Divine Beast Creator

Chapter 2807 The Purpose of Perseverance

  • Next Chapter

For Feng Yuan, who suddenly entered the battle, the Divine Beasts were both angry and helpless. That guy’s strength was entirely sufficient to suppress them all. If Feng Yuan really wanted to help Wade, there was nothing they could do.

As for trying to persuade him? They didn’t think that was possible. Even they would not easily change their decisions because of others’ words.

"What exactly is this guy trying to do?!"

Agunas helplessly activated its Divine Beast Technique to break through the blockade. Unfortunately, Feng Yuan’s strength was too overwhelming. The fire wall dividing the battlefield was more powerful than they were, and they couldn’t break the fire wall to regroup.

The Lorraine Tower, as the Divine Beast of time, primarily used the power of time against enemies. Normally, defensive ultimate moves were far less effective against the power of time.

However, the opponent was Feng Yuan, whose strength was incomparable to those of past enemies.

With a strange smile on his face, Feng Yuan casually summoned a large number of arrows. These chaotic-colored arrows were dazzling as if they contained every color yet appeared utterly pitch-black. This was pure destructive energy, a type of energy that did not belong to any Spirit Beast attribute.

Feeling the potency of that energy, Lorraine Tower was on high alert. Feng Yuan’s strength was already much higher than theirs, and now he was using power from beyond the world. Could it be that he truly intended to help Wade capture the World Source?

In any case, they had to do everything to stop him!

Thinking this, Lorraine Tower no longer held back, the power of time continuously surging, revealing phantoms from different eras on various space sources crossing paths. Looking at Feng Yuan, Lorraine Tower shook its wings, launching a pure white beam at him.

With a slight smile, Feng Yuan waved his hand, and those arrows shot toward Lorraine Tower like an Arrow Rain. The beam vanished amidst the Arrow Rain, but Lorraine Tower’s full-force strike was entirely incapable of stopping that destructive Arrow Rain.

Wade once again vanished into the shadows. The fire wall not only restricted other Divine Beasts from besieging him but also limited his Shadow Walking. At the very least, this ability couldn’t let him cross the fire wall and leave this battlefield.

However, Wade wasn’t thinking of running away. Vanishing into the shadows was merely for a better strike.

The opponent knew Wade’s background and didn’t dare to be careless upon seeing him vanish into the shadows. An ice wall pierced the ground, forming an Ice Barrier beside it. At that moment, Wade emerged from the shadows, a black spear thrusting forth, piercing through the Ice Barrier.

The reason the Divine Beast set up the Ice Barrier wasn’t simply because this ultimate move matched its attribute. As the Ice Barrier was penetrated, cracks quickly spread across it.

In an instant, the Ice Barrier exploded, countless ice shards launching indiscriminate attacks in all directions. The chill took over this space, forcibly nullifying all invisibility and hiding effects in the area, and causing all targets to slow down.

However, this had no effect on Wade. Feeling the chaotic cold within him, Wade gazed firmly at his opponent, the spear piercing the Divine Beast, unleashing the dark power that instantly dealt significant damage to the Divine Beast.

Just when Wade intended to finish it off, the fire wall suddenly surged, separating him from the Divine Beast. In the next moment, flames engulfed the Divine Beast, shocking all other beasts.

Even if Wade could severely hurt a Divine Beast, he might not be able to kill it. After all, Divine Beasts were too special, and Wade didn’t have the power to break through the rules that protected them.

However, Feng Yuan was different. His strength exceeded the world itself. The world’s rules couldn’t affect him, at least not to the extent of restricting Feng Yuan from delivering a fatal blow to a Divine Beast.

Fortunately, that Divine Beast soon reported safe through the Divine Beast intelligence network. Though it was forcibly sent out of the Realm of the World by the flames, there was no other issue; Feng Yuan hadn’t attacked it.

However, Feng Yuan’s method wasn’t just about dividing the battlefield; even entry and exit to the Realm of the World were restricted. At least now, the Divine Beast couldn’t re-enter the Realm of the World.

