Chapter 670 - 670: The Forum Was Hacked?
After granting the title, the Chief Moderator also sent Zhao Yuan a private message. He started with a few pleasantries before expressing his hope that Zhao Yuan would become a regular on the forums—ideally, by frequenting the "Morning Enlightenment, Evening Death" section to answer the various questions posed by other Cultivators.
To convince Zhao Yuan to stay, the Chief Moderator mentioned that the forum could offer him a salary.
As for the amount, that was open for discussion.
At the end of the message, the Chief Moderator left his contact information and sincerely expressed his hope that 'Senior Little Ghost' would do him the honor of getting in touch.
Just as he sent the message, the Chief Moderator's friend raised a glass and shouted, "You done yet? Get back over here and keep drinking! We've already finished a round, you know. You little punk, you're not using this as an excuse to dodge drinks, are you?"
"Me? Dodge drinks? Are you kidding me?! Just watch, today I'm gonna drink every last one of you clowns under the table!" The Chief Moderator shoved his phone back into his pocket, turned, and returned to the table, grabbing a beer and chugging it straight from the bottle.
He didn't foolishly wait for Zhao Yuan's reply. In his view, even if the other party was very satisfied with the invitation and the terms, they would still take a few days to consider it before responding. Besides, he had included his phone number and other contact information at the end of the message. If Little Ghost made a decision, he would definitely call.
'How stupid would it be to just sit here waiting for a PM?'
"ACHOO!" In another city, Yan Yang, who was glued to his computer, suddenly sneezed.
Rubbing his nose, he muttered, "Weird, why did I just sneeze out of nowhere? With my constitution, I haven't even had a cold in years."
His attention then returned to the computer. 'Why hasn't Little Ghost replied to my PM yet? Should I send another one?'
Just as he was thinking this, a banner suddenly scrolled across the top of the forum. A line of text was written on it: "Congratulations to 'Little Ghost' for receiving this forum's most esteemed Daluo Golden Immortal title! We hope Little Ghost has a wonderful time on the forum and will make even greater contributions to the development of both the forum and the Cultivation Realm!"
"Holy crap!"
Yan Yang leaped out of his computer chair in shock, violently bumping into Yan Changming, who had been leaning in to get a closer look at the banner's text. Luckily, he was also a Cultivator and could take the hit. Otherwise, even if he hadn't been sent flying into the wall, he would have been knocked to the ground, unable to get up for a good while.
Although he withstood the impact, Yan Changming was not pleased. He frowned and demanded, "What are you so worked up about?"
Yan Yang was completely oblivious to the angry look on his father's face. Pointing at the computer screen, he babbled excitedly, "Dad, did you see what the banner said? Little Ghost got the Daluo Golden Immortal title? I'm not seeing things, am I?"
"Is this Daluo Golden Immortal title a big deal?" Yan Changming asked curiously.
Although he also used the Cultivator Forum, he rarely engaged in idle chit-chat. He usually just paid to read books in the Library Pavilion or browsed the Rakshasa Ghost Market to buy and sell a few things. He didn't pay much attention to the rules or chat with people, so while he had heard of the Daluo Golden Immortal title, he didn't know just how precious it was.
Yan Yang nodded, speaking in a rapid-fire burst. "A big deal? It's a huge deal! Let me put it this way: on the entire Cultivator Forum right now, including Little Ghost, only five people have ever received the Daluo Golden Immortal title! Among the other four are Elder Long, hailed as the 'Pill Immortal', and 'Sword Frenzy' Bai Lingyu, who defeated the entire European Knights Templar—all their Holy Knights and Saint Cultivators—with just a single sword..."
After hearing Yan Yang's explanation, Yan Changming instantly understood the value of the Daluo Golden Immortal title.
Elder Dan Xianlong was universally acknowledged as the number one Pill Cultivator in the current Cultivation Realm!
And Sword Frenzy Bai Lingyu had defeated numerous organizations and Sects both at home and abroad with just him and his sword. Of course, his outrageous conduct had also provoked the dissatisfaction of many Sects and organizations. But because he was so incredibly powerful, they could only swallow their anger and endure it!
'And now, Little Ghost has also received the Daluo Golden Immortal title. Doesn't that mean he can be mentioned in the same breath as these seniors and titans of the Cultivation Realm?'
Yan Changming mulled it over and came to a conclusion: 'Yes, he absolutely could be!'
'Little Ghost might not be skilled in actual combat, but in terms of theory, he was definitely first-rate, or even beyond!'
In the time since, Yan Changming had already gone through several of the threads Little Ghost had answered. He wasn't very clear on the knowledge of other schools, but when it came to fields like Talismans and Spells, he could definitely tell the good from the bad! He could say with absolute certainty that Zhao Yuan's attainments in these areas were far superior to his own. In fact, no one in the current Yan Family could even compare!
'To be so formidable in areas like Talismans and Curse Techniques, his other skills surely couldn't be too shabby either!'
'It's not surprising at all that a prodigy like this could be compared to the likes of the Pill Immortal and Sword Frenzy!'
After a moment of contemplation, Yan Changming instructed, "Yang'Er, you must get in contact with Little Ghost and establish a good relationship with him. A prodigy like this is someone we can only befriend, never make an enemy of!"
Yan Yang thought it over and felt his father was right.
This Little Ghost could casually dispense knowledge comparable to a True Inheritance Secret Technique. If they pissed him off, he wouldn't even need to lift a finger himself. He could just post a bounty, offer a True Inheritance Secret Technique as the reward, and countless Cultivators would be willing to risk their lives for him!
"Don't worry, Dad. I'll definitely suck up to Little Ghost and treat him like my own ancestor," Yan Yang said, half-joking and half-serious.
Meanwhile, the other users hanging out on the Cultivator Forum also saw the banner announcement.
The normally bustling "Jianghu Gossip" section fell silent in an instant.
After a long moment, someone finally posted a thread asking, "Is my computer broken, or am I seeing things? Why did I just see a banner scroll by saying Little Ghost was awarded the Daluo Golden Immortal title?"
The moment this thread appeared, it immediately attracted a flood of replies and discussion.
"Your computer isn't broken, and your eyes aren't playing tricks on you, because I saw it too!"
"Holy crap, you all saw it? So it wasn't a hallucination?"
"What's going on here? Why would a shitposting spammer be given the Daluo Golden Immortal title? Where's the moderator? Get out here and give us a reasonable explanation!"
"Did the forum get hacked?"
"It must have been hacked! Where are the moderators? The admins? Hurry up and contact the tech guys to patch the vulnerability!"
People were in an uproar, refusing to believe that Little Ghost was qualified to receive the Daluo Golden Immortal title. They were all convinced the website was malfunctioning.
Seeing this, Yan Yang had no choice but to start a dedicated thread to clarify the matter: "The website is not malfunctioning, and the forum has not been hacked! Also, congratulations to Little Ghost on receiving the Daluo Golden Immortal title!"
The moment this thread was posted, the discussions on the forum became even more heated.
