Chapter 679: Chapter 671: Wanting to Buy a Stake

"Sob... sob..." What Leo Joyce said only made Shirley Lockwood feel more upset. She knew her dad was very good to her and that no one would ever treat her as well as he did. It was just... the mother from her memories and dreams was wonderful, too. She truly couldn’t forget. She didn’t believe her mother could have really brought herself to leave her. She wanted to find her mother and demand to know why she had been abandoned.

Archie Lockwood’s face was grim, his brows furrowed as he watched Rory.

’Maybe it really is time I considered finding a mother for Rory.’

After a while, once he saw that Rory’s loud wails had subsided into soft sobs, Archie Lockwood went over and pulled her from Leo Joyce’s arms. He sighed in resignation as he wiped her tears away. "Rory, Daddy was wrong today. I shouldn’t have yelled at you. So please, stop crying, okay?"

"Daddy, I’m sorry." Shirley Lockwood turned and threw herself into Archie Lockwood’s arms, clinging tightly to his neck.

Watching the father and daughter make up so quickly, Leo Joyce could only give a wry smile.

He stood up, shoved his hands in his pockets, and turned to walk toward the main entrance.

Once he was outside Siren’s Night, he gazed at the familiar street, a complex look in his eyes. The smile on his lips turned even more bitter.

While he was lost in his thoughts, Archie Lockwood came out the main door, leading Rory by the hand.

Archie Lockwood clapped Leo Joyce on the shoulder and asked coolly, "So, how are things going with you and Tiana?"

"I haven’t seen her since I came back."

"And here I thought you’d already won her over." ’How else could he have been so quick? I hadn’t even come back yet, and Leo Joyce and Tiana Grayson had already returned.’

"Heh. If I’d actually won her over, you wouldn’t be seeing me here. You’d be getting an invitation to my wedding."

Archie Lockwood smirked. "Pathetic. Can’t even win over one woman."

"Tiana isn’t like other women. Don’t you dare judge her by the same standards you use for everyone else." Leo Joyce’s face darkened as he shot a displeased glare at Archie Lockwood.

"Alright, alright. Your Tiana is the best, fine."

"She is." ’No one could ever compare to my little princess. And I won’t let anyone say a single bad thing about her.’

"So? You need my help?"

"Help? How could you help?" ’Even he didn’t know how to approach Tiana, what excuse he could possibly use. How could Archie Lockwood have a solution?’

Archie Lockwood smirked, a mysterious and cunning glint in his eyes. "Of course, my help doesn’t come for free. As the saying goes, you have to keep clear accounts, even with family—let alone between a potential son-in-law and father-in-law."

Leo Joyce’s handsome face darkened instantly. "Fuck! Archie Lockwood, what the hell are you getting at?"

"I hear you recently acquired a plot of land in Jevon."

"What about it? You want to invest?"

"Wrong. I don’t want to invest. I had my eye on that piece of land, too."

"Fuck! Archie Lockwood, just spit it out. What’s this plan you have to help me win over Tiana?" ’The project on that land was about to kick off, and he’d already sunk over a billion into the initial start-up costs.’

"I have my methods. As for what they are, I can’t tell you just yet."

"Archie Lockwood, you’d better not be messing with me!" ’If he couldn’t even think of a way to win Tiana over, how could Archie Lockwood possibly have a plan? He was deeply skeptical, but he couldn’t bring himself to pass up even the slightest chance.’

Archie Lockwood stroked his chin, looking at Leo Joyce with mock seriousness. "Of course, you always have the option to refuse."
