Chapter 708: Who Did It?

The abrupt appearance of a man in black put Jiang Chen on instant alert.

He couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off about Tang Yuan leading them into Cannibal Valley.

Tian Ci, Hai Xunyi, and Ao Xi, who were searching for the Angel throughout the forest, all saw the signal. From their different locations, they simultaneously rushed toward Tang Yuan’s position.

As for Jiang Chen, he saw where the signal had been fired from.

He frowned slightly.

‘Isn’t that where the man in black was just a moment ago?’

Jiang Chen noted that the signal had come from a spot not far from where he’d seen the man in black.

‘Could someone in our group have brought those men in black here?’

None of them had brought any attendants when they entered.

It was obvious now that someone in their party had indeed brought reinforcements.

Before long, three figures appeared one after another beside Tang Yuan.

They saw Tang Yuan collapsed on the ground, his arm severed.

Their expressions changed drastically.

Hai Xunyi rushed to Tang Yuan’s side and demanded, “Tang Yuan, what happened?”

Tang Yuan pointed toward a part of the forest, his voice filled with terror. “Someone tried to kill me.”

Everyone looked in the direction he was pointing, but there was nothing there.

But it was clear that Tang Yuan was injured—and that someone had cut off his arm.

This was a serious matter.

After all, they were all from the Five Nations Alliance. Even though they were rivals, and might even wish death upon each other, none of them would be willing to commit murder in front of the others.

Hai Xunyi glanced around, then frowned. “Why isn’t Jiang Chen here?”

Ao Xi and Tian Ci also frowned deeply.

Suddenly, Ao Xi said, “I’ll go check over there.”

With that, she moved with light steps, slowly walking toward the part of the forest Tang Yuan had indicated.

Just then, a flash of sword light swept out from the trees.

Its power was terrifying.

After dodging the sword flash, she launched a fierce counterattack.

But after that single slash, the man in black immediately fled deeper into the forest.

Tian Ci followed right after, but he too was unable to find the man in black.

She looked at Tian Ci, who remained silent.

In the end, the two of them returned to Tang Yuan’s side.

Tang Yuan had already swallowed a Healing Elixir.

When Hai Xunyi saw Ao Xi and Tian Ci return, he sneered. “It’s obvious now. The attacker must have been Jiang Chen.”

Tang Yuan said wretchedly, “I don’t know who it was, but a flash of sword light came out of nowhere and sliced off my arm.”

“So I immediately cried for help, and they fled.”

When he looked over, he saw Tang Yuan lying on the ground. His severed arm lay nearby, and there was a large amount of blood on the scene.

Jiang Chen understood at once. Tang Yuan had been attacked.

But it clearly had nothing to do with him.

Jiang Chen’s brows furrowed even more deeply.

He had just spotted men in black in this area.

And now Tang Yuan was injured.

‘It must have been the men in black,’ he thought.

‘So, who brought them here?’

‘Since Tang Yuan was the one attacked, I can rule him out as a suspect.’

‘That leaves Hai Xunyi, Ao Xi, and Tian Ci as the main suspects.’

Hai Xunyi sneered repeatedly. “Go on, keep pretending. Let’s see how long you can keep up the act.”
