Divine War Pill Emperor
Chapter 677: A Well-Intentioned Reminder
Although Jiang Chen’s Cultivation was no match for Wen Xiaotian’s, he had an endless arsenal of techniques, and each attack was devastatingly powerful.
A single coffin blow had left Wen Xiaotian grievously wounded.
Jiang Chen wasn’t about to give Wen Xiaotian another chance.
A ball of Black Fire had already appeared silently in his hand.
“Go!”
He pointed toward Wen Xiaotian, and the Black Fire immediately shot forward, streaking silently toward its target.
Wen Xiaotian was still reeling from the coffin’s impact, coughing up blood and seeing stars.
Fortunately, his powerful Cultivation allowed him to quickly stabilize himself.
He was already growing wary of Jiang Chen.
‘Damn it, how is this kid so strange?’
‘His Magical Treasures are all so powerful.’
‘If I kill him, his treasures will be mine.’
Wen Xiaotian roared, his eyes turning bloodshot with fury.
It was a great humiliation to be wounded by someone with a lower Cultivation.
Below, the crowd was in an uproar, crying out in shock.
Just as Wen Xiaotian prepared to attack again, he suddenly felt a scorching heat on his body.
He glanced down and saw a ball of Black Fire burning on his person.
He hadn’t even noticed the Black Fire’s presence before.
He mistook it for a stray flame from the fight and, unconcerned, went to slap it out.
FWOOSH!
He thought he could extinguish the Black Fire with a single slap.
But the next moment, as his hand connected, the Black Fire seemed to have been agitated. It erupted, rapidly engulfing his body in flames.
“Bastard! Who set this fire?”
Wen Xiaotian roared in fury.
He tried to extinguish the Black Fire, but it only burned more fiercely.
He even began to feel a real, stinging pain on his body.
The Black Fire wasn’t just burning on the outside of his body; in an instant, it had actually burned its way inside him.
The external flames were one thing, but when the Black Fire burned its way into his body, his expression changed dramatically.
‘This is no ordinary flame.’
‘This is bad.’
He cried out in alarm.
He hastily mobilized his Cultivation Power, trying to force the Black Fire from his body.
But the Black Fire was incredibly tenacious. If he couldn’t force it out, he would surely be burned to death.
As the Black Fire continued to burn, he was forced to give it his full attention.
He mobilized all his Cultivation Power to extinguish the Black Fire.
Just then, Jiang Chen, wielding the Radiant Sun Sword, once again coalesced a thirty-meter-long beam of Heaven-Shocking Sword Intent.
He slashed down viciously at Wen Xiaotian.
It was the very definition of striking a fatal blow against a weakened foe.
Jiang Chen gave Wen Xiaotian no chance to recover.
After all, Wen Xiaotian was far weaker than Elder You, whom Jiang Chen had killed the day before.
By going all out and using his various techniques, Jiang Chen had finally pushed Wen Xiaotian to the brink.
THUMP!
With a sickening thud, Jiang Chen’s Sword Intent struck Wen Xiaotian as he struggled with the Black Fire. Caught completely defenseless, he was sliced in two.
Wen Xiaotian was dead!
BOOM!
After a brief, stunned silence, the crowd erupted in a wave of gasps and disbelieving screams.
Many people scrambled back in terror.
They were truly horrified by the events of the day.
Jiang Chen had killed the Zuo Family’s genius, Zuo Siming, and their elder, Wen Xiaotian, one after the other.
To say it was completely beyond everyone’s expectations was an understatement.
No one had believed Jiang Chen would survive, but in the end, he was the one left standing.
It was an upset—a complete and utter upset.
It wasn’t just the crowd that was stunned; Elder Qiu and Elder Han were utterly speechless.
This was the most unbelievable outcome to a battle they had ever witnessed.
Jiang Chen was a full three Realms lower than Wen Xiaotian, yet he had still managed to kill him.
‘This boy… he’s an absolute monster.’
‘He could probably rank among the very best in the entire Divine Wind Empire.’
