Chapter 263: The Scent of Loving You

Chapter 263: Chapter 263: The Scent of Loving You

The crying stopped.

"Qingmeng, why are you crying?" Jiang Liu asked softly.

There was a hint of worry in his voice.

Jun Qingmeng poked her head out, her voice a little muffled as she said, "It’s nothing. I just had a horrible nightmare."

"Jiang Liu, did I wake you?"

*Sniffle*

She rubbed her red, swollen eyes as if she had done something wrong.

"Not at all."

Jiang Liu patted her arm and asked caringly, "What was the nightmare about? Do you want to tell me?"

Jun Qingmeng hesitated, looking a little embarrassed.

"It’s nothing, really. I just dreamed that... that we broke up."

"And then?"

"And then... I went to your shop to find you. I wanted to get back together. You took my hand, and I was so happy, but then you said you would walk with me one last time... to the edge of the neighborhood and back, and after that, we’d go our separate ways for good."

"WAAAH... And then, when the walk was over, I watched you turn and leave without a second thought. It hurt so, so much."

As she spoke, tears streamed down her cheeks again, betraying her.

Jiang Liu didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He reached out and wiped the warm teardrops from her face.

"Don’t cry. It’s okay, it was just a dream. And dreams are the opposite of reality."

"Really?"

Jun Qingmeng stared at Jiang Liu, seeking confirmation.

"Mhm, absolutely."

Jiang Liu fibbed with complete conviction.

Only then did Jun Qingmeng let out a final couple of sobs and stop crying.

She snuggled closer into Jiang Liu’s arms and said pitifully,

"Can you hold me while I sleep, then? If I can smell your scent, I won’t have any more nightmares."

"Okay, sure."

Jiang Liu gave a resigned smile.

’His girlfriend was just like a little kid.’

’Just like Tongtong.’

’But he quite liked it.’

Jun Qingmeng lay in Jiang Liu’s arms and said softly, "I’m so scared that this is our last time together. I think I have nightmares because I want to be with you so much."

"Tomorrow I’ll have to sleep alone again. I don’t want to leave you."

Jiang Liu took in the fragrance of Jun Qingmeng’s hair.

He mulled it over for a moment before saying, "If you don’t mind, you can come over and sleep here whenever you want. We’ll stick to the old rules."

Jun Qingmeng looked up at Jiang Liu, her face full of pleasant surprise.

"You better not be lying! In that case, I want to sleep with you again tomorrow."

"I’m not lying."

Jiang Liu felt the softness against his chest and touched his own cheek.

’Seeing his girlfriend scared from a nightmare really brought out his protective side.’

’And this woman was supposed to be a CEO?’

Jiang Liu couldn’t help but chuckle to himself.

’What an adorable CEO!’

"I’m so happy, Jiang Liu." Jun Qingmeng wiped a bit of snot on his pajamas.

She was still a little runny-nosed from crying.

"Jiang Liu, it’s really uncomfortable holding you like this, and I’m worried I’ll squish Tongtong. Can I sleep on your other side? Please? I’m so scared to be alone."

Jun Qingmeng put on a pitiful expression.

She looked like a poor, abandoned child.

Jiang Liu hesitated for a few seconds. "Alright, fine. But we just hug, and no funny business."

’His daughter was still sleeping right there, after all.’

’Couldn’t be a bad influence on the little one.’

"Okay! I won’t move."

Jun Qingmeng smoothed out her nightgown, gently pulled Tongtong a little closer to her side, and then carefully slipped under the covers next to Jiang Liu.

She rested her head comfortably on Jiang Liu’s shoulder, wrapped her arms around his chest, and draped her long, slender legs restlessly over his.

"It feels so good to hug my boyfriend!" Jun Qingmeng nuzzled her head forcefully against Jiang Liu, acting cute.

"Are you comfortable with me holding you?"

"Mhm, it’s very comfortable."

To Jiang Liu, she smelled wonderful and felt so soft.

It was the first time he’d ever felt his blood boil with passion like this.

"Mwah! Now, be good and go to sleep!"

Jun Qingmeng’s sense of security was now completely off the charts.

She hugged Jiang Liu, utterly content.

