Chapter 723 - 722: The Great Purge

Chapter 723: Chapter 722: The Great Purge

Cornered by Lin Yun from the front and Little Ape from behind, Hua Yu had no way out. Her face darkened as she stared at Lin Yun. She had only been at the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild for a few days, yet in a single night, he had rendered her utterly defenseless.

As someone who had come from the Central Domain, Hua Yu had always looked down on the Martial Artists of the Eastern Domain. However, she never expected that Lin Yun’s cunning and methods would so completely surpass her expectations.

Dealing with Hua Yu required almost no effort from Lin Yun. He easily sealed her cultivation and brought her under control. The only thing left was to figure out how to leave the Desire Immortal Tower.

Before making his move, Lin Yun had already made some inquiries about the Desire Immortal Tower. Master Chen was quite familiar with it, as it was located within the city that housed the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild.

Master Chen had told Lin Yun only that the true owner of the Desire Immortal Tower was from the Central Domain and was a figure of some note there.

Of course, a person of some note in the Central Domain was considered a top-tier figure in the Eastern Domain. After all, the Central Domain was the heart of the entire Celestial Spirit Continent.

However, the true owner of the Desire Immortal Tower rarely visited the Eastern Domain. The Shopkeeper here was merely a figurehead with no real authority; most matters were handled remotely by the owner in the Central Domain.

"Lin Yun, what’s the use in capturing me? Do you really think you can get me out of the Desire Immortal Tower on your own?" Despite being captured by Lin Yun, Hua Yu showed no signs of panic, instead speaking with a cold smile.

At her words, a cold sneer tugged at Lin Yun’s lips. ’Li Tian has already made all the arrangements for this. I’m not the one who will be taking you out of here.’

If Lin Yun had planned on taking Hua Yu out of the Desire Immortal Tower himself from the start, he wouldn’t have waited this long.

"The Qing Zhu Association’s stronghold has probably been razed to the ground by now," Lin Yun said calmly, ignoring Hua Yu’s question.

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, Hua Yu felt a surge of foreboding. He spoke with far too much confidence. Besides, there was no reason for him to have stayed here, chatting with her for so long.

Hua Yu wasn’t stupid. She quickly realized Lin Yun must have another move planned. She looked at him, her expression turning tense. "The Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild..."

"Not so stupid after all," Lin Yun said calmly. "Master Chen from the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild will be here shortly to escort you back. As for everything else... you can explain that to the Guild yourself."

Just as Lin Yun finished speaking, Li Tian and Master Chen pushed the door open and entered. Trailing behind them was the Shopkeeper of the Desire Immortal Tower.

A commotion could be heard from the main hall on the first floor. It seemed the people from the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild had clashed with the staff of the Desire Immortal Tower.

"Young Master Lin, it’s done," Li Tian said softly, approaching Lin Yun.

Lin Yun gave a slight nod. At that moment, however, the Shopkeeper of the Desire Immortal Tower strode to Hua Yu’s side and glared at Lin Yun, roaring, "So you’re Lin Yun? What an arrogant brat! No one is taking Hua Yu today! The Desire Immortal Tower is not to be trifled with!"

The Shopkeeper immediately made it clear he would protect Hua Yu at all costs. Hearing the man’s furious shout, Lin Yun showed no trace of anger. He simply rose to his feet, looked at the Shopkeeper, and said with a faint smile:

"I never intended to take Miss Hua Yu away. I was merely helping Chairman Chen buy some time. The rest is between your Desire Immortal Tower and the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild."

’I have no intention of getting involved,’ Lin Yun thought. ’I’ve already helped the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild more than enough. Now it’s time to see what they’re capable of. If they can’t even handle a minor establishment like the Desire Immortal Tower, then I’ll have to seriously reconsider my cooperation with them.’

Just as Lin Yun expected, Master Chen, being a man accustomed to a high position, immediately barked at the Shopkeeper, "The Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild is taking this woman. Does the Desire Immortal Tower intend to make an enemy of us?"

Although Master Chen’s cultivation was only at the Spirit Realm, he was a genuine, veteran Earth Level Nine-Stars Alchemist and the head of the Eastern Domain branch. Seeing Master Chen’s fury, the Shopkeeper of the Desire Immortal Tower was momentarily at a loss.

"Guards! Seize this woman and escort her back to the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild! I will interrogate her myself!" Master Chen boomed.

At Master Chen’s command, the Guard Commander of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild quickly entered, followed by two guards at the Celestial Spirit Realm. All three were spattered with blood, likely from the recent bloody battle with members of the Qing Zhu Association.

The Guard Commander showed the Shopkeeper of the Desire Immortal Tower no respect whatsoever. With a furious roar, his two Celestial Spirit Realm guards swiftly apprehended Hua Yu.

"Master Chen... isn’t your Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild being a bit too tyrannical? Barging into my Desire Immortal Tower and seizing someone like this, don’t you owe us an explanation?" Unable to stop them, the Shopkeeper could only turn to Master Chen and plead his case.

Master Chen paid him no mind. The Qing Zhu Association had already infiltrated the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild. If he didn’t take decisive, ruthless action now, his tenure as the head of the Eastern Domain would be a complete failure.

Secret infiltration by a rival power is the greatest fear of any organization. The Qing Zhu Association’s actions had undoubtedly revealed their ambitions toward the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild.

Since the Qing Zhu Association had made the first move, Master Chen knew that the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild could no longer remain on the sidelines.

With Hua Yu handed over to Master Chen, Lin Yun and Li Tian stepped back completely. What happened next would depend entirely on Master Chen’s methods.

Returning to his own quarters, Lin Yun did not interfere in the affairs of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild. Meanwhile, Master Chen demonstrated his own swift and decisive handling of the matter.

As the head of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild in the Eastern Domain, Master Chen might have seemed affable on a normal day, but when it came to crucial decisions, he was truly a ruthless and decisive man.

That very day, by some unknown method, Master Chen made Hua Yu divulge the names of all the personnel who had infiltrated the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild.

With the list in hand, Master Chen immediately launched a massive purge. Every single person on it, regardless of their position, was executed by the Guild’s guards.

There was no interrogation. Master Chen had issued a kill order for everyone on the list, and he would not listen to any pleas or explanations.

This was all because the list Hua Yu provided was simply too horrifying. The Eastern Domain Branch of the Medicine and Artifact Master Guild had been infiltrated by the Qing Zhu Association from its lowest ranks all the way to its core.

If Lin Yun hadn’t uncovered the existence of this list, the entire Eastern Domain Branch of the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild would have likely been hollowed out by the Qing Zhu Association before long.

This was something Master Chen could not tolerate.