This startled Wade, but seeing the Divine Beast trying to break through the blockade made him slightly relieved.

The redivided battlefield had Wade once again facing a new Divine Beast. Knowing that Wade just dealt with one of their companions, the opponent was naturally extremely cautious.

Before Wade could act, the opponent took action first. The power of the earth surged in this space, resonating with the nearby space sources, as pillars of rock emerged and earth dragons coiled around them, before launching themselves at Wade.

Once again vanishing into the shadows, Wade didn’t strike immediately. This was the opponent’s Divine Beast Technique, and if those earth dragons ensnared him, defeat and regret were possible even for him.

He must not lose! At least, not fail here so easily!

Relying on Feng Yuan? Better not. He truly didn’t understand what that guy was thinking, and his intervention hadn’t completely seemed like assistance.

Even Lorraine Tower, a top-level Divine Beast, couldn’t withstand Feng Yuan. Still, it hadn’t expected not to be removed from the Realm of the World.

Looking at the shifting fire wall, Lorraine Tower pondered, what exactly was that guy’s intention? Was he planning to let Wade handle all opponents himself?

No, it shouldn’t be that. But then, why was there this distinction?

While Lorraine Tower pondered, Wade had already dealt with several opponents in succession. However, there were too many Divine Beasts gathered by Agunas. If it weren’t for Feng Yuan, Wade wasn’t sure how long he could hold out.

Gazing at Wade, now positioned before him, Agunas flicked his tail and said,

"Knowing something is impossible, yet you persist. That’s unlike you."

"Words mean nothing."

Wade had no intention of defending himself. Since they initially made their pact, he had decided he wouldn’t turn back! Even if faced with all the Divine Beasts, he would forge ahead! Until he could no longer awaken!

"Truly... Where there is darkness, there is light, yet why is this so unique."

With a wave of Little Claw, Agunas sighed. As Feng Yuan unleashed the World Hourglass, he was no longer hesitant and could fully unleash the Divine Beast Technique, though Wade might not necessarily prevail against him.

Though the intersecting fire walls limited the Divine Beasts to a certain range and prevented them from crossing, this didn’t hinder them from perceiving with spiritual power.

Normally, compared to Agunas, Wade was less powerful, exacerbated by his previous battles. Facing Agunas, he soon fell into a disadvantage.

Yet, even so, Wade didn’t give up. He utilized the power of shadows to its fullest, with resistance to rules bolstered, preventing Agunas from using time’s power to stop Wade from Shadow Walking.

Even so, Wade’s injuries worsened continuously.

"Is it worth it? Knowing it’s impossible, to end it here."

"Is this truly what you all wish for?"

"Knowing you could continue living, wasn’t that your original wish?"

Agunas calmly stared ahead and said, as a spear emerged from behind it, the phantom of the Time River appeared with waves crashing towards Wade, struck by time’s power, Wade was once again sent flying, rolling to the ground, he vanished into shadows, and a bland voice came through

"This is our wish, to persist alone. We can’t achieve it, nor accept it."

"So... sorry!"

Repelling Wade once more, Agunas expressionlessly said,

"You know it’s impossible, and it cannot leave with you, why make it sad."

"Tch, I didn’t expect you to find out, but... I still want to see what might happen."

At this moment, Feng Yuan suddenly spoke, waving his hand, the black-robed phantom threw the Dark Scythe, which transformed in mid-air into a dark red spear with a chain tail.

"Spike Chain Lance, heh, name doesn’t matter, just made it up, the point is... all Divine Beasts involved in this matter, don’t move~"

Looking at Lorraine Tower, Feng Yuan said with a peculiar smile, as the dark red spear hit Lorraine Tower, causing it no harm, yet at the instant of impact, numerous scarlet chains spread out, centered on it.

At first puzzled, Agunas felt as though it couldn’t leave its current area, a restriction on the world level, which it couldn’t lift.

Why would Feng Yuan do this? They weren’t going to suddenly escape...

"Luring the tiger away from the mountain!!!"

Agunas shouted in shock and anger.