Elder Han wiped a bead of cold sweat from his brow.
They hadn’t dared to help Jiang Chen, yet he had resolved the crisis on his own.
Han Yinghua also breathed a sigh of relief.
Only the members of the Zuo Family stood ashen-faced, as if struck by lightning.
They had witnessed one soul-shattering event after another, with both Zuo Siming and Elder Wen Xiaotian being killed in succession.
And both had been slain by Jiang Chen alone.
“Ahhh…”
“You’re a dead man…”
“The Zuo Family will not let you get away with this!”
Seeing this, the members of the Zuo Family scrambled to flee, desperate to report back to the family.
The crowd stared at Jiang Chen in astonishment.
Although they were shocked by Jiang Chen’s incredible Combat Power, someone suddenly called out a warning, “Kid, you should run!”
“You killed the Zuo Family’s genius, Zuo Siming, and their elder, Wen Xiaotian. The Zuo Family won’t let you go!”
“Go now! Don’t linger here.”
They knew better than anyone the Zuo Family’s power in Xingyuan City.
Jiang Chen was formidable, but how could one man possibly compare to the entire Zuo Family?
Their warnings were well-intentioned.
Elder Han finally released the seal he had placed on Han Yinghua. “Things have reached this point,” he told her. “You shouldn’t get involved any further.”
“I fear Jiang Chen will have a hard time surviving this.”
Han Yinghua looked at Jiang Chen.
She shouted, “Jiang Chen, run!”
“Leave Xingyuan City! Leave the Tang Kingdom!”
“The Zuo Family will be here any minute!”
But Jiang Chen made no move to leave, standing calmly on the stage.
He knew they were all warning him out of goodwill.
He said to Han Yinghua, “Thank you for the warning.”
“But I have no need to flee in disgrace.”
“There is a right and wrong to this. Zuo Siming broke the rules first; he deserved to die.”
Jiang Chen had no regrets about killing Zuo Siming.
He knew full well that after killing Zuo Siming, the Zuo Family would surely come for him.
However, with his business here concluded, Jiang Chen had no desire to linger.
He turned, stepped down from the stage, and started walking toward the edge of the crowd.
As he left the stage, a young man in a straw hat adjusted it on his head.
He then fell in step behind Jiang Chen.
The crowd automatically parted, creating a path for Jiang Chen.
People still kept shouting warnings.
“Get out of here! Run as far as you can!”
“Kid, listen to us! Don’t waste any more time. Go, before the Zuo Family arrives!”
Jiang Chen paid them no mind, walking out of the Artifact Refiner Guild with Xiaotian and heading straight for Chenxi Pavilion.
Once outside the Artifact Refiner Guild, Xiaotian took off his straw hat.
“Master, I was waiting for the Zuo Family to arrive. It’s a pity they’re so inefficient.”
Xiaotian was extremely eager for a fight.
He hadn’t intervened earlier because he knew Jiang Chen was perfectly capable of handling the problem himself.
“They’ll follow us back to Chenxi Pavilion.”
“We have a tough fight ahead of us.”
Jiang Chen had already predicted all of this.
The Zuo Family would inevitably attack them at Chenxi Pavilion.
Xiaotian licked his lips.
“I like the sound of that.”
“Let them all come and die.”
Not long after Jiang Chen had left, a group of people stormed into the Artifact Refiner Guild.
The moment the crowd saw the newcomers, they gasped in alarm.
“It’s the Zuo Family Patriarch, Zuo Dongxing!”
“Gods, it’s the President of the Artifact Refiner Guild, Zuo Dongxing! It’s really him!”
“He’s here! He must have come to avenge his son.”
Suddenly, someone pointed at the stunningly beautiful woman beside Zuo Dongxing and exclaimed.
“Look, isn’t that Ao Xue?”
“It really is her! Ao Xue came herself! She’s an even more talented Artifact Refiner than Zuo Siming and has already reached the Level of a Two-Star Lower-Grade Refiner.”
“And don’t forget, Ao Xue was Zuo Siming’s fiancée!”