’It was like she was holding happiness itself.’

’Locked on.’

’No escaping!’

Before they knew it, the two of them drifted off to sleep.

Around five o’clock, sparrows chirped outside the window as they foraged for food.

Jun Qingmeng was lying in Jiang Liu’s arms, with half of her head peeking out.

Tongtong, on Jiang Liu’s other side, was pressed against him with her butt sticking out, her hands wrapped around his arm.

The alarm clock rang.

All three of them woke up at the same time.

The human body pillow, Jiang Liu, opened his eyes.

To his right, he felt something soft. To his left, his arm was being hugged by a small bundle.

Tongtong and Jun Qingmeng both started laughing.

"Momma, how’d you get on the other side? Is it comfy hugging Daddy?"

"Mhm, it’s very comfy."

Jun Qingmeng glanced at Jiang Liu and raised a hand to tidy her messy hair.

’I didn’t move around too much last night, did I...?’

She usually tossed and turned in her sleep, but last night she had slept surprisingly soundly.

Jiang Liu booped Tongtong’s nose. "Laughing, are we? Still laughing? Are you two trying to crush me unconscious?"

"You can’t blame Tongtong! The Tongtong who was asleep and the Tongtong who’s awake now aren’t the same Tongtong. The Tongtong Daddy is looking for is the Tongtong in the dream, not the Tongtong who’s awake."

"If Daddy’s not happy, you’ll have to go find the Tongtong who was squishing you in your dreams, hehe."

After hearing this, a smile touched the corners of Jiang Liu’s lips. "Alright then. The next time Tongtong’s asleep, I’ll just have to spank her butt really hard."

Tongtong shook her head forcefully. "You can’t do that."

"I can’t? Why not? It has nothing to do with you. You’re the awake Tongtong. I’m going to spank the sleeping Tongtong."

"WAAAH, Daddy, please let me off the hook! Tongtong knows she was wrong!"

Jiang Tongtong hugged Jiang Liu’s arm, begging for mercy.

Exasperated, Jiang Liu ruffled her hair with a bit of force.

Jun Qingmeng sat up and stretched, revealing her wonderful curves. She then clung to Jiang Liu’s other arm, snuggling up against him.

"Jiang Liu, I just realized I really love your scent."

Jiang Liu looked down with a smile. "What do I smell like?"

Jun Qingmeng thought for a moment. "Hmm... It’s just a scent I really, really like. Smelling it makes me feel so content."

"That must be the smell of me loving you."

Caught completely off guard by his flirting, Jun Qingmeng’s face flushed slightly.

"Is that so? No wonder it smells so good..."

The three of them lazed in bed for a few more minutes before getting up to wash.

Since Jun Qingmeng was still in her nightgown, she had to go home first.

They agreed to meet up again in five minutes.

Jun Qingmeng trotted back to her own apartment, changed her clothes, and went into the bathroom, looking at her still-flushed cheeks in the mirror.

’What am I going to do? My love-addled brain is getting worse and worse.’

Jun Qingmeng made a serious discovery.

’She felt miserable if she didn’t see Jiang Liu for even a little while...’

The three of them finished getting ready.

They went down the elevator together.

Jiang Liu was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and loose black pants.

Tongtong was in a cute pair of children’s jeans, a tank top, and a white jacket.

Since she was going to help Jiang Liu with work, Jun Qingmeng had dressed simply: jeans and sneakers on the bottom, a white short-sleeved shirt with a little orange on it on top, and a jacket stuffed in her cloth tote bag.

When they got to the garage, the chilly morning wind made Tongtong shiver.

"Daddy, it’s been so cold these past two days."

"It is a little."

The three of them got into the car together.

The cool air woke Jiang Liu up quite a bit.

But as for Jiang Tongtong and Jun Qingmeng, they got in the car and immediately fell back asleep.

’It was just so reassuring to have Jiang Liu around!’

They drove out of the garage.

It wasn’t raining.

The road was still wet, washed to a dark gray by the rain.

They made a trip to the wet market.

Jiang Liu then drove back to Yangzhai Street.

By this time, most of the shops on the street were already open, and several hundred customers were already waiting eagerly in front of Second Best Eats.
