Chapter 2829: Chapter 19: The First Night Alone Begins
"Look at you, you’re actually thinking of keeping these bed sheets now... You... You haven’t even thought about why the Young Master wants Auntie to throw them away. Keeping them is like keeping evidence of your sins, don’t be so obsessed!"
Although she despises herself, Harrison’s actions contradict her own thoughts.
She carefully opens the sheets that witnessed her "first" time with the Young Master and spreads them on her own bed.
...
Harrison, after spreading the sheets, can’t help but change into pajamas and roll around the bed several times.
Her neat black short hair becomes a mess because of her carefree actions.
The soft black hair, usually sharp and aloof, now seems quite adorable.
While rolling on the bed, Harrison feels as though the Young Master’s scent fills the air, when suddenly there’s a sound from downstairs.
What’s going on? Could it be the Young Master has returned?
No way, the Young Master already asked Auntie to leave, and at this hour, he shouldn’t be back. He should be staying at the military headquarters tonight, not returning.
Feeling guilty as a thief, Harrison immediately sits up and listens intently.
Yet there’s no sound from downstairs, as if everything she just heard was an illusion.
Harrison frowns slightly; her hearing has always been good, and that sound was definitely not her imagination.
She becomes alert, gets out of bed, throws on an overcoat, and cautiously makes her way downstairs.
As Harrison tiptoes down the stairs, she sees a tall, slender figure sitting on the living room sofa with his back to her.
"Major General, why did you come back at this time? If I’d known beforehand, I wouldn’t have let Auntie leave."
Harrison completely forgets that she’s wearing a pajama set as she walks around the sofa to Ben Lucas.
If the Young Master is hungry, then she should heat up a late-night meal for him.
But just as she circled around the sofa, Harrison is startled by the items on the tea table and steps back.
She opens her mouth wide, looking with shock at the calm, still-cool man: "Ma-Major General... These... These things..."
The tea table is filled with all kinds of wine bottles.
There’s beer, fruit wine, sake, red wine, white wine, whiskey, vodka, plus various traditional spirits and some strange ones Harrison has never seen.
One of the bottles is even knocked over, clearly the source of the sound Harrison heard before.
Ben Lucas seems irritated by Harrison’s fuss, his sharp eyebrows furrowing in mild annoyance.
He raises an eyebrow, looking at Harrison with a chilling gaze: "Didn’t you take a holiday?"
He had given everyone in the small building a holiday, thinking Harrison would be absent too, but didn’t expect her to stay.
"Reporting, Major General, I’m your adjutant, responsible for attending to your daily needs. Everyone else took a holiday, but I... I can’t possibly take one." Harrison’s fair face blushes momentarily, facing the Young Master’s deep and unreadable gaze, causing her to feel inexplicably guilty.
"Fine. If it’s you, even if I fall ill, I’m not worried about being seen." Ben Lucas regards her deeply, speaking in a low voice.
Harrison is baffled: "Ill, what illness? Major General, are you sick or feeling unwell somewhere?"
"I’m not sick..." Ben Lucas lowers his eyebrows slightly, raising his chin to point at the bottles on the table: "But after drinking these, who knows if I might fall ill."
"What? Drink these things!" Harrison turns, looking in horror at the table full of liquor.
Her fine face contorts uncontrollably: "Major General, you’re going to drink these things... Are you sure?"
