Chapter 484: Chapter 278: Carrying Jiang Ming and a Black Trait Drop

"This time, your supervising mentor will be the head of our Cardiovascular Surgery Center’s third ward, Director Ren Anyi."

"Director Ren is also the mentor of Hu Zhipeng, the runner-up in the competition. I’ll call him over in a moment so you two can get acquainted."

Scholar Jiang had originally wanted to entrust Wu Ting to He Guangzong, but that fellow was arrogant and stubborn.

Before Wu Ting arrived, Scholar Jiang had asked He Guangzong about his stance once more.

But who would have thought, that stubborn mule still wouldn’t budge, even using the excuse that he’d found another exceptional young person.

He Guangzong had originally said that Wu Ting could join his first ward after the training program, but now he’d just flat-out refused, claiming he’d already found another young talent he admired.

Scholar Jiang asked him who this young person was and which institution they were from.

He Guangzong just mumbled evasively and wouldn’t give a straight answer.

At this, Scholar Jiang finally got angry. Such a lame excuse for a refusal was simply intolerable.

’Fine! He wouldn’t need him to train Wu Ting at all. Not for the training program, and not for his future fellowship in the first ward either.’

Scholar Jiang decided to hand Wu Ting’s training over entirely to Ren Anyi.

Although Ren Anyi couldn’t match He Guangzong in terms of clinical skills or overall ability, he was at least even-tempered and utterly dedicated to mentoring his juniors.

Soon after Scholar Jiang made the call, Ren Anyi arrived at his office.

Upon seeing Wu Ting, Ren Anyi greeted him warmly.

Ren Anyi had followed the entire national competition and had been thoroughly impressed by Wu Ting’s performance. He had great admiration for a young man like him.

"Director Wu, welcome to the third ward. From now on, I will be mentoring you personally. You and Hu Zhipeng can also learn a lot from each other."

When Scholar Jiang clarified that Wu Ting would be staying in the third ward for his fellowship after the training program, Director Ren was absolutely thrilled.

Director Ren hadn’t even dared to dream of getting Wu Ting under his wing. After all, in the Cardiovascular Surgery Center, He Guangzong was the undisputed top dog.

He Guangzong always got first pick of all the elite doctors who came to the center; only those he passed over were assigned to the other wards.

Everyone acknowledged He Guangzong’s clinical skills without reservation. It was considered a given that he would mentor the most brilliant juniors, so Director Ren couldn’t compete, nor did he dare to.

He never imagined that of all the young doctors who had come through over the years, the most outstanding of them all, Wu Ting, would end up in his ward.

Ren Anyi thought for a moment. To settle the matter once and for all, he sent a direct message to He Guangzong, laying it out: if He Guangzong wanted to take Wu Ting now, he’d still belong to the first ward. But if he explicitly refused him now, then Wu Ting would belong to the third ward from here on out, and he shouldn’t live to regret it!

He Guangzong’s reply to Ren Anyi’s text was cold and succinct.

"Not taking him. Won’t regret it."

Ren Anyi immediately screenshotted the chat log and saved it.

"Director Wu, when you come in tomorrow morning, I’ll have Hu Zhipeng give you a tour of the Cardiovascular Surgery Center to get you acquainted. You can ask him if you have any questions, but if there’s anything else you’re unsure about, feel free to come directly to me."

"Once you’re settled into the ward, there will be an opening ceremony for the training program at ten a.m. After the morning’s events, you’ll begin your clinical practice in the afternoon. I’ll come find you then to personally supervise you."

In front of Scholar Jiang, Ren Anyi made his high regard and commitment to Wu Ting clear.

Scholar Jiang was very pleased with Ren Anyi’s attitude.

"Alright, that’s all for now. Director Ren, you can go ahead. I still have a few things to go over with Wu Ting."

After Ren Anyi left, Scholar Jiang again spoke to Wu Ting with great earnestness.

"Wu Ting, your conceptual summary and classification analysis of Hybrid Technology during the national competition was, in my opinion, excellent. I want you to write it up as a formal paper as soon as possible. I will personally contact the *Journal of the American College of Cardiology* (JACC) for you."

The *Journal of the American College of Cardiology* (JACC) is the most widely read cardiovascular journal in the world and is highly prestigious internationally.

JACC has always been considered a key benefit for members of the Southern Country Heart Disease Society, and it remains one of the cardiovascular journals with the highest impact factors.

Hearing Scholar Jiang’s high expectations for his paper, Wu Ting was, of course, overjoyed.

"Of course. I’ll begin writing the paper as soon as I get back."

Scholar Jiang continued,

"Wu Ting, this paper is critically important for the development of our Hybrid Technology. I also hope that after the international competition, you’ll come to our hospital for a fellowship. By integrating with the Hybrid Technology research group and conducting joint research, you can continuously improve and refine these concepts, ultimately establishing a comprehensive, systematic set of clinical practice guidelines and an expert consensus."

"Once you have truly achieved this, I will personally make the arrangements to have this work on Hybrid Technology compiled into a monograph. When that time comes, I will write the foreword for you myself. We will take this publication to the annual meeting of the World Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and promote it worldwide!"

As an expert of the older generation, Scholar Jiang was nearing retirement. Before he did, he wanted to pour all his effort into mentoring Wu Ting, hoping that someday, Wu Ting would inherit the mantle of his predecessors, innovate, and rise to the pinnacle of international cardiovascular surgery—reaching heights that his own generation never could.

Of course, some of Scholar Jiang’s encouragement was a classic case of dangling a carrot—painting a grand vision to ignite Wu Ting’s ambition. After all, it was destined to be a long and arduous journey.

Wu Ting was still young; he would need a great deal of time to practice and grow.
