Chapter 714 - 713: Young Master Xiao
Young Master Xiao now intended to kill Lu Tao's group of four. At his words, the two middle-aged men who always followed behind him began walking slowly toward Lu Tao and the others.
Not the slightest hint of an aura emanated from the two men, so Lu Tao and his friends had no way of knowing their cultivation level.
But the four of them, long accustomed to their prodigal ways, were hardly going to be scared off by some "Young Master Xiao." While it was true that Lin Yun had put all four of them in their place before, it was in their nature to look down on everyone else—with the sole exception of Lin Yun himself.
With a flash from his Space Ring, Lu Tao produced a Token. It bore the large, distinct emblem of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild. Upon seeing this Token, the two middle-aged men halted, and even Young Master Xiao, his face a mask of killing intent, found his eyes narrowing.
Young Master Xiao knew what the bronze Token in Lu Tao's hand represented. Throughout the entire Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild, fewer than a hundred people possessed a Token like Lu Tao's.
This cyan Token from the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild signified that Lu Tao was a young Alchemist being heavily cultivated by the Guild. Anyone who held such a Token would receive strict protection at any branch of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild they visited.
Furthermore, if Lu Tao were to be killed, the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild would absolutely not let the matter rest.
In other words, Lu Tao's possession of this Token marked him as a young talent being nurtured by the Medicine and Artifact Master Guild Headquarters—a promising young Alchemist or Artifact Refiner in whom the Guild placed great hope.
After Lu Tao revealed his Token, Guan Renjie also produced an identical one. Faced with two cyan Tokens from the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild, Young Master Xiao hesitated.
While his own status meant he wasn't particularly afraid of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild, he knew nothing good would come of pushing them too far.
Besides, Lu Tao and Guan Renjie had already revealed their Tokens. If Young Master Xiao were to kill them now, the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild would surely see it as a blatant provocation.
After a moment of silence, Young Master Xiao decided to let the matter slide. Recalling his two guards, he gave a cold snort and turned to walk toward Hua Yu again.
However, Young Master Xiao had clearly underestimated the audacity of Lu Tao's group. He had chosen to swallow his pride, but Lu Tao, Token in hand, took the initiative to shout.
"What's wrong, kid? Scared now? I'll give you a way out. Disappear from my sight within three breaths, and I'll spare you."
Lu Tao wasn't one to let someone off the hook once he had the upper hand. As soon as he spoke, the Monk and Daoist chimed in, "Yeah, you hear that, kid? Scram if you know what's good for you."
That Lu Tao's group would actually start taunting him! Hearing their jeers, the young man—who had just decided to let things go—felt a rage erupt within him like a volcano.
'Who do they think I am? To be mocked repeatedly by four ants at the Celestial Spirit Realm, here of all places, in the Eastern Domain?' His expression turned frigid. The young man stopped in his tracks and turned to look at the four. The last trace of apprehension vanished from his eyes, replaced by a deep, murderous intent.
"You four ants. Good. Very good," the young man snarled at his two guards. "Kill them. I want their corpses chopped into pieces and fed to the dogs."
Hearing this, the two guards exchanged a glance. One of them looked at Young Master Xiao and quietly tried to reason with him, "Young Master, those two hold Tokens from the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild. Killing them in public will likely infuriate the Guild."
But he was beyond listening to any advice. The fury in the young man's eyes was about to boil over. "I told you to kill them, so you kill them!" he shouted coldly. "What? Do you think I'm afraid of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild?"
The young man was completely consumed by rage. But facing his fury, Lu Tao's group were no pushovers. All four were prodigals of the highest order, and what's more, having seen that Lin Yun had two Saints for bodyguards, they had grown even bolder. 'Worst comes to worst,' they thought, 'Lin Yun can handle it.'
It had to be said, their line of thinking was completely shameless; they were treating Lin Yun as their personal safety net.
"Hmph, I, Lord Buddha, have traveled far and wide. If you've got the guts, just you try and lay a finger on me today."
"Some little pest who crawled out of who-knows-where dares to act so high and mighty in front of me, a Daoist master!"
"Exactly! Go on, try and touch us! Let's see if you can even make it out of this city alive."
Not only were Lu Tao and his friends unafraid, they actually began to taunt him.
Their words were like pouring oil on a fire. Hearing their insults, Young Master Xiao's rage intensified. Feeling as if he would choke on his own fury, he bellowed, "Tear them into a thousand pieces!"
Young Master Xiao was now utterly incandescent with rage. Hearing his command again, the two middle-aged men had no other choice. They prepared to strike, and at that moment, their Elemental Power finally erupted from their bodies.
An overwhelming wave of Elemental Power and pressure instantly enveloped Lu Tao and his friends. Stunned by this immense power, they froze. These two middle-aged men... they were actually Saints of the Earth Saint Realm!.........
Having two Saints as protectors clearly meant that this Young Master Xiao's background was anything but simple. In the face of Saints, Lu Tao's group had no power to retaliate whatsoever. They wouldn't even have a chance to send for Lin Yun. Now, the four of them knew they had picked a fight with the wrong person.
Young Master Xiao's killing intent was overflowing. He no longer cared about the Tokens in Lu Tao and Guan Renjie's hands. Even if he incurred the wrath of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master's Guild, he was confident he could handle the consequences.
"Four ants," the young man roared, "Today, I'd like to see who can possibly save you! Do it! Chop their corpses into pieces and throw them to the dogs!"
Facing two Saints, Lu Tao and his friends had no hope of survival. Hua Yu, who had been standing off to the side, showed no intention of intervening. After all, she didn't know the four of them, and Young Master Xiao's status was extraordinary. She had no desire to offend him.
It was a situation of near-certain death. However, Lu Tao's group's reaction was rather surprising—they didn't immediately piss themselves in terror. Instead, their minds raced, desperately searching for a countermeasure.
Suddenly, the Monk's eyes lit up. He had a plan. But from the look in his eyes, it was clearly a devious one.
"Hmph, go ahead and kill us if you have the guts," the Monk shouted at Young Master Xiao. "We were sent by our Young Master today to extend an invitation to Miss Hua Yu. If you kill us, he will surely avenge us!"
Hearing the Monk's words, the anger in Young Master Xiao's eyes flared. His high status had forged an incredibly arrogant and proud personality.
And especially since this involved Miss Hua Yu, the flames of his anger became utterly uncontrollable.
Seeing the change in Young Master Xiao's expression, the Monk sensed his ploy was working and immediately pressed his advantage. "Our Young Master has admired Miss Hua Yu for a very long time! If you kill us, he will definitely avenge us! And when that time comes, Miss Hua Yu will be his!"
