Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 105 - 104: Credit That’s Off the Charts
"Alright, alright. Look at how greedy you are. If I get the chance in the future, I’ll find you another one of this grade, okay?" Chu Liangyu said with a helpless expression. She had no choice but to dangle a carrot to appease her. "Besides, you’ll be able to take care of it too once we’re done with our work."
"The energy we of the Wood Spirit Clan use is a bit special. Any medicinal herb infused with our energy is as if it’s been marked by that person. The feedback energy from healing the herb will only go to the person who infused it."
Xiong Jiaojiao calmed down and patiently explained, then her face lit up with joy. "But just having Sister Liangyu’s word is enough for me."
After all, her Sister Liangyu always kept her word. The last time she just casually mentioned a vestment robe, and she went and got one for her.
She was wearing it now, and it was so warm she couldn’t feel the cold at all. That’s why she believed Chu Liangyu’s words even more, even if they were said casually.
All in all, Chu Liangyu’s credibility with her was off the charts!
"Sister Jiaojiao, we’re done."
As the woman spoke, the sound of splashing water came from inside the room. They must have finished their Body Refining and climbed out of the wooden barrels.
But Chu Liangyu noticed something strange. "We’ve been talking for a while, but I haven’t heard them scream. Don’t they feel any pain?"
She remembered Xiong Jiaojiao’s first time doing Body Refining. Her bloodcurdling screams had echoed through the entire forest. Anyone who didn’t know better would have thought some horrific, heaven-and-earth-shaking tragedy was taking place.
"Maybe they followed the steps properly and weren’t as hasty as I was, so it doesn’t seem as brutal." Xiong Jiaojiao looked a little embarrassed. ’Speaking of which, as their mentor, I really didn’t do as well as them.’
After answering Chu Liangyu’s question, Xiong Jiaojiao shouted to the people inside, "If you’re done, just get dressed. You don’t need to soak in anything else."
After a moment of rustling sounds as they got dressed, a few people walked out.
When they saw Chu Liangyu, their faces first showed shock, then a joy like they were seeing their idol. "Greetings, Chief!"
"We’re so lucky today, getting to be so close to the Chief."
"Yeah, yeah! Chief, when will you be able to personally guide us?"
Chu Liangyu smiled demurely and answered them truthfully, "I’d like to guide you personally too, but I’ve been a bit busy these past few days. I’ll come tomorrow once things are mostly taken care of."
"Really?"
Chu Liangyu nodded affirmatively. The women all froze for a second, and then their smiles stretched from ear to ear. "That’s wonderful!"
"Oh, right. It looks like you and Sister Jiaojiao still have things to talk about. We won’t disturb you any longer."
But Chu Liangyu waved her hand, indicating that they weren’t a disturbance. She then said to Xiong Jiaojiao, "Actually, we’ve just finished our conversation, and I have to go. Jiaojiao, you should go with them."
"I understand. See you later, Sister Liangyu." Xiong Jiaojiao waved back at her and led the small group back to the training grounds.
There, Chu Liangyu saw three small figures. They seemed to have been watching her for a long time. Not expecting her to spot them so precisely, they panicked for a moment, forgetting what they were doing with their hands and just staring blankly at her.
Perhaps her orders had taken effect. The animal skins the three of them wore were no longer so oversized, but fit them well and looked brand new.
Their previously sallow, gaunt little faces had also become fair and fleshy. It was clear at a glance that they had been doing well recently.
Chu Liangyu’s feelings were a little complicated. She had killed the Beast Father of these three little cubs, and for a moment, she didn’t know what to say.
But she couldn’t pretend not to have seen them. Chu Liangyu beckoned to them.
The three little ones understood in an instant and trotted quickly over to her.
It was clear they were looking forward to meeting her, but they were also a little reserved.
"How have you been these past few days?"
The three little ones glanced at each other, then nodded in unison, their meaning clear: they’d been fine.
Chu Liangyu opened her mouth, realizing she still didn’t know their names. So she asked, "Tell me your names, so I can tell you apart."
The three little ones were very well-behaved. After Chu Liangyu finished speaking, they stated their names in order.
"Ye Wang."
"Ye Chengze."
"Ye Moyan."
Chu Liangyu listened intently, secretly memorizing their names. Then she said, "I’ll be coming tomorrow to guide the others. I’ll also take the opportunity to see how your recent studies are coming along."
"Oh, and after the tournament, you can follow me and learn directly. If all goes as planned, your other brothers and sisters will be taught by me as well."
The eldest was very sharp. Catching the information in her words, he immediately asked, "Beast Mother just said ’other brothers and sisters.’ Does that mean you plan to teach more than just females?"
Although the three of them were male, from the very beginning, it had only been them.
They had guessed at the Beast Mother’s intentions—it was probably to help them build up their bodies and gain some ability to protect themselves.
And their physical fitness had indeed improved, but they hadn’t noticed anything else beyond that.
Chu Liangyu was a little surprised. She really hadn’t expected a boy this young to be so perceptive.
"You’re very smart. My plans are indeed just as you’ve guessed."
"We understand, Beast Mother. We’ll help them when the time comes."
Chu Liangyu felt that she hadn’t been able to give these cubs the companionship they needed, which was why she had come up with this plan.
While teaching them skills, she could also make up for the lack of companionship. It was killing two birds with one stone.
’Once they’ve completed their training, maybe they could even... That would be killing three birds with one stone.’
At this thought, the smile in Chu Liangyu’s eyes grew even more gentle. "Alright, for today, follow Sister Jiaojiao and learn from her. Beast Mother has other things to attend to."
"Okay, take care, Beast Mother."
"Goodbye, Beast Mother."
"Goodbye."
What Chu Liangyu didn’t know was that after she left, the three little ones could no longer maintain their calm expressions. They all broke into wide, toothy grins, their eyes sparkling with tiny flecks of light, filled with anticipation for the days they would get to see her.
Chu Liangyu looked up at the sky. It was about time for lunch, which meant it wasn’t a good time to go look for Cheng Miao and the others.
After a moment of thought, she decided to go back, have lunch, and then go find them.
On the way back, her mind was preoccupied with various matters, mostly about the future development of the tribe and how to deal with Jiang Li.
Before she knew it, she had reached her doorstep. Chu Liangyu reached out, just about to push the door open, when a gust of wind suddenly blew past her.
The next moment, a fiery red fox was in her arms.
"Hu Qiumu, have you no shame?! Hiding in the Female Master’s arms at a critical moment! I’m blushing for you!"
Chu Liangyu instinctively held the fox and turned around to see four people standing right behind her. The one who had just spoken was Jinling, who stood at the front.
She never interfered with her Beast Husbands’ jealous squabbles. Now, with the fox still in her arms, it wouldn’t be right to just put him down.
If she did that, she would probably hurt Hu Qiumu’s feelings and make the other Beast Husbands think she was cold.
So, she cleared her throat and changed the subject. "You’ve come at just the right time. It’s lunchtime now. Would you like to eat together?"
