Chapter 720 - 719: Winning Over the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild

Chapter 720: Chapter 719: Winning Over the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild

Hua Yu was already prepared to make his move. Lin Yun’s Combat Power was formidable, but in the past few days, Hua Yu had learned everything there was to know about the people around him from the Monk and his three companions.

Most of them had Cultivation at the Celestial Spirit Realm; some, like Li Tian, hadn’t even reached it yet. If he couldn’t kill Lin Yun, then he would just eliminate the people by his side.

Naturally, Lin Yun was unaware of this. At this moment, he was in the middle of discussing important matters with Chairman Chen.

Lin Yun had always wanted to win over the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild. Although Alchemists and Artifact Refiners had weak Combat Power, their influence was extremely strong.

If he could form an alliance with the Eastern Domain branch of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild, many Martial Artists throughout the domain would likely side with the Flawless Palace. After all, no one would want to needlessly offend Alchemists and Artifact Refiners.

Furthermore, with the help of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild, the Flawless Palace would no longer have to worry about Spirit Soldiers and Elixirs. The Guild might not provide any heaven-defying Elixirs, but their stock of ordinary Healing Medicine was immense.

For Lin Yun to win over the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild, he needed Master Chen’s approval. After hearing Lin Yun out, Chairman Chen neither agreed nor refused outright.

Looking at Lin Yun, Chairman Chen said slowly, "Young Master Lin, our Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild has a long-standing policy of not participating in the struggles between powers. We are aware of some of the Qing Zhu Association’s activities, but for us to form an alliance with the Flawless Palace... I’m afraid..."

Chairman Chen meant that he wanted to remain neutral. After all, Alchemists and Artifact Refiners were not made for combat. It was a widely acknowledged fact that, at the same Realm, their Combat Power was very low.

Hearing Chairman Chen’s words, Lin Yun did not give up. The importance of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild was self-evident. To confront the Qing Zhu Association head-on, he had to win them over.

"Master Chen, the Qing Zhu Association’s ambition is common knowledge, and I’m sure you’ve heard of their methods. If you let the Qing Zhu Association unify the Eastern Domain, I’m sure you can imagine the consequences," Lin Yun said calmly.

At Lin Yun’s words, Master Chen fell silent. He was naturally aware of the Qing Zhu Association’s methods. Although the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild did not participate in conflicts, that didn’t mean they turned a blind eye to the world.

If the Qing Zhu Association truly unified the Eastern Domain as Lin Yun suggested, it would absolutely be a bad thing for the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild.

Seeing Master Chen remain silent, Lin Yun continued, "The era of the Six Great Forces of the Eastern Domain is over. In the future, the Eastern Domain will likely have only one power. Master Chen, now is the time to choose. No power can afford to stay out of this storm."

Hearing this, Master Chen looked at Lin Yun, his eyes filled with a complex expression.

The Eastern Domain was indeed facing a great reshuffling. The era of the Six Great Forces had come to a definitive end. The coming war would decide who would rule the Eastern Domain.

After staring at Lin Yun for a long moment, Master Chen finally asked, "Young Master Lin, the strength the Qing Zhu Association has displayed so far already far surpasses that of the Flawless Palace. Even with Qingfeng and his companion, do you really think you can defeat the Qing Zhu Association? And how am I supposed to be convinced of your strength?"

Master Chen had finally spoken his mind. If he was to bet the entire Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild on Lin Yun, he had to be certain of Lin Yun’s strength. At the very least, he needed to see a glimmer of hope for victory.

With a faint smile, Lin Yun said calmly, "The Flawless Palace alone is naturally no match for the Qing Zhu Association. But what if we add the Celestial Spirit Auction House? And the Spiritual Light Pavilion? And what about the Saint-Breaking Celestial Pill I have in my possession?"

This was no time to hide his strength. To win over the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild, Lin Yun had to make Master Chen acknowledge his power. After all, no one ever chose to back a weakling.

Lin Yun had asked three consecutive questions. Hearing his words, Chairman Chen’s gaze fixed on him. At that moment, Master Chen finally revealed the domineering aura befitting his status as the person in charge of the Eastern Domain’s Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild.

Chairman Chen remained silent for a long time, his gaze seeming to pierce right through Lin Yun. If what Lin Yun said was true, then this alliance would truly have the strength to fight the Qing Zhu Association.

The Celestial Spirit Auction House, much like the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild, was one of the hegemonic powers of the Celestial Spirit Continent. Its branch in the Eastern Domain was by no means weaker than any of the Six Great Forces.

With the help of the Celestial Spirit Auction House and the addition of the Spiritual Light Pavilion, Lin Yun’s faction would indeed be powerful enough to contend with the Qing Zhu Association.

Lin Yun didn’t rush him, simply sitting calmly across from Master Chen. This was a monumental choice for Master Chen, and he certainly wouldn’t agree to it lightly.

After a long silence, Master Chen finally asked, "If the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild joins your alliance, what would you need from us?"

"It’s simple," Lin Yun replied directly. "I don’t need the members of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild to fight. What I need is the Guild’s powerful influence and a large supply of Healing Medicine."

Indeed, Lin Yun had never intended to have the Guild’s members fight. After all, given the low Combat Power of Alchemists and Artifact Refiners, they would be nothing more than cannon fodder on the battlefield.

Hearing this, Master Chen’s expression softened. Alchemists and Artifact Refiners were indeed not suited for combat; their greatest strength lay in their influence.

Master Chen did not agree on the spot. He told Lin Yun he needed to discuss the matter with the other leaders of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild. After all, this was a gamble that involved staking their entire Eastern Domain branch.

Therefore, Master Chen had to be extremely cautious. He could not afford to make the slightest mistake. If Lin Yun were defeated by the Qing Zhu Association, the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild would certainly be dragged down with him.

Lin Yun didn’t press the issue. He simply smiled and nodded, telling Master Chen that he would eagerly await his good news.

When Lin Yun left the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild, Master Chen had someone escort him back.

Watching Lin Yun’s departing figure, Master Chen murmured softly to himself, "The entire Celestial Spirit Continent is in chaos. It seems the Eastern Domain cannot escape it either."

Master Chen was right. The entire Celestial Spirit Continent, with the exception of the Central Domain, was in turmoil. Just as in the Eastern Domain, strange yet powerful new forces had emerged in the other three of the Four Great Domains, throwing them all into a massive reshuffling.

Upon returning to his courtyard and stepping through the gate, Lin Yun saw Li Tian waiting for him in the pavilion. A strange smile spread across Li Tian’s face as he watched Lin Yun approach.

"Young Master Lin," Li Tian said with a grin, looking at Lin Yun, "Hua Yu fell for it. What’s more, the Monk and his three companions overheard that Hua Yu is actually a member of the Qing Zhu Association, and tonight........"
