Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld

Chapter 202 - 201: You Didn’t Spare Him Either

  • Next Chapter

’No wonder I’ve never seen him fight in his beast form. It’s because he’s too ugly to show it!’

’If the Female Master knew, she probably wouldn’t like him so much anymore.’

With that thought, Feng Qiwu’s derisive laughter grew even louder.

Suddenly, Feng Qiwu felt it wasn’t so bad that he couldn’t turn back into a human. After all, his beast form was quite something. In that department, Chi Yizhong was definitely no match for him.

Perhaps it was because of his beast form, but as Feng Qiwu laughed, a chicken-like cackle mixed into the sound, instantly cheapening his noble image as a Phoenix.

Realizing something was amiss, Feng Qiwu’s laughter cut off abruptly. He immediately slapped a wing over his beak.

He tried to hide his embarrassment, but the sound had already escaped. It was too late.

"HAHAHA... What did I tell you? And you still won’t admit it! That sound just now—if that wasn’t a chicken, what was it?"

Yu He had no intention of letting him off the hook, seizing the chance to go into full-on mockery mode.

Yu He was also in his beast form, with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a fish. His tail was curled beneath him, supporting his weight.

As he got more animated, his tail began to swing up and down unconsciously, slapping the ground with a loud THWAP.

Furious, Feng Qiwu forgot all about covering his beak. He raised a wing and pointed it menacingly at him. "You have the nerve to criticize me? Look at you! What are you, if not a salted fish?"

"I don’t even want to talk about that fishy stench. It’s so bad I feel like I could puke up the entire South Sea."

The sound of the tail slapping the ground vanished. Yu He’s face darkened as he stared at Feng Qiwu. "Say that again. I dare you!"

Completely unfazed, Feng Qiwu fanned the air in front of his beak with a wing, then made a gagging motion.

It was a remarkably vivid performance, leaving no doubt as to the depth of his disgust.

"I could say it a hundred times and it would still be the same! You’re a salted fish—a stinking, salted fish!"

Yu He was so furious he started to laugh. WHACK! His tail slammed against the ground with a tremendous noise. It hurt, but he merely winced and forced himself to bear it.

"And you’re just an ignorant chicken! Have you never heard that my kind is also known as mermaids?"

"All the beastmen on the continent fight over us, desperate to take us home as their Beast Husbands."

"Besides, that’s the scent of the ocean! How is that a stench? I think you’re not only ignorant, you should probably get your nose checked, too."

Feng Qiwu pointed one wing at him while clutching his stomach with the other, roaring with laughter. "Mermaids? Don’t make me laugh! If my old man heard that, he’d laugh so hard his teeth would fall out!"

Yu He couldn’t win the argument, and his entire body began to tremble with rage. As Feng Qiwu’s laughter grew more and more outrageous, he finally snapped and lunged at the phoenix.

His sharp claws glinted menacingly. In a single swipe, he sent a flurry of Feng Qiwu’s feathers drifting to the ground.

Luckily, Feng Qiwu was fast enough to react, so the claws only grazed his feathers, not his flesh.

Even so, a look of anguish crossed his face.

’My beautiful feathers! Gone, just like that!’

’That stinking salted fish! If I don’t teach him a lesson, he won’t know who’s boss around here!’

"You damn salted fish! Who’s afraid of who? I’ll peck you to death!"

The two of them were locked in a furious brawl, while the others simply treated it as a welcome diversion. They watched with great amusement, not even thinking of intervening.

To avoid getting caught in the crossfire, the spectators simultaneously took a few steps back.

Once he had stopped, Chi Yizhong felt a moment of stunned silence.

’He hadn’t expected things to turn out this way. The trace of melancholy that had been weighing on his heart seemed to have vanished completely.’

He listened to their squabbling with an amused expression, but his interest waned after a few moments.

He looked up at the sky, trying to sense Chu Liangyu’s location through the shifting air currents.

Wherever the Three-legged Golden Crow passed, golden motes of light cascaded down. Once everyone had fully recovered, the Golden Crow let out a long, clear cry.

Gradually, she lowered her altitude, flying toward her Beast Husbands.

Chu Liangyu’s movements were so light, she could have landed without alerting anyone. But as the center of everyone’s attention, the moment her feet touched the ground, the crowd erupted with a deafening roar.

An instant later, the sound of cheering was so loud it was almost painful. Even Chu Liangyu jumped, startled by the sheer volume.

Steadying herself, Chu Liangyu motioned for quiet. Then, she spoke. "Thank you, everyone, for your help."

She paused, wanting to say more, but suddenly found herself at a loss for words.

"It was our duty! You don’t have to thank us, Chief!"

"Congratulations on becoming a Beast God, Chief! This brings great honor to our Xihe Tribe."

A smile touched Chu Liangyu’s lips, and she was warmed by their enthusiastic support.

"Alright, all of you have worked very hard. Go back to the tribe and rest."

"Yes, Chief!"

The crowd seemed reluctant to leave, but they obediently began to head back in the direction of the tribe.

Just then, Xiong Jiaojiao and a few others pushed against the current of the crowd, making their way toward Chu Liangyu.

Xiong Jiaojiao first pulled Chu Liangyu into a tight hug. Her voice, thick with emotion and hinting at tears, was full of awe. "Sister Liangyu, you did it!"

"Yes, I did."

Chu Liangyu’s expression softened as she looked at Xiong Jiaojiao, who was a full head shorter than her. She reached out and gently ruffled her hair.

"You were willing to part with it so easily? After working so hard to advance to your dual-winged form, you didn’t even hesitate to risk it."

Chu Liangyu’s heart filled with warmth as she recalled the image of Xiong Jiaojiao and the others leading the charge to block the tribulation lightning for her.

"What are you talking about, Sister Liangyu? I never would have advanced to my dual-winged form if it weren’t for you."

Xiong Jiaojiao pulled back from the embrace, giving her a look that said, "What kind of person do you take me for?"

Chu Liangyu chuckled and quickly changed her tune, placating her. "Alright, alright. I underestimated you. My mistake."

This time, besides Xiong Jiaojiao, every other member of the Wood Spirit Clan had, without exception, joined in.

Beyond her gratitude, Chu Liangyu was utterly astounded.

"Sister Liangyu, your ascension to godhood is such a joyous occasion! What do you say we throw a banquet in two days?"

Xiong Jiaojiao had only been putting on a show and wasn’t truly angry. The moment Chu Liangyu started placating her, she was back to her usual self.

Chu Liangyu, however, hesitated. After all, she had an appointment with Elder Yu, and a banquet would undoubtedly delay her.

"Sister Liangyu~"

Ignoring the fact that they were in public, Xiong Jiaojiao grabbed her arm and started to wheedle.

Chu Liangyu gave a helpless smile and finally nodded in agreement. "Alright, we’ll do it your way."

’There were still so many things to take care of in the aftermath; she wouldn’t be able to leave anytime soon anyway.’

’A banquet was just a banquet. It wouldn’t take that much time.’

"Hee hee, Sister Liangyu, you’re the best!"

It wasn’t that Xiong Jiaojiao was just looking for an excuse to party; she sincerely wanted to celebrate with Chu Liangyu.

’It had been such a difficult journey. She felt Chu Liangyu deserved a grand banquet to celebrate her success.’
