved. If those people were not stupid, then they would not let them leave so easily.
Max turned back and looked at everyone.
"Stay cautious," he said calmly.
Caroline’s expression became serious. "You think the second faction has people waiting below?"
"I do," Max said. "They already sent Seraphine, Fin, Lumine, and others to hunt you. Since those people failed, they will either prepare an ambush or gather more people near the bottom of the Witch God Tree. Once we reach below, there is a good chance they will attack us immediately."
Jessica clenched her sword. "Then we should descend carefully."
Max nodded. "Do not scatter. If the second faction attacks, stay behind me unless I tell you otherwise. Their target will likely be Caroline first, but after what happened inside the valley, they will also come for me."
One of the injured third faction elves said with hesitation, "Lord Max, if they have too many people..."
Max looked at him.
The elf immediately stopped speaking.
Max’s expression remained calm, but his eyes carried a cold certainty. "Numbers only matter when they can hurt me."
No one spoke after that.
Caroline looked at Max’s back, and although she wanted to remind him not to underestimate the second faction, the words did not come out. She had seen him kill Seraphine and Fin. She had seen him cut down the guardian of Witch God Valley. She had seen the power of his Divine Veins, Draconic Essences, sword path, and bloodline.
At this point, warning him like he was an ordinary young genius felt meaningless. Max understood danger, but he did not fear it. That was the difference.
Nancy moved closer to him and said quietly, "If Princess Rosaline intercepted the news, she may also come here."
Max glanced at her. "Will she be an enemy?"
Nancy hesitated for a moment. "I do not know. She is a princess of the Lunarian Kingdom ruling a good chunk of many star realms and her force is also considered one of the strongest 1st rate forces standing on equal terms with Sword God Palace and War God Palace."
She added. "Since you have killed his men before coming here, there might be a chance she would intercept you."
Max looked down at the clouds below. "Then she can speak after I deal with the ones trying to stop us."
The little cursed eye on his shoulder blinked once, its red-black pupil rolling slightly as if it had heard him.
Max ignored it.
"Let us descend."
The moment he said that, he stepped off the edge of the treetop and began flying downward along the massive trunk of the Witch God Tree. Golden light flickered faintly around his body, not enough to reveal his full bloodline power, but enough to cut through the cursed wind rushing upward from below.
Nancy followed closely behind him, while Caroline, Jessica, and the remaining third faction elves moved in formation, keeping themselves within the range Max had indicated.
The descent began.
The clouds swallowed them almost immediately.
Cold mist rushed past their bodies, and the enormous bark of the Witch God Tree blurred beside them as they flew downward. Strange creatures hidden in the holes of the trunk watched them pass, but none dared to attack.
Some roots twitched from the bark as if tempted to lash out, but the moment Max’s gaze swept over them, they withdrew silently. The group continued falling through layer after layer of clouds, moving from the cursed upper world toward the lower regions of the Eternal Hourglass.
